Retired teacher Ms. Li Yuqin, a practitioner from Zhuhai City, was not concerned that she was being monitored by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel when she decided to visit her home town at the end of August. Later her family members including her daughter were harassed many times.
On September 15th, the principal, Zhu Shaoer, and director, Wen Lihong, of her school broke into Li Yuqin's home, as they had several times before at the behest of CCP personnel from the Zhuhai 610 Office1 and Zhuhai Education Bureau. As nobody was home, they called Ms. Li's daughter and ordered her to tell her mother to call the principal. They also demanded to know the address of Ms. Li's home town, which the daughter revealed. At present, her daughter is under CCP monitoring and her telephones are tapped. Li Yuqin's safety is a serious concern.
Forced by the 610 Office, Zhuhai Education Bureau and the school where Ms. Li works have been monitoring her all year around. In July 2008, right before the 2008 Olympics Games, the director of the Education Bureau and principal Zeng Wei went to her home to inspect and search every single room. They also ordered her to report to them and told her she needed to get permission no matter where she wanted to go. When Ms. Li told them that she wanted to visit her home town, they refused her request.
Ms. Li Yuqin didn't listen to them. She went to Guangzhou to visit her daughter, who was studying in Guangzhu. The day she left, CCP personnel knew about it right away. They forced the school to find her. The school called her every day. (Her cell phone was tapped, so she never brought her mobile phone with her when she was out). She received a call from her school when she returned home after ten days. That same day, Principal Zhu Shaoer and Director Wen Lihong went to her home to check on her and made sure she was reported to the Zhuhai Education Bureau.
