  • Mr. Zheng Huiwang Brutally Tortured in Baoding Prison

    Mr. Zheng Huiwang has been incarcerated in Baoding Prison, Hebei Province since March 2008 for practicing Falun Gong. He has been brutally tortured and is now on a hunger strike to protest the horrific abuse. His wife tried to visit him on February 10th, but the prison refused to let her see him. Mr. Zheng is currently being subjected to brutal, punitive forced-feeding, which is intensifying his suffering.
  • Henan Teacher Dies While Serving 7 Years for Her Faith

    A 53-year-old teacher in Shenqiu County, Henan Province died while serving a 7-year prison term for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Ms. Wang had developed severe health problems during her nearly year-long detention at Shenqiu County Detention Centre, where she was forced to do hard labour every day while awaiting trial. Despite her poor health, the police forced Xinxiang Women’s Prison to admit Ms. Wang on July 29th, 2013. Not long afterward, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The prison authorities, however, refused to release her on medical parole. Ms. Wang died on December 21st, 2016. The authorities ordered her body cremated shortly afterwards, disregarding her family’s wishes to take her body back to their hometown.
  • Elderly Heilongjiang Woman Persecuted to Death

    Ms. Li Yulan, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Daqing, passed away on January 1st, 2017 at the age of 71. She was arrested on December 26th, 2016, for distributing Falun Dafa calendars. After she was arrested, Ms. Li was handcuffed to a chair in the police department and questioned about the source of the calendars. She refused to divulge any information. Before her death, Ms. Li filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. In her lawsuit she also requested that people be allowed to practise Falun Dafa legally.
  • Mr. Zhang Bingwu Persecuted to Death

    Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Zhang Bingwu of Jingyuan county, Gansu province, died eight months after he was arrested. Mr. Zhang had been held for six months at the Jingyuan detention centre. Mr. Zhang passed away on January 26th, 2017 with a brain tumour. He was arrested for putting up posters carrying information about Falun Gong on May 13th, 2016. After his death, the judge still harassed the family on February 6th, 2017 via phone calls.
  • 1,162 Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced for Their Belief by Chinese Communist Regime in 2016

    More than a thousand Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced for speaking out against the persecution of their belief by the Chinese Communist Party in 2016. Those sentenced represent 29 provinces and centrally-controlled municipalities in China. They come from all walks of life, including teachers, engineers, doctors, company managers, and business people, as well as retired military and police officers. The longest term—13 years in prison—was handed down to Mr. Wang Desheng, a practitioner from Ningxia Province. His wife, Ms. Shan Jining, was sentenced to three years.
  • Ms. Chen Loses Eyesight After Being Poisoned in Labour Camp

    Ms. Chen Guizhen, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xuyong County, lost sight in her left eye as a result of being poisoned in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp more than a decade ago. She was given soya milk to drink by the guards. She describes her reaction: "My heart began beating so fast that it felt like it would explode out of my chest. I started having convulsions and was unable to move. They took me to a hospital where I was injected with unknown drugs. I then lost my memory. The inmates grabbed my hands and forced me to sign the three statements to renounce Falun Gong. I gradually began losing sight in that eye and eventually it became completely blind."
  • Belated News: Former Falun Gong Coordinator in Daqing Dies 4 Days after His Arrest in 1999

    Mr. Li Baoshui, a Daqing resident, died days into his arrest on July 22nd, 1999, two days after the Chinese communist regime openly launched its persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.   • Defence Attorney Not Allowed to Defend Falun Gong Practitioner

    Ms Deng Lijuan is a Falun Gong practitioner in Yushu City, Jilin Province. She was put on trial on September 21st, 2016 by the Dunhua City Court. The lawyer whom Ms. Deng's family hired for her, was not allowed in the court by the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). In court, Ms. Deng described how she was tortured during a brutal interrogation by the police. “I was not allowed to sleep. They tied me to the tiger bench and poured cold water on me. They pulled out much of my hair."
  • Sichuan Man Dies While Imprisoned for His Faith

    Mr. Huang Shunkun was arrested on August 23rd, 2012, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. He was sentenced to 10 years on May 7th, 2013. He was detained in a detention centre, then transferred to Aba Prison. Mr. Huang was subjected to constant abuse. He was often forced to climb up and down stairs for hours on end. He died on September 30th, 2016.
  • Liaoning Man Dies 9 Days after Arrest for His Faith, Family Suspects Foul Play

    A Liaoyang County resident, Mr. Jiang Deting, died on July 7th, nine days after he was arrested for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Mr. Jiang was seized from his home on June 28th of this year. His family was shocked to see him in critical condition when they were asked to pick him up on July 7th. Mr. Jiang passed away hours after he was released on bail that day. His family suspects he suffered severe internal injuries due to torture.
  • Retired Teacher Dies 3 Weeks After Release on Medical Parole

    Retired teacher Ms. Xu Huixian, 71, was serving 3.5 years for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. She was reduced to skin and bones within less than one year of her admission to Gansu Province Women’s Prison. Ms. Xu died on July 8th, three weeks after she was released on medical parole.

    A 38-year-old woman in Zhuhai City was tortured to death on June 17th, 2002, nine months after her arrest for making informational materials about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Ms. Yuan Zheng’s family was not issued a death certificate until five years later. They were shocked to see “severe malnutrition” listed as the cause of death. They sought justice for her, but without success.
  • Imprisoned Inner Mongolia Man Tortured to Death for His Faith

    Mr. Fang Qingchang was tortured to death on June 25th at Baoanzhao Prison in Inner Mongolia. He was serving four years for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. When his wife visited him two months ago, he was already emaciated and appeared to be very weak. According to insiders, he was subjected to brutal beatings and extra workload four days before his death.
  • Newsweek Reports on China's Organ Harvesting from Political Prisoners

    The World edition of Newsweek online carried a report titled “Is China Still Harvesting Organs From Its Political Prisoners?” by Jessica Firger on June 15th, 2016. This article reported that U.S. House Resolution 343, which passed unanimously on the evening of June 13th, 2016, calls on China's communist regime to immediately stop forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.
