The Deaths of Three Former Retired Staff Members from Xiangtan University After Suffering Persecution
2007-01-03
Mr. Qiu Youde, 72, was the former head of the Communist Party Organisation Department at Xiangtan University. He began practising Falun Dafa at the age of 66. After July 20th, 1999, Chinese Communist Party officials applied great pressure on him to renounce Dafa. They threatened that his son, employed at a police station, would not have a future if Mr. Qiu didn't follow their demands. They forced him to write a statement giving up Dafa, which was published in the university newspaper. Shortly thereafter Mr. Qiu was hospitalised and passed away in 2003. -
Elderly Ms. Wang Suxiang from Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-03The family of Wang Suxiang has been constantly harassed and persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Ms. Wang's son was arrested several times, and her daughter was sent to a forced labour camp four times and nearly tortured to death. Under severe mental and physical strain, Wang Suxiang and her husband often had to go to police stations, community committees, and public security bureaus to find their detained children and secure their release. Overwhelmed by the accumulated mental and physical pressure, seventy-three-year-old Wang Suxiang fell ill and passed away on November 29th, 2006. -
Ms. Bai Yanyun, 39, Died from Police Brutality in 2005
2007-01-03Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Bao Yanyun, 39 years old, was arrested by police because they found a copy the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in her home. Police brutally beat and threatened her, endangering her life. Police sent her to Ezhou City Central Hospital for emergency treatment. She died in the hospital on October 20th, 2005. The doctor said she died of uraemia. But why was her life in danger only one day after being interrogated by the Ezhou City 610 Office agents? -
The Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Jiangsu Province
2007-01-02Chinese law states that labour camp detainees should not work for more than six hours a day, and they should not do heavy labour. At Fangqiang Labour Camp, however, Falun Gong practitioners sometimes are forced to work for more than 12 hours a day in the field and for 14 or 16 hours a day at the sewing workshop of Division 1 and Division 4. When cleaning the latrine pits, other detainees are allowed to use a pole to carry barrels of faeces, while Falun Gong practitioners are forced to carry the barrel in their arms. The faeces often spill all over their faces and clothes. The guards do not even spare older Falun Gong practitioners. A 68-year-old practitioner was forced to remove his shoes and socks, and clean the sewage ditch while standing in freezing water. -
Awakened Persecutor Exposes the Brutal Persecution Suffered by Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wang Zhuang
2007-01-0250-year-old Mr. Wang Zhuang was brutally tortured in prison. The captain of the prison guards beat Wang Zhuang many times. He slapped Mr. Wang and kicked him. Once, while Wang Zhuang was walking, the captain suddenly kicked him, making him fall to the ground. Wang Zhuang went on a hunger strike to protest the unreasonable oppression and persecution. The guards ordered inmates to force feed him with a whole bag of salt. Guard Si Zhengming handcuffed Mr. Wang's hands behind his back so tightly that the handcuffs cut into his flesh. Wang Zhuang was handcuffed for a whole day, and was beaten by the inmates many times. -
In Memory of Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Yanchao, Persecuted to Death at 30
2007-01-02Mr. Zhang Yanchao was 30 years old. On April 11th, 2002, Mr. Zhang was arrested by policemen from the Hongqi Village Police Station on his way home from Shuangcheng. He lost contact with his family. On April 30th, when his family finally got to see him again, he was already dead. Zhang Yanchao's mother still does not know that her son has been persecuted to death. Because her family members feared that she would not survive the news, they have never told her. She missed her son so much that she could not eat or sleep. -
The Persecution Suffered by Mr. Wei Changbao and His Family; Husband and Wife Homeless, Daughter Living with Grandmother
2007-01-02In October, 1999, Mr. Wei Changbao, his wife, his mother, and his two-year-old child went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. On the way, his wife and mother were arrested by police. They were detained in Yinan Detention Centre for two weeks, and each was fined 1,400 yuan. Later Mr. Wei made it to Beijing but was arrested at the train station. Officers from the train police station chopped at his arms with a fire hook. Even though the temperature was about minus 12 degrees Centigrade (10.4 oF), they removed his coat. In the afternoon Yu Houping took Mr. Wei outside of the Beijing Detention Centre. He slapped Mr. Wei's face with a book as soon as they stepped out the door. -
Practitioners Arrested and Killed by 610 Office Agents in Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province
