The media revealed the death of Falun Dafa practitioner Huang Zhao, a resident of Wuhan City, on April 16, 2004. Our investigation has uncovered more evidence regarding her murder by police in the Qiaokou District Police Department.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Zhao, born in 1972. Since she refused to write a statement renouncing her belief in Falun Dafa, she was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution and lived in a rented room in Hanyang. On April 1, after she was followed by Jin Zhiping (No. 1 Section Head of Qiaokou District Police Department) to her rented room, she was abducted and sent to Qiaokou District Police Department. According to inside sources, Huang Zhao was electrically shocked and beaten to death by police using electrical batons at 4:10 p.m. on April 2, 2004. In order to cover up their crime, the police claimed she committed suicide, and they also forced her family to sign an agreement of "accepting the judgment of suicide."
In order to cremate her body as soon as possible and destroy the criminal evidence, the vicious people mobilized many staff and police officers from the district "610 Office," police station, local administration, and residential committee. They surrounded the family, trying to threaten and intimidate them. The police told the family, "the person is already dead, you can get some money if you agree that suicide was the cause; otherwise, you will not get a penny." Her parents and brothers wanted to view her body, speak to the attending physician, and see her medical records, and they wanted to know how the efforts to resuscitate her were carried out. The police in charge refused to approve any of the family's requests. The parents said in grief, "My daughter was a practitioner who did not kill any living thing, she did not even kill flies or mosquitoes. In Falun Dafa killing is a sin. It is impossible for her to go to your police department and kill herself there. If she killed herself, show us the lethal weapon, give us her body, you do not need to deal with her body and we will accept everything."
The residential committee provided 30,000 Yuan relief fee, with the condition that the family will not reveal any information surrounding this incident.
On April 20, the police no longer showed up in Huang's home. Chief Wang of Hanzhong Street Residential Committee came to Huang's family saying, "Today we won't talk about suicide, you can bring up other demands, we only want to finish the funeral." Wang said that Huang Zhao's death could be treated as a traffic accident. According to the police regulations, for traffic-related deaths, the victim's family members can get 98,000 Yuan as compensation. However, they must deduct Huang Zhao's 70,000 Yuan medical expenses. Huang's mother expressed that she just wanted the truth about her daughter's death, and no other conditions. In the afternoon, Wang once again came to Huang's home saying, "We will not talk about suicide or traffic accident. Considering your family's financial difficulties, the residential committee will give your family 30,000 Yuan as a relief amount." However, he urged Huang's mother not to tell others about Huang Zhao being beaten to death in the police department. Huang's mother replied in tears, "I will tell this to others, I want to tell others that my daughter was beaten to death and my daughter was innocent."
Finally, without any choice, she agreed to accept the 30,000 relief amount. Huang's mother said, "I have no choice, what else can I do?"
On the morning of April 21, before Huang's family members could spend time saying their last farewells to Huang Zhao's body, the police cremated her. They did not even let the family take a final look at the deceased.
