  • United States: Falun Gong Procession Shines at the Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade

    The Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade sponsors a selected 80 organisations from across the U.S. to participate in the performance. The Mid-U.S. Falun Dafa Association's "Flag and Drum Troupe", which shone in the 2004 Chicago Thanksgiving Parade, was invited to take part in the event and served as the only oriental representative.

    In order to let more people know that Falun Dafa is good, practitioners from Taiwan travelled to Hong Kong. Regardless of rain or shine, we strove hard to let people know about the brutal persecution. A photo exhibition allowed people to experience the beauty of Falun Gong and also exposed the systematic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners taking place in China.

    On May 21st and 22nd, drumming and music resounded in Missouri Botanical Garden to celebrate the annual Chinese Culture Days event. Local Chinese organisations and a Chinese newspaper cooperated to hold a large activity. This year, practitioners in St. Louis were also among the event's organisers.

  • U.S. Federal Court in Illinois Accepts Motion of Lawsuit Against Wang Xudong, Former CCP Secretary of Hebei Province

    On the morning of May 26, 2005, the U.S. Federal Court in Illinois accepted a motion of a lawsuit filed against former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Secretary of Hebei Province, Mr. Wang Xudong, currently the Minister of the Information Industry Department. This is an important victory for the plaintiffs, Falun Dafa practitioners, and indicates that the U.S. Court is concerned about the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

    After its success at National Chung Cheng University, from May 9 to May 13, the "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition jointly sponsored by Falun Dafa Clubs from the various universities in Taiwan was held at National Chung Shan University (NCSU).
  • Russia: Practitioners from St. Petersburg Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day

    On World Falun Dafa Day, practitioners held celebratory activities in St. Petersburg. Three information boards were set up in Neva Street to let people know more about Falun Gong and a banner reading “The World Needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” attracted the attention of other passers-by.

    Repressions of freedoms are still rampant in China despite the insertion of human rights as a new clause to its Constitution, London-based Amnesty International said Wednesday. "Human rights defenders and grassroots activities continued to be arbitrarily detained or put under house arrest during political sensitive periods in China," the annual report issued by the watchdog says in its section on China. Religious groups, such as Falun Gong, unauthorized Christian groups, and the so-called "separatists" in Xinjiang, continue to be subject of repression, it says.

The Falun Gong practitioners' procession was eye-catching, with a beautiful float and exercise demonstration.

    It has been nearly five years since practitioners began practising the exercises in City Government Park in Penang. There are often many people in this park.