2007-01-01The police team members told the 610 Office, the National Security Team, and their supervisors at the police station that these practitioners were a "gang of anti-revolutionaries." They confiscated assets worth 10,000 yuan, but reported them as 20,000 to 30,000 yuan to the provincial level government. The assets actually worth between 20,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan were reported at an inflated value of 50,000 to 60,000 yuan. The State Security Department urged them to conclude the case within a certain period of time after learning of this case. The provincial government attached a great deal of importance to this case, and asked Pi to report to them about the case every other day. -
Police in Zhoukou City, Henan Province Have Persecuted Me Since 1999
2007-01-01On October 3rd, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal. At the Beijing train station, I was arrested and taken to the police department. Gao Feng and other officers, as well as Deputy Minister of the Zhoukou Department of Culture Gao Zhenhuan, Curator of the Cultural Centre Zhao Guangzun, and Liu Xinping tortured me. Gao Feng grabbed me by my collar and shouted, "I will beat you to death. Even if I beat you to death, I still will not feel that I have vented my anger." As he shouted, he hit my head against the wall and attempted to force me to remain kneeling for five hours. I firmly refused to kneel down. In addition, 9,000 yuan was extorted from me. -
Shenyang City Jail Refuses to Allow Family Visits to Falun Dafa Practitioners; Condition of Practitioners on Hunger Strike Is Unknown
2007-01-01Falun Dafa practitioners detained in supervision area #20 of the Shenyang City Second Jail in Liaoning Province have been on a hunger strike. Several practitioners were dispersed to different production workshops to be persecuted. Mr. Sun Yongsheng was one of them. Recently, when his family members visited the jail, the prison guard dragged Mr. Sun away as soon as they met, terminating the visit. Mr. Sun Yongsheng is very weak, and the condition of other practitioners that are on hunger strike inside the jail is unknown. We urge public figures around the world to pay attention to this case and rescue them. -
Ms. Yao Guizhi Sent to Forced Labour for Telling People About the Facts and Wonderfulness of Dafa
2007-01-01Before practising Falun Dafa, Ms. Yao Guizhi's health had deteriorated. One day in 2003, a Falun Dafa practitioner told her, "If you recite 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forberance is good' and 'Falun Dafa is good 'you will receive blessings, and your health will recover." Ms. Yao followed the advice, and her health truly recovered. It was then that she began to cultivate Dafa. Because of the benefits Falun Dafa brought to her, Ms. Yao told many people about the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa. Ms. Yao was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution at the beginning of 2006. She was sentenced to 18 months of forced labour and sent to Kaiping Forced Labour Camp. -
Former Senior Police Officer Zhang Yun Brutally Tortured in Luquan City Prison in Hebei Province
2006-12-31Ms. Zhang Yun, a 51-year-old senior police officer, has been put in Luquan City Prison because of her steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. The guards tied her up and forced her to kneel on the floor. They twisted her arms and pulled them straight back, forcing them up towards her head. The pain almost caused Zhang Yun to pass out. Then as they continued to wrap the rope around and around from her shoulders down, they kept tightening the rope and asking her if she would sign the guarantee statement to renounce Falun Dafa. Zhang Yun refused to give in while enduring the excruciating pain. Those who have been in labour camps have heard about how terrible this rope binding could be. When the rope is loosened, circulation can return so rapidly that weaker hearts are unable to take and this can cause death. -
Ms. Sun Yanfang, a Teacher in Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province, Imprisoned
2006-12-31Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Yanfang, a teacher, has been imprisoned many times for practising Falun Dafa. In September 2006, when she went to the 610 Office to file a complaint, she was arrested and detained in Acheng City's First Detention Centre, where she was terribly tortured and placed in handcuffs and shackles. Therefore, she went on a hunger strike shouting, "Falun Dafa is good!" Acheng City Hospital sent over a team of medical personnel and monitors to force-feed Ms. Sun Yanfang causing her to become extremely skinny. On November 21st, Sun Yanfang received the Court's judgement: a three-year term of imprisonment. -
Older Ms. Xiao Huiqing Taken to a Brainwashing Session After Three Years in a Forced Labour Camp
2006-12-31Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiao Huiqing, in her fifties, is an elementary school teacher. On November 28th, 2003, she gave one of her students a leaflet exposing the persecution. She was reported and sentenced to three years of forced labour. Her term ended on November 28th, 2006, but officials to the Erequan Brainwashing Session. -
Party Officials in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, Followed Ms. Wen Huiying for a Long Time
2006-12-31Party officials followed practitioner Ms. Wen Huiying between the end of 2001 and November 2006. Officials ordered Ms. Wen’s workplace to send her to a brainwashing centre in the autumn of 2003 but this never happened. One day in early December 2005, police officers went to Wen Huiying’s home. They knocked on her door, but she refused to open. The next day three people from the factory's Security Section again harassed her at home.
