  • Zhang Wei Severely Abused during Unjust 10-year Prison Sentence

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Wei was arrested in October 2005 and later sentenced to 10 years in prison for tapping into a local cable TV network to explain the facts about Falun Gong to the public and expose the persecution [ Ed. Note: Due to the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Gong, including a relentless campaign of defamation, and because all normal avenues of communication are closed to them, Falun Gong practitioners in China have had to resort to creative means to expose the persecution and get the truth out to the public ]. During the time that he was detained in prison Mr. Zhang was brutally tortured by the guards and he is extremely weak.
  • Products Made by Slave Labour in Jiamusi Prison, Heilongjiang Province

    Jiamusi Prison in Heilongjiang Province is one of many prisons in China where prisoners are exploited as cheap labour to sort and package different kinds of products. Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned there are no exception from this type of exploitation. The prison received a shipment of popsicle sticks, toothpicks and disposable chopsticks in late 2012. The prisoners were then forced to sort and package them.
  • Dr. Li Yanjun Arrested and Taken to Xinjin Brainwashing Centre - Police Lied to His Family

    Dr. Li Yanjun, an associate professor at the Southwest Petroleum University, was arrested on June 26th, 2013, and taken to the Luzhou Detention Centre, because he practised Falun Gong. His family was notified by officials from the Luzhou Domestic Security Division on July 25th, a month after his arrest, that he had been released under surveillance. However, he was instead taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre for further persecution.

    Xu Xiuhui, 64, suffered unimaginable torture in Hezuizhi Forced Labour Camp due to practising Falun Gong. She recounts: "On the second day after I entered the labour camp, and for the next three days, guard Wui Dan ordered the inmates to bring me to the classroom in the morning. They shocked me with an electric baton throughout the morning, sometimes with three electric batons together. As I lay on the ground semi-conscious, Li Lianying shocked the centres of the bottoms of my feet. They shocked me until my entire body shook and quivered and I wasn't able to stand up. Afterwards I lay on the cold concrete floor for several hours in the cold winter."
  • Computer Science Professor Prosecuted for Pro Bono Work

    Mr. Su Kun, a Falun Gong practitioner and professor at the Yunnan Vocational & Technical College of the National Defence Industry, was tried by the Kunming City Intermediate Court on July 2nd, 2013, for providing pro bono work, which included installing computer software for others. His defence attorney refuted that the evidence presented indicated no crime had been committed, and he showed that Professor Su was simply a good person who was volunteering his time. Previously, Professor Su was arrested in 2004 for giving his students DVDs which contained important facts about Falun Gong. He served more than three and a half years in a forced labour camp.
  • Ms. Liu Chengyan from Fushun City Arrested and Force-Fed with Hot Sauce

    On July 1st, 2013, police invaded the home of Ms. Liu Chengyan in Wulaotun Village. They arrested her and confiscated her laptop, printer and other personal items. In order to force a confession from Ms. Liu, police then force-fed her with hot sauce, which made her mouth swell. Ms. Liu's son, Yu Jixin, is two and a half years old . He was greatly traumatized by the arrest of his mother and cries for her every day. Ms. Liu is being held in the NanGou Detention Centre.
  • Gu Siping, Director of 610 Office in Yangpu District of Shanghai, Harasses and Threatens Practitioners

    Gu Siping, director of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in the Yangpu District of Shanghai, has kept Falun Gong practitioners under surveillance and persecuted them for a long time. He has harassed and threatened practitioners in residential areas. He has also sown discord between practitioners and their families. He boasted, “I will fight with Falun Gong until the end.” Many practitioners have been subjected to mental torture and persecution as a result of his orders.
  • The Brutal Inside Story of a Jilin Province Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioners detained in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp have to start working at 5:30 a.m., and must work until 6:45 p.m. There are no breaks in between. The little bit of time allowed to have meals and use the toilet is considered rest time. The detained must make items with toxic plastic. The guards strictly forbid them from telling anyone that the plastic used there is poisonous. The supervisor summoned Falun Gong practitioner Song Baoqin to the warehouse on January 4th, 2013, and demanded that she tell them who reported that the plastic was toxic. When Song Baoqin refused to answer, she was viciously beaten.
  • Two Falun Gong Women in Their 60's Sentenced to Six Years in Prison at a Show Trial in Shanghai

    Ms. Bai Gendi and Ms. Yao Yuhua from Shanghai, both in their 60s, have been sentenced to prison for their belief in Falun Gong. The Xuhui District Court sentenced Ms. Bai to 6.5 years and Ms. Yao to 6 years on May 3rd, 2013. Their appeals were denied on June 18th. Since the Chinese communist regime began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Bai and Ms. Yao have been arrested many times for their faith. Ms. Bai has been arrested six times and detained for a total of 10 years and 2 months.
  • Successful TV Station Host Arrested, Fired, and Harassed for Practising Falun Gong

    My name is Luo Hui and I am 45 years old. I was the host of CCTV's former Sanjiang Food Company of the Agriculture Bureau of Heilongjiang Province for 13 years. However, due to Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] jealousy, he launched a comprehensive persecution against Falun Gong in July 1999. I was laid off from my position at the TV station. To let people know the truth about the persecution, my husband and I went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. Since then my husband and I have suffered repeated persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
  • After Years in Prisons and Labour Camps, Ms. Mo Huiping Is Once Again Arrested

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Mo Huiping, 37, from Yinchuan City in Ningxia Autonomous Region was arrested in Wuzhong City. We have learned that Ms. Mo was targeted by the authorities for further persecution. This is the third time she has been severely persecuted. Ms. Luo Xinping was forced to pay two thousand yuan before she was released.
  • Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Judong Women's Forced Labour Camp in 2012

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Lan was incarcerated in Judong Women's Forced Labour Camp and forced to stand for prolonged periods of time daily. After she got up in the morning, she and the inmates assigned to monitor her went to the so-called “counselling room,” where she would be forced to stand till 2 or 3 a.m. the next day. This torture continued for several months. Ms. Xu was given very little food, and her requests for more food were repeatedly rejected by the guards. Ms. Xu was only allowed to sleep just over two hours a day. She was also forced to watch videos that slander Falun Gong.
  • Mr. Hong Chang Repeatedly Tortured in Zhejiang Province No. 4 Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hong Chang from Hangzhou City started practising in April 1998, and has been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because he refused to renounce his faith. He was sent to Zhejiang Province No. 4 Prison, where he was tortured and nearly died. He recounts: "The guards employed many torture methods to abuse me, including lifting me up by my arms and running me around in circles before suddenly stopping, which caused me to dizzily fall over. They lifted me up by clamping my ears and swaying me back and forth, holding me on the ground and scribbling on my face with a marker and holding my heels from the back and forcing me to crawl on my hands, which also evoked their laughter."
  • The Torture I Endured in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    I was arrested and subjected to forced labour three times from 2000 to 2009. Each time I was detained in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. In 2000, I was sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for the first time. In order to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] practitioners, the most vicious methods of torture were used. For newcomers, the guards first play propaganda videos full of lies that slandered Falun Gong. If that didn't work, the torture started: beatings, verbal abuse, electric shock, solitary confinement, handcuffing, and term extensions--all to make them give up their belief.

    Ms. Cao Yuzhen, in her 70s, was subjected to forced labour for 18 months for practising Falun Gong. She was taken to the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changchun in August 2011. Ms. Cao had suffered from heart problems prior to practising Falun Gong but her illnesses disappeared shortly afterwards starting Falun Gong. In the labour camp guards slapped her in the face, beat her and shocked her with an electric baton to try to force Ms. Cao to renounce her belief.
