  Sometime after 4:00 p.m. on October 30, 2002, I was arrested at the door of the university by two plainclothes policemen, who did not show any legal documents. I asked them: "Who are you? Why are you treating me like this?" The two policemen said nothing but continued to beat me. I was beaten so badly that my vision was blurred and distorted. I was forcibly taken to the Hongxing Hotel. Later that day I learned that several other practitioners were illegally apprehended as well.

If no information was given, the Dafa practitioners were detained or sent to a forced labour camp. A total of 70 practitioners were arrested, and quite a few Dafa materials production sites were destroyed, and tens of thousands of Yuan worth of equipment was lost.   Using a kind of stink "bomb" to assist in the forced feeding: If the practitioners refused to open their mouths, detention centre doctors would make use of a drug called a "bomb"(We don't know the nature of this drug) that emits a very strong odour. The smell is so strong that the hunger strikers had to open their mouths to breathe, allowing the police to force-feed them. Some practitioner's noses were badly injured by this "bomb".

The directors of the detention centre, Zhu and Ma, are responsible for his death.

  Under the leadership of Mr. He Po and Mr. Wei Dong, the police tied Li Wenming to an iron chair and put a special helmet on his head. They knew that the terrible effect of this torture method would make anyone desire death over life; the helmet was to prevent the victim from committing suicide. The police applied custom-made handcuffs to Li Wenming's wrists. The handcuffs were actually two iron rings that could be tightened by twisting the screws.
