  • A Practitioner Recounts Being Force-fed and Brutally Tortured at Shayang Forced Labour Camp in Hubei Province

Whenever I recall the days that I spent imprisoned at Shayang Forced Labour Camp I tremble with fear. In order to protest my imprisonment I started a hunger strike. The guards physically restrained me and used a big spoon to force-feed me hot pepper water. They ordered two big drug addict criminals to drag me to the labour camp hospital. While there, they brutally force-fed me through a rubber tube, causing my mouth to bleed profusely. They then inserted a metal "mouth gag" into my mouth and adjusted it to its maximum width. In this way, my mouth was stretched to the point that it tore my lips in several places. They left me in this position for several hours, causing my mouth to become severely injured and deformed.
  • Ms. Ma Bingjuan's Narration of Torture in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison

I was taken to the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison on September 27th, 2003. Every morning, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., we were forced to run laps without a rest except for one toilet break. After two days of running, my legs became so sore that I could barely walk. On the third day, I knew I was innocent and, as a practitioner, should not be treated like that. I refused to run and cried "Falun Gong is good." Wang Xiaoli, the deputy chief of the training centre in the prison, dragged me out of the line, pushed me into a corner, forced me to squat facing a wall, and whipped me fiercely with surgical tubing. I protested that the beating was illegal, but she continued whipping me and said, "I will beat you."
  • Crimes I Witnessed in the Tumuji Women's Forced Labour Camp in Xinanmeng, Inner Mongolia

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Fengzhi was cruelly beaten by police from the Chifeng Police Department. Five strong police officers stepped on her body and beat her. When she became unconscious they poured cold water on her face until she regained consciousness. All of the skin on her back was burned with electricity. I saw the black thick scars covering her back. Another practitioner, whose name was unknown to us, was hung up and tortured. The rope was pulled so tight around her abdomen that her skin was oozing pus.
  • Ms. Zhang Aiqin Tells Her Story as a Victim of the Chinese Regime's Persecution of Falun Gong

In 2000, my husband and I went to Russia. In 2001, I came back to China. I went to see a fellow practitioner who was just released from jail. Her home was monitored and therefore I was arrested by the police and put in jail. Another practitioner in my cell was often brutally beaten by the guards. When I first saw her, her face was badly swollen. It looked quite frightening. She was arrested when she went to a rural area to pass out flyers. A group of people brutally beat her. I was in jail for three months. My family spent a lot of money to get me out. My husband and I went back to Russia. We heard that state security in China was going to come to Russia to arrest me. I could not go back to China, and I did not have the legal status to stay in Russia. T
  • Falun Gong Practitioners' Personal Accounts of the Persecution They Suffered in Tangshan City, Hebei Province

My name is Liu Xiaoling. I am 57 years old. In October 2004, the head of the 610 Office forcibly took me to the Tangshan City "Legal Education School," a brainwashing centre, and detained me there for 80 days. They burned my hands with fire and injected me with an unknown drug. They locked me in a room and stripped off my winter jacket and shoes. Then they opened the window to expose me to the freezing cold. For 20 days they forbade me from sleeping or using the toilet. They threatened that they would torture me to death and then tell the public that I killed myself. I was emaciated at this point from all the abuse.
  • Instructor from the Communication University of China: The Persecution Many Practitioners and I Suffered at the Shanxi Women's Labour Camp and a Few Other Facilities

I was taken to the Beijing Dispatch Division on October 18th, 2007. The head guard ordered five drug addicts and prostitutes to attack me and try to coerce me to write the guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong. I refused. They forced me to squat. More than ten officials tried to brainwash me. They wouldn't let me stand up and wouldn't let me use the toilet. I went on a hunger strike to protest the abuse, and the head guard force-fed me water and food. The police instructed the five criminals to write vicious and slanderous words against Falun Gong on a piece of paper. Against my will they pressed my fingerprints on the paper, claiming I had written it, and then taped it to my body.

In January 2004, several police officers broke into my home and took all my Falun Gong books and more than 10,000 yuan that I had saved for my son's wedding. • Exposing the Evil in the No.2 Women's Forced Labour Camp of Shandong Province

I was sent to the No.2 Women's Forced Labour Camp of Shandong Province twice and was persecuted there. I have witnessed and personally experienced how the policemen "transform" and torture Falun Gong practitioners. The labour camp is full of lies, cheating and evil. They first separate Falun Gong practitioners, prevent them from contacting anybody, and send two former practitioners to monitor them, whose purpose it is to attempt to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong. If the practitioners refuse to be "transformed," they prevent them from sleeping, and make them stand facing the wall for physical punishment. I was tortured in that manner, was not allowed to sit for 24 hours a day.

  • Exposing the Mistreatment of Practitioners Detained at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison

In April 2003 I was arrested and incarcerated in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison where I was held for four and a half years. In mid-August 2003, I was made to either stand or squat for several days in a row because I refused to do hard labour. In late December 2003, more than 30 practitioners protested the persecution. Afterwards, the guards tortured us for several days. The first day they dragged us outside to suffer in the freezing cold. We were forbidden to wear hats and had to roll up our sleeves to bare our arms. The guards also cut our hair really short, so our ears were exposed. We were not given any water to drink and we had to eat our lunch outside. At night the guards took us in and had us sit on tiny benches, without sleeping. Whoever was spotted dozing off would be hit with sticks.
  • His Father Already Imprisoned, an Overseas Student Appeals for Help to Free His Recently Arrested Mother

Several days ago I learned that my mother, Zhang Guilan, had been arrested and sent to a detention centre on March 14th, 2009. This is her fourth arrest. My father is currently detained in Jidong Prison in Hebei Province. My sister stays at home alone. I have an 86-year-old grandmother. We haven't told her of my mother's arrest because we are afraid that she might not be able to bear it. And I myself am far away overseas. I am getting anxious and disturbed. As a member of a Falun Gong family, I hereby appeal for all kind hearted people and people with conscience to help rescue my mother so that our family can be reunited. I also appeal for people around the world to step forward with courage and help those that are being persecuted for being kind. They don't deserve that.

  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zeng Qing Recounts Her Persecution Experiences

"I was imprisoned in a forced labour camp for one year. It felt like I was living in hell for a thousand years. They forced us to listen to material framing and slandering Falun Gong. If we didn't listen carefully, we were punished. Falun Gong practitioners were put in the same cell with twenty or so drug addicts, and the guards told them to watch us. If they found out that we did Falun Gong exercises, they severely beat us. It was a routine and we were deprived of sleep, beaten and cursed. When Falun Gong practitioners were screaming in pain, doctors gave them an injection with some kind of anaesthetic drug. They left nothing untried to force us to give up practising Falun Gong. Some suffered mental collapse."
