Ms. Xu Chensheng Suffers Persecution
2009-04-09
Ms. Xu Chensheng has suffered a great deal due to persecution from the Chinese Communist Party for practising Falun Gong. Such persecution includes detention, fines, housing surveillance, having her wages cut by the Chenzhou Cigarette Factory and she was also forced to divorce. In March 2005, the Chenzhou Cigarette Factory cooperated with the 610 Office and attempted to send her to a brainwashing class. In order to avoid persecution, Ms. Xu was compelled to abandon her home and job and was homeless for a month. The factory dismissed her. Afterwards, she was detained for 15 days for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. -
Teacher Ms. Han Yuheng Arrested In Beijing
2009-04-09On February 20th, 2009, Ms. Han Yuheng, 40, and seven colleagues went to Beijing on business. They checked into a hotel. Because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) government registers practitioners in a nationwide computer system, Ms. Han's residential ID number triggered a warning signal during check-in. The Domestic Security Section was alerted, and they informed the police station. On February 21st, police ordered a hotel worker to open the door of Ms. Han's room, and they proceeded to search her belongings. They seized Falun Gong related material. They arrested Ms. Han and took her to the police station. Ms. Han was transferred to a detention centre and is still in detention. -
162 Practitioners in Weifang City, Shandong Province Sentenced to Prison Terms or Sent to Forced Labour Camps in 2008
2009-04-09Under the pretext of last year's Beijing Summer Olympics, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Weifang had intensely persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Lu Fan, around 55, was seized in the end of October 2007 and held at the Changle Detention Centre and was sentenced to four years in prison in March 2008. Lu Fan had previously been sent to three years of forced labour in 2001. -
Despite Painful Torture, Ms. Shi Xiuzhen Refuses to Renounce Falun Gong, Which Cured Her Bone Cancer
2009-04-09On March 18th, 2008, a car with no licence plate parked in front of practitioner Shi Xiuzhen's house in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. Four plain clothes policemen got out of the car and went into the house, ransacked it and beat up Ms. Shi. They took away over one thousand yuan in cash, a motorcycle, a TV, a satellite dish, two mobile phones, and Falun Gong books. They arrested Ms. Shi and took her to the Xinzhan Police Station. They attempted to arrest her husband Liu Zhaofu (also a practitioner), but they were unsuccessful. Police handcuffed Ms. Shi and hung her up by one hand. Neither of her feet were on the ground, and they kept her like this all night. The torture caused excruciating pain to Ms. Shi's bones all over her whole body; it was truly unbearable. -
Ms. Hu Aiyun Describes Her Persecution Experience and Ten-month Hunger Strike
2009-04-08Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Aiyun was arrested by the police and sentenced to eleven years of imprisonment. She was taken on May 12th, 2004 to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. There she was subjected to many types of torture. Hu Aiyun had no choice but to hold hunger strikes many times to protest the persecution. This time her hunger strike has lasted more than ten months. She has been brutally force-fed by guards. She is emaciated and the prison have refused to allow visits by her family members. -
Ms. Li Suxue from Fengtai District in Beijing Died Under Persecution in Detention
2009-04-08On October 1st, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Suxue, 49 years old, was tortured to death at a forced labour camp. After Ms. Li's death, her family asked that her body be released to them. Authorities from the forced labour camp refused to release the body and forbade anyone to take pictures or videotape the body. They did not allow practitioners to attend Li Suxue's funeral and arrested those who came to pay their last respects at the funeral. -
The Tragic Story of Mr. Li Qingsong's Family
2009-04-08Mr. Li Qingsong and his wife are both Falun Gong practitioners. Since the Communist regime in China began persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, their family could no longer enjoy peace. The couple have spent more time apart than together. The child had to live sometimes without his dad's care, and sometimes without his mom's love, and sometimes without both, completely losing the carefree life he enjoyed before. Mr. Li's elderly parents also suffer from worrying about their son, daughter-in-law, and daughter constantly being arrested and put into labour camps. Currently Mr. Li is held in the Qian'an City Detention Centre. It has been 15 months. -
Practitioner Ms. Kuang Deying Persecuted in Forced Labour Camp for Six Years, Secretly Sentenced to Four-year Prison Term
2009-04-08Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Kuang Deying is from Kunming City, Yunnan Province. After being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for six years in a forced labour camp she was again arrested on July 16th, 2008, police. She was taken to the Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City Detention Centre that same night. In December 2008, the Qiaojia County Court secretly sentenced Ms. Kuang to a four-year prison term. Ms. Kuang did not accept the verdict and requested an appeal. -
