Ms. Zhu Shuyun Electrically Shocked and Beaten in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changchun, Jilin Province

Ms. Zhu Shuyun, a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun City was arrested on May 9th, 2007. She is currently being held in Heizuizi Women's Labour Camp. She did not sweep the snow before Christmas as the officials ordered her. Guard Liu Lianying shocked Ms. Zhu on her chest with electric baton(s) more than 20 times. That female guard also ordered inmate Yi Chun to savagely beat Zhu Shuyun until she went into convulsions and could not open her hands. Liu Lianying then shocked Ms. Zhu's hands with electric baton(s). Guard Liu Lianying would not let Ms. Zhu's family visit her on December 25th, 2007. -
Ms. Zhang Yuxia and Mr. Zhao Tongxiao Arrested in Shijiazhuang City and Falsely Charged
2008-02-27On January 16th, 2008, Shijiazhuang City 610 Office agents and police officers from the Xinhua District Department and the Shigang Street Station arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuxia and Mr. Zhao Tongxiao. They were detained at the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Centre. The 610 Office agents plotted against Mr. Zhao by first arresting him and then using fabricated evidence to falsely charge him, claiming that Mr. Zhao had tapped into the satellite TV system and used it to broadcast Falun Gong films. -
Liu Peizhen Sentenced to Eight Years, Nearly Blind from Torture and Abuse
2008-02-26On April 15th, 2005, police burst into the property where Ms. Liu Peizhen and her husband were living and arrested them both. They also seized Ms. Liu's computer and her materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained in the Nanshan District Detention Centre. In November 2005, the Nanshan District Court held a trial for Ms. Liu. The following April, Ms. Liu was sentenced to eight years in prison for distributing materials exposing the persecution. She is currently being held at the Guangzhou City Women's Prison. It is impossible to express how much pain and torture Ms. Liu has suffered during the last three years. According to her family, Ms. Liu is almost blind, so she is unable to read anything. She is also unable to care for herself without assistance. -
Zhang Lianying's Statement at the Hearings on China's Human Rights in the European Parliament

Ms. Zhang Lianying has been detained in forced labour camps many times for practising Falun Dafa. She recounts: "I was strangled nine times. Twice the policemen strangled my neck until I fainted and the other seven times they used ropes to strangle me until I fainted. Neither time was I sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. Once I was so severely beaten that both sides of my brain bled profusely. Once I was injected with an unknown drug so that I fell into a coma and my eyesight was blurred." -
Practitioner in Gansu Province Recounts the Persecution She and Her Family Have Suffered for the Past Eight Years
2008-02-25On October 1st, 2001, I went to a rural village to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution. Someone turned me in to the authorities and I was arrested by police. When they had detained me at the rehabilitation centre for over four months, I started a hunger strike in February 2002. On the fifth day of my hunger strike, Cheng Yeshang, the Chair of the centre, came with a drug addict to force feed me. He told that person to put salt in the powdered soy milk. He then pulled my hair with one hand and used his other hand to force open my mouth with two chopsticks. Then he told that person to pour the food into my mouth. My gums were bleeding, yet he didn't stop. Later, I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I was on an IV. The doctor looked at my eyes and said to Cheng, "She won't die." The next morning I was taken to the Lanzhou Forced Labour Camp. -
Mr. Chen Jinshu from Hong Kong Sentenced to Six Years in Prison by the Bao'an District Court in Guangdong Province
2008-02-24On January 29th, 2008, the Bao'an District Court in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province held a secret trial and sentenced Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen Jinshu from Hong Kong to six years in prison for sending out Falun Dafa books. Mr. Chen's family has filed an appeal. Mr. Chen's older sister in Shenzhen accepted an interview in tears. She said, "My brother is innocent. He is not guilty of any crime just because he practises Falun Gong." The court fabricated evidence to frame her brother and accused him of a case that was closed in 2005. -
Liu Guifu Recounts Her Suffering at Daxing Women's Forced Labour Camp in Beijing

