Sweden: Human Rights Torch Arrives in Capital City Stockholm
2007-10-18On 14th October 2007, the Olympic Human Rights Torch Relay arrived in the Swedish capital Stockholm. Stockholm is the 22nd city since the start of the Relay initiated by CIPFG on 9th August. Swedish relay runner Per-Arne Brjesson took the lead in carrying the torch through Stockholm. -
Germany: Support in Munich for Withdrawals from the CCP ahead of the National Day of Mourning
2007-10-17Setting up banners reading “Support twenty-six million withdrawals from the CCP” and laying out photos that exposed the CCP’s crimes against Chinese people during its reign, Falun Gong practitioners gathered together ahead of the National Day of Mourning to support Chinese people quitting the CCP and to welcome the re-birth of the Chinese nation. -
Sweden: Swedish Practitioners Protest against the Persecution of Falun Gong at the Chinese Embassy in Gothenburg
2007-10-17October 1st is the day the Chinese people lost their national day. In order to protest against the CCP's brutal persecution against Falun Gong since 1999, a group of practitioners in Gothenburg gathered at the Chinese Embassy, protesting against eight years of persecution, and requesting the CCP stops the persecution immediately. -
Germany: Saxony Day in Reichenbach Vogtland
2007-10-16Despite rainy weather, around 300,000 people went to Saxony Day. The celebrations ended with a parade that wound through the entire city. Around 100,000 people watched this parade. Practitioners from different areas in Germany came because this was a great opportunity to tell the truth about the persecution to a large amount of people. -
Poland: “What you are doing today is really good, really terrific!”
2007-10-16During a series of events on the days preceding the European Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference held in Warsaw last month, over 100 MPs signed a petition to support Falun Gong within one day. Besides the recognition and support from political circles and media in Poland, the support from ordinary people also touched Falun Gong practitioners from Europe. On September 21st and 22nd Falun Gong practitioners held a parade and rally in the city centre, which was given widespread coverage by the media. -
Sweden: Human Rights Torch Relay Receives Massive Support in Gothenburg
2007-10-15On October 8th, the Human Rights Torch Relay arrived in Sweden’s second largest city, Gothenburg. MPs from seven different parties gave speeches at the event and many human rights organisations, artists and young athletes were there showing their support. They all condemned the persecution of the Chinese people by the CCP regime. -
Germany: Exposing the CCP’s Persecution in Stuttgart
2007-10-14On September 29th, practitioners introduced Falun Gong to the people in Stuttgart. At the same time they exposed the more than eight years of persecution against Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist regime. While one practitioner demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, some visitors wanted to know where they could learn the practice. -
Sweden: Human Rights Torch Reaches Malmö
2007-10-13On the 7th of October, the Global Human Rights Torch arrived in Sweden’s third biggest city, Malmö after leaving the Danish capital Copenhagen. Sydsvenskan (Swedish Southern Daily) TV station and many local newspapers reported on the event. Many politicians and a famous singer came to the event to call for human rights in China. -
Holland: Human Right Torch Arrives in Dutch Political Capital The Hague
2007-10-12On October 3rd 2007, the Human Rights Torch Relay initiated by the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) arrived in the Netherlands’ political capital The Hague, which was the first stop of the Relay in the Netherlands. Russia: Dafa Practitioners Receive Warm Welcome in Stavropoly City's 230th Anniversary Celebrations
2007-10-12Through participating in the city' anniversary celebrations in this special way, practitioners brought Falun Dafa's magnificence to this city. They were warmly welcomed by local residents. After the event was over, Stavropoly City's Cultural and Recreational Park Administration issued a special recognition letter to the Falun Gong practitioners in appreciation of their participation. -
Denmark: Human Rights Torch Arrives in Copenhagen
2007-10-11On the 6th of October, the Human Rights Torch was passed from the Netherlands to Denmark’s capital Copenhagen. It was a rare sunny day during autumn. All present wore yellow ribbons in support of lawyer Gao Zhisheng, who has lost his freedom due to persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and is still being persecuted in China. -
Belgium: St. Niklaas is Fourth Stop for Human Rights Torch
2007-10-09October 1st is the National Day of Mourning in China. On this day, the Human Rights Torch Relay arrived at St. Niklaas City, the fourth stop in Belgium, where the sixtieth Peace Festival was just celebrated. The Mayor decided to let the city hall become the recipient of the Torch as a part of the Peace Festival, to express support from the city for human rights in China. -
United Kingdom: Chinatown Chorus Calls on People to Quit the CCP
2007-10-08Local choir Tian Yuan Chorus gave a performance in Chinatown, London. This event was to encourage UK people to show concern for the Chinese people in mainland China who have been suffering under a brutal communist dictatorship, and was also to call on the Chinese people to quit the CCP and its related organisations. -
Germany: Tourists in Ritterhude Concerned about Organ Harvesting in China
2007-10-08German Falun Gong practitioners held an activity in the German town of Ritterhude. Many tourists were horrified after looking at posters and fliers about the state sponsored, although carefully concealed, forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners that is happening in China, just before the start of the Beijing Olympics. -
Belgium: Human Rights Torch Relay Arrives in Ostend
2007-10-07Ostend’s MP Wouter De Vriendt and Great Flanders’ MP Gino De Craemer held the post of ambassadors of the Human Rights Torch Relay in person. They started from the city centre, Wapenplein Square, ran along a big coastal road to today’s main meeting field Deli Harpers Sculpture and attracted the attention of many tourists.
