  • Husband of Falun Gong Practitioner Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Beijing practitioner Qiu Jinrong's husband Xie Linquan did not practise Falun Gong, but he was still subjected to persecution and died on October 30th, 2009. Ms. Qiu Jinrong was arrested twice by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and taken to a forced labour camp. The first time was on Chinese New Year's Day in 2002, when she was arrested and put in a forced labour camp for distributing Falun Gong materials. The second time, she was arrested at her home for simply being a Falun Gong practitioner.
  • Family Finds Mr. Liu Qingchun's Notes Detailing How He Was Tortured in Prison Before His Death

    Mr. Liu Qingchun was sent to forced labour for two years and later sentenced to four years in prison. When he was finally released, he was covered with wounds and suffering from a foggy mental state. He died on September 16th, 2009 at home. His wife and daughter in college also endured huge mental and physical abuse during the past ten years of persecution. Among his belongings, they found two pieces of paper folded inside an envelope that were covered with his handwriting, detailing abuses that he had suffered while being detained.
  • Eighteen Practitioners Arrested, One Dies of Torture

    Prior to October 1st, 2009, officers from the National Security Division of Dezhou City Police Department in Shandong Province, as well as and 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested 18 practitioners and ransacked their homes. Three were sentenced to forced labour. Ms. Ma Hongwei died from the torture. The other practitioners were released after large sums of money were extorted.
  • Mr. Li Delong Died as a Result of Persecution

    Due to constant harassment and persecution, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Delong had nowhere to turn. He tried numerous times to apply for a passport to go abroad, but was turned down each time. Within one month after his last application was rejected, Mr. Li's liver disease that had been cured through practising Falun Gong suddenly recurred. He died several days later, on November 29th, 2009.
  • Medical Doctor Ms. Gong Hui Dies as Direct Result of Forced Labour

    Ms. Gong Hui, 57, was arrested on August 13th, 2008 because she practised Falun Gong. On November 9th, the guards and inmates started a torture session at 9:00 a.m., and it continued until 11:00 p.m., at which point Ms. Gong was on the verge of death. Torture of similar severity is commonplace, resulting in death or mental collapse of numerous practitioners. Ms. Gong was tortured in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labour Camp for one year and three months, suffered from a mental collapse, and became severely sick. Only 22 days after she was released home, she died, on December 4th, 2009.
  • Death and Disappearance Incidents Involving Falun Gong Practitioners in Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province

    Ms. Liu Xiaoling was 37 years old in 2001, and she was from Zhaodong City. She was arrested on 2000 New Year's Eve, and subsequently incarcerated at the Zhaodong Detention Centre. She went on hunger strike to protest.On May 15th, 2000, the police took her to an interrogation room. Detention centre manager Wu Guozhi force-fed her with fermented bean curd soup and strong brine. Ms. Liu was also brutally beaten during the force-feeding process. The beating resulted in a broken rib that pierced one of her lungs, which led to her death.
  • Ms. Guo Enlan Arrested Again and Her Family Repeatedly Persecuted

    Ms. Guo Enlan and her family benefit from practising Falun Gong. They tell people the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution using many different means. They have consequently been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese authorities, and three of them have died as a result of persecution. On November 7th, 2009, police arrested Ms. Guo. She is being held in the Liaoyuan Detention Centre. The police also took her computer, printer, and many other items. This is the third time she has been arrested. Ms. Guo Enlan's husband, Dong Zhe, was arrested by police in 2001. He was tortured via many different methods, and was not released until he was very weak. He died in August 2003 at the age of 56.
  • Ms. Yang Xiaojing from Lanzhou City Dies as a Result of Repeated Persecution; Additional Information

    On October 1st, 2009, a 45-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Yang Xiaojing, passed away as a result of the long-term harassment, threats, and persecution by the officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Ms. Yang was severely harassed by the Lanzhou City police during the days leading to her death. Ms. Yang's husband, Cao Dong, is currently detained at the Tianshui Prison, Gansu Province.
  • Mr. Tian Fujin, 59, Dies in Custody in Inner Mongolia