The photo is of me, Liu Guifu, taken after my release from my second stay in a forced labour camp. My family and friends could no longer recognise me. My weight had dropped from about 10.7 stone to less than 7.9 stone due to the abuse I suffered at the labour camp. My hair turned grey, and much of it fell out. My face is full of wrinkles. I look 20 years older than I am. -
Ms. Wang Qi Beaten and Abused after Being Arrested in Gansu Province
2008-02-22On November 25th, 2007, police arrested Ms. Wang Qi, a computer instructor because she was carrying a Falun Gong book in her bag. At the police station the police chief interrogated her as to the origin of the Falun Gong book. Police handcuffed her, and punched and kicked her. The chief said, "Even if Falun Gong members are beaten to death, they die for nothing, and their family might never know about it." -
Ms. Qiu Yuxia and Daughter Ma Duo Arrested by 610 Office Agents of Jiamusi City
2008-02-21At 6:50 a.m. on December 13th, 2007, Teng Yan, deputy head of Changhong Police Substation, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, along with two police officers broke into the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Qiu Yuxia. They arrested Ms. Qiu Yuxia, and took away her home computer, printer, CD writer, VCD player, 2000 yuan in cash, a bank deposit book and deposit receipts (amounting to 30,000 yuan), her ID card and salary deposit card. Qiu Yuxia's daughter Ma Duo was arrested while at work. At 3 o'clock that afternoon, both women were sent to the detention centre. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Unjustly Arrested, Harassed
2008-02-21Seventy-three-year old practitioner Ms. Chen Ling was unable to live a peaceful life. People from the residential committee often interrogated her, "Did you go out today? Did you go to his or her home?" Residential committee Party secretary Ji asked her, "Is Falun Gong good, or is the Chinese Communist Party good?" Ms. Chen Ling was held in a detention centre five years ago, owing to her practising Falun Gong. They handcuffed her, forced her to be photographed and provide her fingerprints. The mental torment she suffered was enormous. Her teeth all fell out and her hair turned white. Four generations in her family were affected. Her husband was frightened so badly that he could not eat anything. Her four-year-old old grandson got sick from fear of the police. Her neighbours said indignantly, "Such a nice lady was arrested and her home raided, just because of practising Falun Gong!" -
Numerous Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Beijing, Their Homes Ransacked
2008-02-20On December 25th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cai Changhe from the Shengli Residential Quarters in the Shunyi District of Beijing was arrested. On January 25th, 2008, police officers were spread all over the streets of Beijing. They stopped the incoming and outgoing cars and requested all passengers get out and show them their IDs. Their aggressive behaviour caused panic in Beijing. With the 2008 Olympics coming, the Chinese Communist Party still persecutes and arrests Falun Dafa practitioners on a large scale, which really causes social turbulence. Their ugly atrocities violate the spirit of harmony, friendship and unity, which the Olympics promotes. -
Torture, Brainwashing and Slave Labour at Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Sichuan Province
2008-02-19Ms. Zhou Rong was sent to the No. 4 Team, where the inmates were forced to do very heavy labour. They had to process pig hair all day long. The pig hair was soaked in a caustic solution. After a while the labourers' hands rotted from prolonged contact with this solution. Because Zhou Rong refused to write the so-called "ideological re-understanding" or to read books slandering Falun Gong, guards made her stand till late at night. They also threatened to add more hours to her workload. -
Persecution at the Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province
2008-02-17I want to tell of some of the abuses I have experienced and witnessed at Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp. I am doing so to refute the Communist Party's false claim of "now being the best period of human rights in Chinese history." The Camp's goal of "reforming" or brainwashing us amounts to transforming human beings into subservient robots. In order to achieve this goal, the officials resorted to savage beatings, electric shocks, tying us onto the Death Bed, long-term handcuffing, sleep deprivation, and toilet bans, among other methods. The inmates were authorised to do anything they pleased with me. They beat me, pinched my nose until tears ran down my face on numerous occasions. They slapped my face with shoe soles and burned my heels with cigarette lighters, saying it would cause agonising pain when I walked without leaving a scar, thus no evidence of torture. -
Mr. Wang Hongshu Taken Into Custody And Beaten Savagely by Officers of Diaobingshan City
2008-02-17Mr. Wang Hongshu is a 50-year-old practitioner. At about 5 a.m. on January 17th, 2008, when he was on his way to his sister's home he was intercepted by a car without any licence plate. There were two people in the car. They did not show any ID and were not in police uniform. After they discovered that Mr. Wang was a Falun Gong practitioner, they dragged him against his will and tried to force him into the car. Mr. Wang tried to inform them about the true nature of Falun Gong. They said, "Do not talk with us about this. We must seize you." Mr. Wang refused to cooperate with them, so they beat him savagely. As a result, one of Mr. Wang's front teeth was knocked out, and another became loose, his face became blue and purple and his left eye filled with an abnormally large amount of blood. -
Bloody Violence Witnessed at Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province
2008-02-17I am a Falun Gong practitioner and I have been detained at the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp. On February 2nd, 2004, I heard the sound of someone being slapped. I saw a group of guards and inmates rush to where the slapping was taking place and more sounds of someone's face being slapped followed. Ten minutes later, inmates were seen dragging three men covered in blood. I saw inmate, Qi Lianfeng brutally punching the severely injured man he was dragging. Qi was punching the man's weak spots such as the chest and the ribs. The scene was pitiful. Inmates dragged the three severely injured men into the "small cell", and tied them to "iron chairs". This was followed by brutal beatings, being shocked with electric batons and unbearable verbal abuse.
