Czech Republic: Falun Gong in Svitavy

On Friday July 14th, Falun Gong practitioners arrived in the town of Svitavy. Their banners, displayed inside an ancient archway, drew the attention of those who were passing by. That way, people of Svitavy could find out about the ancient meditation practice of Falun Gong and its ongoing persecution in China. Those who wished to protest against the persecution were encouraged to sign a petition. Other people were given leaflets with information on secret Chinese concentration camps where many Falun Gong practitioners have had their organs removed while they were still alive.

To many people, this piece of news was shocking. They often asked, "How come this is happening and if these things were already made public, why has not anyone done something to stop it?“ Leaflets were also distributed to all the Vietnamese merchants who run their shops in Svitavy Square. They were suprised they could read about Falun Gong and its persecution in Vietnamese. Some rushed to take a look at banners and find out more about Falun Gong. One man kissed the leaflet right after it was given to him.
