Practitioner Ms. Sun Shuhua Recounts Torture at Dagang Women's Forced Labour Camp in Tianjin
2011-03-01Disabled practitioner Ms. Sun Shuhua was arrested for discussing the facts about Falun Gong. Later on, she was sent to Dagang Women's Forced Labour Camp and tortured. She recounts: "The head of the division arranged for some inmates to brainwash me every day. They instructed the inmates to force me to stand still or sit on a small stool from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.. Even though they knew I was disabled, they would force me to stand against the wall so closely that my toes, stomach and nose were up against it at the same time." -
Ms. Wang Dongjiao Arrested Eight Times and Sent to a Mental Hospital
2011-03-01Practitioner Ms. Wang Dongjiao has suffered persecution repeatedly because of her belief in Falun Gong. Between March 18th, 2000 and June 2005, she was arrested eight times and was detained in detention centres or forced labour camps and sent to a mental hospital. In Majialong Forced Labour Camp in November 2001, she often felt dizzy and threw up after eating. Once, another practitioner, Ms. Chen, ate Ms. Wang's food by mistake and she had similar symptoms of severe stomach pains while Ms. Wang had didn't have these symptoms after the meal. Ms. Wang was convinced that there was some kind of unknown drugs being put into her food in order to "transform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] her by causing her state of mind to be unclear. -
Ms. Li Hongzhen from Shanghai Arrested Again
2011-03-01Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Hongzhen, in her 50s, from Shanghai was arrested on February 18th, 2011. Ms. Li was previously sentenced to five years in prison in 2001, and held in Shanghai Women's Prison. In prison, guards and inmates continually harassed her and forced her to do heavy labour. When Ms. Li heard that a deputy to the National People's Congress would come to inspect the prison in 2002, she wrote a letter exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and asked a practitioner to help pass it to the deputy. She was reported and placed into solitary confinement. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Pei Yanqing from Qinglong County Tortured to Death in Qinhuangdao City Forced Labour Camp
2011-02-28Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Pei Yanqing lived in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. While detained at the Qinhuangdao City Labour Camp, he was tortured until he was on the verge of death. His chest was blackened with bruises, and he lost control of his bodily functions, both bladder and bowels. To avoid responsibility for Mr. Pei's death, Mutoudeng Town officials sent him home. Four days later, Mr. Pei passed away on February 20th, 2011. -
Doctor Liu Deqing from Hailun, Heilongjiang, Persecuted in Prison
2011-02-28Ms. Liu Deqing, a doctor in Hailun Health Hospital was persecuted in Heilongjiang Women's Prison for more than two years. Her whole body swelled up. The prison sent her back home on February 1st, 2011. Heilongjiang Women's Prison has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners for many years and it has caused many practitioners' death or disability. It reduces sentences for prisoners who beat Falun Gong practitioners, so the prisoners torture practitioners, tear off their clothes in winter and then splash cold water on them and let them stand in the wind. They needle practitioners, inject them with unknown drugs, shock them with electric batons, hang heavy things off them, cuff them, deprive them of sleep, force them to stand still and squat still, put unknown drugs in their meals and more. -
Release my Eldest Brother, Peng Liang, Unconditionally
2011-02-28The new year is coming and everyone else is preparing for New Year celebrations, but my family was torn apart by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because of our belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Five of us have been arrested, sent to forced labour camps, and sentenced by the Wuhan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) many times. My mother and my second elder brother were persecuted to death; my father developed a mental disorder due to the persecution and was recently released from a two-month arrest; I was sentenced to three years' imprisonment when I was 22 years old. My eldest brother, Peng Liang, was seized on December 13, 2010. He was detained for 15 days and then sent to Yangyuan Brainwashing Centre in the Wuchang District, Wuhan City. He has not yet been released. -
Ms. Yang Conzhi Covertly Sentenced to Four Years of Imprisonment, Her Husband Disabled as a Result of Persecution
2011-02-28Ms.Yan Congzhi was arrested in September by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). For the past three months, her family has tried in vain to visit her. The local 610 Office, public security bureau, and detention centre have shirked responsibility and has denied her family visitation rights. It was only in January 2011 that her son found out that she had been sentenced to four years of imprisonment. Her husband was also previously sentenced to a forced labour camp, and the torture he suffered there caused him to become paralysed from the waist down. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Hua Died Five Years Ago as a Result of Brutal Mistreatment in Qiqihar City Forced Labour Camp
