Germany: The People of Goettingen City have Learned that Falun Dafa is Good (2)

Some young Falun Gong practitioners in Goettingen demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and explained the facts about Falun Gong at the square in front of the old City Hall everyday from 2001 to 2003. Their perseverance has resulted in a series of changes in Goettingen city. Among them was conducting a full-semester course about Falun Gong in a University, the City government’s inviting Falun Gong practitioner and artist Zhang Cuiying to hold an art exhibition, the Mayor’s concern about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and the media’s positive reports about the issue, filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin on criminal charges with the Federal Supreme Court by an human rights organisation headquartered in Goettingen city during Jiang’s visit to Germany, etc.

A true story which happened in Goettingen (II)

Chinese Student: “I would like to make friends with you.”

There are a lot of Chinese students in Goettingen; at one time the number of Chinese students was over 2,000. After seeing Falun Gong practitioners more often, they have become accustomed to seeing them practicing the exercises. Afterwards, some of them admired the practitioners very much. Whenever passing by, they would approach the practitioners and greet them, or even say some caring words to them such as, “That girl who is practicing the exercises was my classmate; please remind her to put on more clothes next time.”

To make friends with a practitioner, one of the Chinese students once told a practitioner his name, but it turned out to be a pseudonym because of his self-defensive mentality as most of the Chinese students there had. One day, he went to a practitioner’s place and associated with other practitioners. Afterwards, he told a practitioner that he was ashamed of himself for having used a pseudonym to associate with them; while all of the practitioners used their real names and always dealt with things with sincerity and honesty. In the end, he wrote a poem for one of the practitioners, praising them for their sincerity and perseverance.

A common but touching story

One day, a childish-faced tall Asian boy stood in front of some practitioners, attentively watching their practicing Falun Gong exercises for a long time until they finished practicing all the exercises. On the following day, he came again together with his mother. Both of them attentively watched the practitioners practicing the exercises as if they had a thirst for learning the exercises. After talking to them, the practitioners finally came to know that they were from Mongolia. The sixteen-year-old boy was there for a study project and they would go back to Mongolia a month later. Afterward, they went to a practitioner’s place to watch the exercise-teaching video and brought back a copy of Zhuan Falun [the main text of Falun Dafa] in Russian.

Several practitioners have mentioned a touching story. A weird man who was often intoxicated and got practitioners into trouble went to a practice site from time to time, showing no respect for Falun Gong exercises. He was even running around to make the passersby laugh when practitioners were practising the exercises. At first, practitioners did nothing about it.

One day, a practitioner intended to stop him, as he thought that if this man continued to do so, it would not be good for his future. Therefore, he talked to him peacefully, “Please stop doing that, otherwise it would not be good for you.” At that moment, the man didn’t say anything. But after sitting there and watching practitioners practicing the exercises for almost two hours, his eyesight turned clear. Then he took some money out of his pocket and handed it to a practitioner. The practitioner told him that Falun Gong has never accepted donations. When the practitioner shook hands with him, he was so touched that his body seemed to be shaking. Since then on, that man went to the practice site as usual, but he has never got practitioners into any trouble. Instead, he often brought things like bread for the practitioners and copied practitioners to put two palms together in front of his chest in a traditional Chinese greeting.

Throughout the incident, many passersby had witnessed how Falun Gong practitioners dealt with the situation and they were impressed with the way practitioners handled the problem. As a result, their attitudes towards practitioners have changed significantly. From then on, the practitioners noticed that people’s indifferent attitudes towards them were gone.

“Falun Gong practitioners are doing the most righteous things there, would you please make a detour?”

With the passage of time, people in Goettingen have come to know more about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Moved by what practitioners have done, they often take the initiative to sign petitions and bring something for practitioners, such as flowers, food, etc. As Christmas is coming soon, one day when practitioners finished practicing the meditation and opened their eyes, they were surprised to find a sugar-coated apple in front of each of them.

From time to time, journalists often took the initiative to interview practitioners. As they had taken notice of the practitioners for a long time, they intended to have a long talk with practitioners so as to learn more about Falun Gong.

After learning the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong, a youngster earnestly signed the petition to show his support for Falun Gong, and then he left with a smiling face. However, within ten minutes, he came back again with joy and asked the practitioners if he could sign the petition again. Afterwards, when noticing a truck entering the square and running towards the practitioners who were practicing meditation, he took initiative to stop the truck and told the driver, “As they are doing most righteous things there, would you please make a detour?”

Constant drips wear down the stone

What these practitioners did seems to be nothing special, but with their perseverance for a long period of time, the facts about the persecution against Falun Gong in China have spread extensively in that region and their activities have been widely supported by not only the general public but local government as well.
The Chinese Communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong has been going on for over six years. During this period, a lot more Falun Gong practitioners have incessantly exposed the facts about Falun Gong to the general public. They intended to let people know the magnificence of Falun Gong, how it is cruelly oppressed in China, how Falun Gong practitioners proceed with peaceful petitions based on the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, how the practitioners in China risk their lives, regardless of tremendous pressure, to tell the public “Falun Gong is a righteous cultivation practice; it is not a crime to practice Falun Gong; the persecution of Falun Gong must be stopped.”

As an old saying goes, “Constant drips wear down the stone.” “With tenacious efforts, one can grind down an iron bar into a needle.” These kind of stories can be found in every corner the world. With Falun Gong practitioners’ incessant endeavours day by day, we are firmly convinced that justice will prevail and the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution against Falun Gong will be ended eventually.