    In 2008 Mr. Tian was sentenced to three years for practising Falun Gong and was locked in the Baoanzhao Prison. His daughter tried to visit him in March 2009, but was rejected due to the fact that she also practised Falun Gong. On December 14th, 2009, the Baoanzhao Prison authorities called his home, and said that he was dying. His family rushed to the prison and saw that Mr. Tian was in a deep coma. He died that night. The prison authorities said his death was caused by a stroke.
  • The Persecution Mr. Gu Bengen from Shengli Oilfield Suffered Before His Death

    The brutal persecution of Falun Gong was initiated by Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in July 1999 and carried out by the CCP. Mr. Gu Bengen, a practitioner from Shandong Province Shengli Oilfield in Dongying, was persecuted financially, physically and spiritually. From January to April of 2001, Mr. Gu was forcibly subjected to brainwashing at the Linpan Employee Training School. During that period, the regime officials suspended his salary for half a year, a loss of approximately 9,000 yuan. He was prevented from studying the Falun Gong teachings and practising the exercises. All the diseases that he had had before recurred, and he passed away on September 1st, 2006.
  • Practitioners Tortured with "Carrying a Sword on the Back"

    "Carrying a sword on the back" is one of the cruellest methods employed for torturing practitioners. The guards first pull the practitioner's hand behind his back by pulling his hand over the top of the shoulder of the same hand. They then pull the other hand up from the lower back. The wrists are then handcuffed together. Although most people who are tortured like this feel extreme pain in less than twenty minutes, practitioners are forced to stay in this position for up to four hours.
  • Mr. Wang Baojin Dies in Custody in Liaoning Province

    After the persecution started in July 1999, because Mr. Wang Baojin refused to give up his faith in Falun Gong he was fired. The police detained Mr. Wang in Yingkou City Detention Centre. In order to protest the persecution, Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike. The guards brutally force-fed him, causing him to cough up blood throughout the night. He was cruelly beaten multiple times and nailed onto the bed board. He was beaten so badly that he suffered from severe traumatic pleurisy, and was rushed to the hospital four times in two weeks. In July 2004, Huazi Prison authorities put Mr. Wang on forced labour duty and tortured him. Mr. Wang had been tortured so badly that he passed away on December 9th, 2009.
  • Large Scale Organ Harvesting in Guizhou Province Exposed

    In August 2006, the overseas media filed many reports about Guizhou Falun Gong practitioners Fu Keshu and Xu Genli. The practitioners had their organs removed and the their corpses were thrown into the wilderness. The eyeballs had been dug out and Xu Genli's visceral organs were taken out of the young man. Dr. Xu Jianchao from the kidney branch of Yale University analysed the pictures and saw many signs indicating that their organs were removed while they were alive. However, the CCP police claimed they both committed suicide, so the families' requests for further investigation were denied. The pictures of the remains were horrible to view and shocked many people both inside and outside of China.
  • Ms. Gao Yuxiang Arrested Again; Her Distraught Mother Dies

    Ms. Gao Yuxiang was subjected to two years of forced labour. After she was released, in order to avoid further harassment from the police, she left her hometown for years. On October 28th, 2009, she was again arrested by the police. Ms. Gao had been on a hunger strike at the Nanshan Detention Centre for over 19 days. She suffered from brutal force-feedings and one of her arms was injured due to being beaten. Currently, she is very weak. Her 76-year-old mother, who lived with her, was threatened by police officers and witnessed her daughter's arrest. She fell sick and passed away on November 8th, 2009.
  • Further Information on the Abuse that Led to Mr. Nian Shaotang's Death

    In 2000, 81-year-old Mr. Nian Shaotang was detained at the No. 2 Detention Centre for 56 days, which resulted in his becoming almost paralysed and developing prostatitis, a decline in the function of his kidneys, urine incontinence, and other serious physical problems. Mr. Nian never recovered from that brutal mistreatment. He passed away on July 1st, 2005. At that time, his son Nian Jingsheng was detained in the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp in Guangdong Province. His wife had no income to survive on, and died miserably ten months later.
