Account of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Long-Term Persecution of a Carpenter and His Wife

Mr. Liu Naichuan was a carpenter from Yinan County, Shandong Province. He and his wife Ms. Liu Tianying were persecuted repeatedly for believing in Falun Gong. Mr. Liu Naichuan died in 2008 from injuries sustained due to torture at the age of 48. After being tortured for three days in one detention centre, Ms. Liu Tianying was transferred back to another detention centre. During her detention, her face was deformed from the torture, and she was in a coma for a period of time. -
Mr. Yu Zhongzhu Dies in Tailai Prison, Heilongjiang Province
2010-01-29On January 14th, 2010, Mr. Yu Zhongzhu's family received a call from Tailai Prison, asking them to go to the prison hospital because Mr. Yu was in critical condition. When his family rushed there, all were body-searched by the guards and not allowed to bring any communication devices or cameras. Mr. Yu died at 10 p.m. the same day, and his body was cremated without permission two days after, on January 16th, without autopsy. -
Summary Report: the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Hu County, Xi'an City
2010-01-29We first learned about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Hu County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province at the beginning of August 2002 and began to investigate. Arrested practitioners were sent to a secret place in a ravine where they were beaten mercilessly and interrogated under torture. They were also hung up and whipped and they were kicked, slapped on their faces, and pounded on their necks with blunt instruments. Others were put in handcuffs and foot shackles, and forced to squat for a long time. Some were subjected to the "Tiger bench" torture method, others were deprived of sleep for several days and nights continuously, and some were not allowed to eat or drink, or to use the toilet. -
Ms. Ni Yingqin Dies as a Result of Persecution in Hebei Province
2010-01-27On December 8th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ni Yingqin, 61, passed away after a long period of harassment and torture. She had been taken to Ankang Hospital (a mental hospital, used as a facility to persecute Falun Gong practitioners) and subjected to severe persecution because of her steadfast faith in Falun Gong. She was injected with toxic drugs, tortured with electric batons, brutally beaten and fed by force. In the end, Ms. Ni was tortured so severely that she suffered a stroke after she was released. She could no longer take care of herself and passed away after three years of illness. -
Elderly Parents Mourn Their Children's Death, Ms. Lu Shuqin Requests Her Daughter's Release
2010-01-27Ms. Lu Shuqin, an elderly woman from Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province, had two daughters, Ms. Feng Xiaomei, her oldest, and Ms. Feng Xiaomin. Both they and their husbands were Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Feng Xiaomin's husband, Mr. Wang Hongbin, was tortured to death in 2003. Less than a year later, in 2004, Ms. Feng Xiaomin was also tortured to death. Ms. Lu's husband could not handle the overwhelming sadness of losing two children in a row. After being harassed numerous times by the police, he passed away in early 2005. Ms. Feng Xiaomei has become very ill from being tortured in a forced labour camp, yet is still being forced to work. -
Ms. Sun Shuwen, 54, from Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province Dies as a Result of Persecution
2010-01-25Ms. Sun Shuwen's family of four are Falun Gong practitioners. They have been subjected to persecution numerous times for remaining steadfast in their belief. Due to pressure from Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime's policy "Ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially and destroy them physically," plus the persecution of her entire family, Ms. Sun suffered a brain haemorrhage, which resulted in paralysis. She was bedridden and not able to take care of herself. After being subjected to eight and a half years of physical torture and mental torment, Ms. Sun died on January 10th, 2010. -
An Innocent Person Imprisoned
2010-01-25Thirty-four-year-old Mr. Li Longji, a Falun Gong practitioner from Jilin Province, was arrested by police on September 17th, 2009. Mr. Li was interrogated under torture and is being held at the Yanji City Detention Centre. Officials finally notified Mr. Li Longji's elderly father and mother on December 10th, that their son had been arrested because he practised Falun Gong. Worried, they rushed to the Domestic Security Division in the Yanji City Police Department, to the city Procuratorate office, and the city detention centre in hopes of getting their son released. Their efforts were futile. In addition, they met with humiliation and persecution tactics at the hands of the police. Afterwards, Mr. Li's once-healthy father became ill, and his health progressively declined and died on January 2nd, 2010. -
Senior Citizen Mr. Liu Tingheng Dies as a Result of Persecution in Benxi Forced Labour Camp
2010-01-20After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Liu Tingheng was arrested four times. Due to long term persecution, his health suffered severely and he passed away in the spring of 2008. In 2007 he was sent to the Legal Centre of Benxi Forced Labour Camp to force him to renounce Falun Gong. The guards used all sorts of methods, both harsh and soft approaches, to undermine practitioners' resolve. During the night, guards came to harass practitioners, reading out loud articles that slandered Falun Gong. The guards also forced practitioners to watch TV and videos filled with lies about Falun Gong. They did not hesitate to use violence on anyone that did not agree with their propaganda. -
Mr. Wang Fangpu Sentenced to Forced Labour, Elderly Father Passes Away in Grief
2010-01-20On September 15th, 2009 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Fangpu was arrested by police at his home and was later sentenced to forced labour for two and a half years and held in the Tuanhe Labour Camp. Every day he was forced to work for 9 hours with other inmates to produce firecrackers. He was one of many Falun Gong practitioners arrested by police for the October 1st National Day. Mr. Wang's 80-year-old father, stricken by his arrest, passed away in November without being able to see his youngest son again. -
Remembering Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Wang Gang

