On the 15th and 18th of November, Falun Gong practitioners were invited to a high school in Lerum to inform the students about Falun Gong during their lesson in religious knowledge. The students were also to try the five Falun Gong exercises. We were warmly welcomed by the staff when we visited the staff room before our presentation. The principal at the school adopted a positive attitude to our presentations.

In the teachers’ room we explained a bit more on what Falun Gong is. Some teachers were interested and wanted to join and listen to our presentation. So as well as a high school class it was also teachers who listened. We first told the students what Falun Gong is and explained its background. That it is a form of Qigong that consists of five exercises and that the practice is about cultivating both body and mind. A very important part of the practice of Falun Gong is to in the daily life live according to the three principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.

We also told them how the method was spreading in China and its positive effects on health. The students got to know about the cruel persecution that Falun Gong practitioners in China are still facing and how this cruel persecution started. We also demonstrated the five exercises included in the practice and the absolute majority in every class voluntarily learned the five exercises. During the week in November we held presentations in three high school-classes. A teacher who joined in and tried the exercises used to have problem with his back. When he tried the exercises he immediately felt much better. We also had material with us including newspapers and pamphlets about Falun Gong and the persecution that is happening against Falun Gong practitioners in China. After every class there were many students who took material to read.
