The Persecution of a Falun Gong Practitioner in Dalian City
2009-07-12
After Jiang Zemin's [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian City was forced to leave his job which he had held for several decades. After 1999 he was severely tortured at the Dalian Forced Labour Camp. In 2008 officers from Zhanqing Police Station and the Jinzhou District Police Department arrested him at his home and he was sentenced to one year of forced labour. During his lengthy detentions, his family led a difficult life and suffered severe financial hardship. -
The Persecution that My Father Has Suffered
2009-07-11On July 16th, 2008, before the Beijing Olympic Games, my father Zhang Xingwu was sent to a detention centre, and in the next nearly twelve months, no family member has been allowed to visit him. On March 31st, 2009, my father was put on trial. My mother and family members engaged a lawyer and after much difficulty were given a date for a public trial. On that morning, my mother and other relatives, who were setting off to go to the courthouse, were put under house arrest and were not allowed to attend the court session, and even the lawyer was not allowed to enter the courthouse. -
Savage Interrogation by National Security Police
2009-07-05In July 2007 I was arrested by police officers from the local National Security team and taken to a site used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. There, I was savagely tortured and interrogated. I was tortured for three days. The police handcuffed me to a metal chair and then beat my head. They handcuffed my hands behind my back with one hand over my shoulder and put six beer bottles between my back and hands. My arms quickly became numb due to lack of circulation. The police opened the handcuffs for a few minutes and then closed them again. I was later taken to a detention centre for a month, and was subsequently imprisoned in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp, Changchun City, Jilin Province. -
Practitioners Viciously Beaten and Tortured in Laizhou City Domestic Security Division in Shandong Province
2009-07-01On August 8th, 2008, Laizhou City police scaled the wall of the place where I was staying and arrested me and took me to Dianzi Brainwashing Centre. During the 12-day detention in the brainwashing centre, there were eight days when I was hung up [by handcuffed wrists] and deprived of sleep. Because my arms were cuffed for so long, I couldn't move them at all after I was finally let down. My legs and feet were swollen to the point that I couldn't wear my shoes. My hands had no feeling and I couldn't straighten my fingers. Now that seven months have passed, I still have numbness in my hands, and my ears sometimes ring. My left arm still hurts and I can't move it very quickly. -
65-Year-old Woman Persecuted Numerous Times and Now Unable to Return Home
2009-06-30Ms. Xiang Maohua, 65, is a Falun Gong practitioner who lived in Sichuan Province. During the past ten years, the police pursued and later arrested and detained her five times. She recounts: "The fourth time I was arrested, police slapped me in the face and grabbed my hair and knocked my head against a wall. They also forced me to stand for long periods of time. For twelve days in a row, they subjected me to various tortures, non-stop. My blood pressure suddenly shot up to 180 over 220 and I spat out blood... I was in grave danger." -
A Practitioner from Holland: "Beijing National Security Police Unjustly Interrogated Me"
2009-06-30I work for a famous Dutch travel agency as a tour leader and have guided tourists in China for 18 years. In the second half of April 2009, while leading a tour group in China, I was arrested and interrogated by officers with Beijing's National Security force. On May 11th, after I took a tourist group to the airport, I went back to my hotel. At about 3 p.m., someone knocked on my door. It was hotel security. They told me that the police wanted to ask me some questions. I tried to close the door immediately, but they pushed their way in and arrested me. -
I Witnessed the Shocking Condition of Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Jinzhong's Body Five Years Ago

Five years ago, Falun Gong practitioner Wang Jinzhong from Shenyang was tortured to death and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police sent his body to the hospital "to save him," but did so only after his death in an attempt to cover up their guilt. An eyewitness named Zhen witnessed the miserable shape of Wang Jinzhong's body and has verified that Wang Jinzhong was sent to the hospital only after he had been tortured to death by the policemen. -
The Persecution of 80-Year-Old Ms. Deng Meizhen
2009-06-27I went to appeal for Falun Gong's human rights in Beijing, to tell the authorities my personal experience of benefiting from Falun Gong. But I was arrested and detained. Later I went to Beijing to appeal again. I was detained at the Dianbai County No. 2 Detention Centre. I was handcuffed to a window frame, deprived of sleep for five consecutive days and nights. I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and they brutally force-fed me. One time, the deputy head of the detention centre pushed me and I fell down hard. He violently kicked me several times in the abdomen. Other personnel and practitioners quickly pulled me out, fearing I might die from his brutality. Another time, Deputy Head Liang pushed me and made me hit a cement bed. -