Mr. Zhao Xun Imprisoned for Eight Years--610 Office Plots to Continue Persecuting Him
2009-04-07Mr. Zhao Xun, 40, is a practitioner from Hubei Province. Once the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Zhao was persecuted as well. He was steadfast in his belief and he explained the facts about Falun Gong to others. As a result, he was arrested under orders from the CCP 610 Office on April 18th, 2001. Later, a CCP court sentenced him to eight years in prison. In 2002, he was taken to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City, Hubei Province. Mr. Zhao did not follow the unreasonable demands while he was in prison, and the guards retaliated by brutally mistreating him. They made him work in an unsafe brick kiln and forced him to stack bricks while they were still red hot. -
Inner Mongolia: Practitioners Tortured with Electric Shocks to Force them to Do Heavy Labour
2009-04-07The practitioners held in Tumuji Forced Labour Camp tried to resist being forced to work overtime to make handmade carpets for export. The job of making carpets is 7 days a week. Except for Sunday night, the practitioners have to work overtime until 8:30 p.m. every night. This year, the overtime has been extended to 10 or even 11p.m.. They don't have time to wash their clothes. The workshop where the carpets are made is very dusty, which makes it difficult to breathe. If anyone refuses to work, he or she is immediately punched, kicked, and electrically shocked. The person will be threatened with an extended sentence. -
Mr. Huang Weizhong Once Again Persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party Even after His Wife Was Tortured to Death
2009-04-07On February 12th, 2009, police officers arrested Mr. Huang Weizhong at home. Since he did not co-operate with the police, he was severely beaten. The police tied up his hands and legs and beat him. One of his shoes was knocked off. His eyelids were extremely swollen and one of he almost lost sight in one of them. As a result of the beating, he became incontinent. The police tried to force him to sign to a list of things confiscated from his house. Mr. Huang Weizhong's wife, Zhang Xiaogeng, had been jailed for three years and tortured in Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. As a result of the different forms of persecution, she died on September 13th, 2006. -
Police Arrest Mr. Chen Xinhong's Entire Family in Zibo City, Shandong Province, His Wife's Whereabouts Unknown
2009-04-07Since the beginning of 2009, the 610 Office and the Domestic Security Section in Zhoucun District, Zibo City, Shandong Province, have arrested at least 8 practitioners. The practitioners' whereabouts and status are unknown. On February 9th, the police went to Mr. Chen Xinhong's home and arrested him without a warrant. The police said that he was reported for distributing Falun Gong DVDs. On February 14th, Mr. Chen's family went to the Zhoucun District 610 Office to ask about visiting him. Instead of telling the family his whereabouts, Ding Qingming of the 610 Office called the Domestic Security Section to arrest the other family members, -
Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Meiying Tortured to Death in Shandong Province
2009-04-06Police arrested Ms. Wang. She was held at the Chiping County Detention Centre for two days, and then secretly taken to Jinan Women's Forced Labour Camp, without notifying her family. Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest being persecuted. Guards at the labour camp tortured her inhumanly with brutal torture methods, such as sitting on a small stool for long times and standing facing a wall. Besides, she was cruelly force-fed three times. The tube through which she was fed was forced into her and severely damaged her right lung. The injury to the lung caused it to stop functioning. On March 22nd, 2009, she came down with a fever and she died the following day. -
Jilin Forced Labour Camp Persecuted Practitioners Wang Yajun and Zhao Shujie
2009-04-06The guards in Ward VI in the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province forced practitioners to perform slave labour in order to make huge profits. Even practitioners who were handicapped from the persecution could not escape. Practitioners were forced to work over ten hours a day. Ms. Wang Yajun was in perfect health when she arrived at the forced labour camp. As a result of persecution, she was made unable to properly walk and her vision was blurred. Practitioner Ms. Zhao Shujie was disabled from torture by guards. -
A Good Doctor Sent to Jinan Jail After Being Detained for Over Two Years
2009-04-06Mr. Li Guoen, a Falun Gong practitioner, was sent to Jinan Prison in December 23rd, 2008. Prior to this, he had been detained for over two years. In March 2006, he was sentenced to four years imprisonment and was jailed at Laixi Detention Centre. During his detention, he was made to treat ill inmates. His family was not allowed to visit him.
