Junan County Teacher Mr. Fu Tingfa Taken to Brainwashing Centre

Junan County, Shandong Province practitioner Mr. Fu Tingfa was arrested on October 28th. He is confined at a brainwashing session held by the Linyi City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). This is the fourth time Mr. Fu has been incarcerated.

Mr. Fu Tingfa, 44, is a teacher in Junan County Shizi Road Town Third Primary School. In June 2001, he was arrested and detained at the county detention centre, where guards ordered inmates to beat him. He was released a month later after they extorted 5,000 yuan¹ from him. Six months after his release, he was again confined to a brainwashing session held by the county 610 Office.

Around 9:00 a.m. on September 15th, 2010, officers from the Junan County Chengbei Police Station, including its director Tian Peng, arrested Mr. Fu for not letting them inspect his computer. Fifteen days later, he was subjected to one year of forced labour. Tian Peng told others that he was punished because he shouted “Falun Gong is good”. He was taken to Shandong Province Secondary Forced Labour Camp on the morning of October 19th, 2011. Guards ordered inmates to beat him, and injured his retina. Ten days later, on October 30th, his retina fell out as a result of the injury. The labour camp didn't want to be held responsible and released him after extorting 2,000 yuan from his family.

Mr. Fu is not fully recovered despite spending nearly 10,000 yuan on surgeries. The Secondary Labour Camp tried to re-imprison him several times. After Mr. Fu protested and filed a lawsuit against the camp for his injury, the camp paid him 20,000 yuan in “financial aid” and dismissed his forced labour agreement a year later.

On October 12th, 2011, Linyi 610 Office, Junan County 610 Office, and their workplace administrators coerced Mr. Fu and 7 other practitioners into “having a conversation” in the county 610 Office.

Since he did not give in during the “conversation”, Mr. Fu was taken to the brainwashing centre on October 28th.

Another young practitioner, Ms. Qi Lei, is a teacher in Lunan County. She was arrested at work and taken directly to the Linyi brainwashing session on September 19th. Many people took turns besieging her, verbally insulting and abusing her. Ms. Qi has been imprisoned in a forced labour camp twice since February 2010. She suffered from a mental disorder for some time as a result of persecution. She was released from the brainwashing session on October 17th. On October 27th, 12 people from Junan County 610 Office and their administrative office went to Ms. Qi's parents' home and harassed them under the guise of resolving Ms. Qi's salary dispute.