When Mr. Wang was tortured in Boding Prison, he shouted "Falun Gong is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." He refused to renounce the practice. He was locked in a confinement cell. Gao Ying, the head warden, tied him to a bed, and his legs were shackled and his hands were handcuffed. He wasn't allowed to talk for 10 days and he was only given a little bit of water to drink. A guard kicked Mr. Wang's legs causing a fracture. His muscles and blood vessels became necrotic and prison guards forced him to undergo amputation. Later he died. -
Older Practitioner Ms. He Yigui Dies as Result of the Persecution in Sichuan Province
2010-01-15On March 3rd, 2009, Ms. He, 67, went to pick up her grandson from school, and she gave a few students some information about Falun Gong. Some of these students reported her to the police, they arrested her and detained her in the Chengdu City Detention Centre. Only several days later, Ms. He suffered from high blood pressure and was rushed to the Qingyang District Community Hospital. In December 2009, the Wuhou District Court notified her family that they planned to put Ms. He on trial. Her family reported her health condition to the court, and she had to be hospitalised. Ms. He was then in critical condition and she died on January 7th, 2010. -
Elderly Ms. Zou Ruihuan Dies Under Persecution - Her Family of Nine Is Brutally Mistreated

Following persistent police harassment, Ms. Zou Ruihuan, 77, passed away on October 26th, unable to recover from the constant pressure of the persecution. Her family of nine have firmly persisted in practising Falun Gong and police have arrested all of them many times. Family members have been sent to forced labour camp, or imprisoned for several years. Ms. Zou's husband was detained twice and tortured, and died in March 2007. The family has also had several tens of thousands of yuan extorted from them by the authorities. -
Ms. Zhang Xiuchun, 60, Dies as a Result of Persecution at Qiqihar Forced Labour Camp
2010-01-13On August 4th, 2006, Ms. Zhang Xiuchun was seized from her home by police because she practised Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to two years of forced labour at the Qiqihar Forced Labour Camp. She was not allowed to use the toilet and was left sitting in her own excrement because she refused to give up her belief. The long-term, high-pressure forced labour led to diabetes, loss of bladder control, and bad eyesight. Her health deteriorated, and she was treated in the hospital for a month. She remained in a coma during the hospitalisation. Ms. Zhang died on December 26th, 2009. -
Three Women Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution
2010-01-1271-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ren Jianying went to various towns to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution and tell people the facts about Falun Gong. In 2001, when she was distributing Falun Gong leaflets, the police arrested, interrogated and tortured her. The police severely beat her hands with a broom. In 2006, she was sentenced to a two-year prison term. In Beijing Women's Prison, the guards would not allow her to go to sleep. She was forced to keep a standing or squatting position all day and night. Guard Tian Fengqing ordered criminals to beat her up and try to force her to transform [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. Ms. Ren Jianying suffered many kinds of torture and her illnesses came back. On December 4th, 2009, she passed away. -
Chongqing University Student Mr. Lu Zhen Beaten to Death
2010-01-12Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Zhen was a student at the International Finance Department of Chongqing University. When he was jailed in Shandong Province Prison, someone reported Mr. Lu for passing Falun Gong articles to other people. On June 20th, 2009, a guard ordered 6 inmates to seriously beat him. In the early morning of June 21st, Mr. Lu Zhen was beaten to death when he was only 33 years old. Mr. Lu was in excellent health prior to entering the prison. Mr. Lu Zhen's family members were told that he died of a sudden heart attack on June 22nd.