I Was Forced to Drop Out of School When I Was Thirteen Years Old

My name is Liang Yan. My father is Liang Lijin and my mother is Yang Xiuqin. When I was a little girl, I witnessed the persecution that our whole family suffered for practising Falun Gong. This experience caused me a lot of mental anguish and scarred my heart. My school leaders repetitively asking me to break ties with my mother. So I stopped going to school. In March 2002, my mother was arrested. Later, she escaped and we lost contact with each other. In May 2002, police arrested my father and beat him. -
Siping Prison Inmates Beat Practitioner to Death Under the Connivance of Prison Guards
2009-06-24Mr. Dong Fengshan was sent to Siping Prison in October 2008 to undergo "transformation" because he persevered in practising Falun Gong. Five prison inmates beat Mr. Dong for a total of two hours, under the connivance of prison guards. They used special leather whips that made noises so loud that the whole prison could hear them. Mr. Dong was a steadfast practitioner who did not utter a word and simply silently chanted "Falun Gong is good" while being beaten. Mr. Dong was so badly injured that he died the next day. -
Xu Jingyong Describes the Persecution He Was Subjected to in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province
2009-06-12On June 24th, 2000, my wife and I went to Tienanmen Square and told people the facts about Falun Gong. We were arrested. I was detained in the Qitaihe First Jail where police interrogated me, along with lots of beating and cursing. On the hottest days of the summer, I was forced to pull weeds, dig holes, and plant trees. I was forced to dig ditches, build dikes, and load, unload and move sand, bricks, and rocks on rainy days. In March 2009, the Qitaihe City Office began a hundred-day campaign to harass practitioners. The police came to where I lived and harassed and arrested practitioners but did not find me. On April 27th, the police came to look for me again. I left home to avoid being arrested and persecuted again. -
Tortures Endured by Falun Gong Practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp During the Olympics
2009-06-03Shortly prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, officials from the Beijing Forced Labour Camp transferred over 100 practitioners who refused to renounce Falun Gong to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. I was one of them. On July 17th, 2008, a guard told me if I admitted that I was wrong in practising Falun Gong, I would be spared, but I refused. The guards sat me on the ground, pushed me forward so my head was against the ground, and handcuffed my hands to separate beds. They moved the two beds in opposite directions. My arms were stretched until they couldn't be stretched any further. It felt like my arms were about to be torn off and my wrists were about to be cut off. Every part of my body was in excruciating pain and I was sweating profusely. -
My Husband Was Arrested in Nanjing City; No News of His Whereabouts for 10 Months
2009-06-01I am Liao Sihua, 51 years old, and the wife of Mr. Li Xianghai. On the afternoon of June 20th, 2008, my husband was secretly arrested by Communist agents at Suyuan Road in the Jiangning Development Zone in Nanjing City. At the same time, they confiscated a computer and a safe box. In the safe box there were accounting documents and funds of 82 thousand yuan (34 thousand of it was cash). They also confiscated my personal printer, 3 mobile phones, 3 MP3 players, and some Falun Gong materials.I do not know his current whereabouts and have not heard from him since his arrest. -
Zhang Demin's Personal Account of the Persecution He Suffered in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province
2009-06-01On June 24th, 2000, my parents, wife and I went to Tienanmen Square to tell people the truth about Falun Gong. We were arrested and detained. Because a large number of practitioners were arrested that day, we were later transferred to the Shijingshan Stadium and detained there. We were held in the stadium in 40 0 Celsius (104 0F) heat that day, but forbidden to use the toilet or drink water. In the evening we were locked up in a cramped, dark room. A policeman asked me where I was from. I did not answer him. Then they punched and scolded me. The next day, about 20 practitioners were transferred to the Mentougou Detention Centre where we were tortured. The criminals who were detained there beat us as soon as we arrived. -
Mr. Liu Jinglu Exposes Torture at Jixi City Police Station: "I heard electric baton noises next door and then screaming from my wife."
2009-05-28Mr. Liu Jinglu and Ms. Sun Lixiang, husband and wife, are Falun Gong practitioners in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. Police from Mishan and Jixi City arrested them, tortured them for a long time and sentenced them. Liu Jinglu heard electric baton noises next door and then screaming from his wife. With both hands cuffed to the chair and feet chained, he tried to stand up and say, 'You cannot treat a woman like this.'" One policeman slapped him in the face. On April 8th, 2008, Sun Lixiang was sent to Harbin Women's Prison. Liu Jinglu is still detained at Jixi First Detention Centre.
