Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bian Chunyan from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province was arrested on August 31st by officials from the Domestic Security Division of Taiping Police Department, the Jianshe Police Station, and the Xitie Police Station. She was transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp on September 28th with sentence of 21 months of forced labour. Her family is anxious about her situation and has suffered grief and difficulty without her.
Under orders from Huang Zhiping, head of the Domestic Security Division of Taiping Police Department, a group of police from Jianshe Police Station and Xitie Police Station broke into Ms. Bian’s home around noon on August 31st. They arrested her and then detained her at Xindi Detention Centre. They also took her laptop and other personal belongings.
Ms. Bian’s family is very anxious about her situation. Her father is in an extremely poor condition. Among her three older brothers, two have passed away, and her third brother has disability in his legs because of a traffic accident several years ago. Her mother, who is 77 years old, has to endure the difficulty of appealing to authorities and requesting her daughter’s release. After her daughter was arrested, she appealed to Huang Zhiping’s office seven times in one month. But Huang shirked his responsibilities, using various excuses.
On September 28th, before Ms. Bian was transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, police asked her family to visit her. They were holding her in the police vehicle and were parked in front of the Xindi Detention Centre (for only several minutes). Her father endured physical pain to take a taxi there. However, he was unable to see his daughter because the police drove away before he got out of the taxi, causing him severe grief.