2011-02-27Ms. Li Hua, 58, was arrested in 2005 because she practised Falun Gong. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour, and taken to Qiqihar City Forced Labour Camp. It is not known yet what kinds of torture Ms. Li received there, but after 11 months, when she was released on July 8th, 2006, she looked much older, was extremely slow-minded, and could hardly talk. She passed way on July 28th, 2006. -
63-Year-Old Mr. Luo Chaoming, Still Recovering from Prior Abuse, Again Detained in Deyang Prison
2011-02-27Deyang Prison officials recently deceived Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Luo Chaoming who had been released on medical parole into going to the prison by claiming to be “making up for health checkup data,” and then held him in custody. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents had previously arrested Mr. Luo for spreading information about Falun Gong and sentenced him to imprisonment. Severe physical abuse and mistreatment in prison resulted in Mr. Luo being in a life-threatening condition. He was released on medical parole and he began to recover through practising Falun Gong. -
A Doctor in Baojing County, Hunan Province Brutally Persecuted for Over a Decade
2011-02-27Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Zuoyou has been persecuted by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since 1999. He has been arrested many times, his home has been ransacked, he was forced to attend brainwashing sessions, and he has been put in forced labour camps and psychiatric hospitals. Mr. Xu was badly injured as a result of being brutally treated in the forced labour camp. He has no feeling in his chest, torso, hands, or legs. He has difficulty walking and taking care of himself. -
Mudanjiang Railway Employee Mr. Zhang Liansheng Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
2011-02-27The Mudanjiang Railway Transportation Court recently sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Liansheng to five years in prison, without any legal grounds. The court deliberately did not notify Mr. Zhang's family. Mr. Zhang was arrested at work on December 7th, 2010 by the police. He was detained at the Aihe Forced Labour Camp in Mudanjiang. -
Nine Years and Fifteen Days of Persecution
2011-02-26I started practising Falun Gong in June 1996. I had a variety of illnesses prior to practising, and had no money for medical treatments. After practising Falun Gong for a period of time, I became physically healthy and all my illnesses disappeared. I began conducting myself according to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and became a better person. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. I have been harassed and mistreated during the past ten years. I was detained at a detention centre for 45 days, in Xishanping Forced Labour Camp for one year and eleven months, and in Yongchuan Prison for seven years. I have been detained for a total of nine years and 15 days. -
Older Sister Arrested the Day After Her Brainwashed Younger Sister Is Released
2011-02-26On January 17th, Ms. Wang Dongying was arrested by Baoshan District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Shanghai. The 610 Office claimed Dongying’s younger sister, Ms. Wang Wenju, reported her to the authorities. The police found 1,000 yuan with Falun Gong information written on them at Ms. Wenju's home. The authorities told her as long as she admitted to the money coming from her older sister, she would be released and they would not bother her sister. Ms. Wenju had been brainwashed by the 610 Office for three months, became mentally disorientated and so cooperated with the authorities. She was released the same day Ms. Dongying was arrested. -
Ms. Chu Xiuhe Tortured and Poisoned with Unknown Drugs at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison
2011-02-26Practitioner Ms. Chu Xiuhe has been arrested twice for practising Falun Gong and was sentenced to a total of seven years in prison. She was subjected to physical abuse and torture in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison between January 2004 and November 2006, and again between April 2007 and October 2008. Prison guards instructed prisoners to inject Ms. Chu with unknown substances and to lace her food with poisonous drugs, causing her to be in a confused state of mind. She was weak and unable to walk on her own. She could not take care of herself. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Xixiang Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
2011-02-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Xixiang was repeatedly persecuted for her belief. She was in a forced labour camp from 2002 to 2004. On November 17th, 2008 she was again arrested, tortured, and severely injured. She was given a four-year prison sentence in April 2009 and sent to the Jinan Women’s Prison, where she remains. The persecution caused her family great harm. Her mother-in-law and husband died recently, after the long-term mental pressure brought to them by the persecution.
