The annual Cultural Carnival of Bielefeld was held in the afternoon of Saturday, June 10th, 2006. A parade as long as one kilometre crossed the entire city. Aside from Bielefeld’s residents, visitors made special trips from other cities to take part in the parade. Brilliant sunshine also drew tourists. Everywhere there were joyful crowds in colourful costumes.
People learned that a few years ago, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners could still practice this peaceful traditional Qigong method in China. After the persecution began in July 1999, however, Falun Gong practitioners have suffered beyond words. Many innocent people are still being locked up in jails and labour camps where they are exploited as slave labour. The physical and mental torture they have been put through is unimaginable. Worse, their organs are harvested when they are still alive and sold for profit by the CCP while their bodies are cremated to get rid of the evidence.
According to some, the ancient country of China with thousands of years of culture and history has turned into an appalling sight under the CCP’s regime. In the last century the CCP, eager for quick profits, wantonly destroyed the treasured cultural heritage of the Chinese nation. Not only is the cultural heritage damaged to an unprecedented level, but the nature and people are also exploited without restraint to an extent where irreparable harm has been done.
Once again passer-bys asked about the true reasons behind the persecution suffered by practitioners from all walks of life. Till this day the CCP regime has failed to provide a satisfactory answer to the meaning of this persecution against belief. Those who saw the photos and learned the truth were stunned that for many years the CCP’s government officials, army, police have all been engaged in a 'dirty deal', openly or secretly. They try to hide their atrocities even under the watchful eyes of the people around the world. From this information day at Bielefeld, more people learned that, as the leaflet says, under China’s prosperous exterior hinds the fact that “human rights are trampled at will".
