Products Made by Detainees at Jilin Province Women’s Labour Camp
2013-04-26After July 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, the number of Jilin detainees increased dramatically. From 2000 to 2001, it reached a peak of 3,000. The arts and crafts products were exported to Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and other countries. Falun Gong practitioners were forced to work 15 -18 hours daily in Jilin Province Labour Camp. The work area was on the same floor as our cell. The conditions were terrible. Feathers filled the air,and stuck to clothing, bed sheets, and dishes. The air was filled with a strong odour from the feathers, dyes, and adhesives. -
Mr. Qian Fajun Dies after Torture in Shandong Forced Labour Camp
2013-04-26Mr. Qian Fajun could not take care of himself after he returned home from the Shandong No. 2 Men's Forced Labour Camp in January 2012. His health kept deteriorating, and he died on April 17th, 2013, at the age of 44. Mr. Qian was arrested at home in September 2011 and taken to the Linyi Brainwashing Centre. Brainwashing centre head Su Wei force-fed him as a means of torture and laced his food with poisonous substances, which left him in a severely debilitated physical condition. After he was sent to the forced labour camp Mr. Qian started a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was force-fed for long periods of time. -
Firsthand Account of the Brutal Brainwashing Tactics at Xili Brainwashing Centre, Written by Ms. Zhang Fuying Before Her Death
2013-04-22Ms. Zhang Fuying died as a result of persecution on February 18th, 2013. Her handwritten manuscript exposing the persecution she experienced at Xili Brainwashing Centre in 2006 was found in her remaining belongings and is presented here. The atrocities conducted by the Xili Brainwashing Centre leading to her death are still being investigated. -
Investigation Lead: In 2006 Luo Qintian of Chengde, Hebei Province Had Two Liver Transplants within Ten Days
2013-04-19Luo Qintian, a driver for the Agricultural Bank of Chengde, Hebei Province, went to a local hospital in January 2006 and was told he had to have a liver transplant or he would die. Mr. Luo chose to have a liver transplant. His liver transplant surgery was done immediately. After a few days, the surgery was confirmed to be a failure. Luo had the second surgery, which also was a failure. The source of organs is suspicious when two matching livers were obtained within ten days. -
Jixi City 610 Office Continues to Detain Falun Gong Practitioners After Prison Terms End
2013-04-19Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, in the Jixi City area of Heilongjiang Province, more than 400 Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested, detained, put in forced labour camps, or sentenced to prison. At least 23 practitioners have died as a result of persecution. In many cases, when practitioners' labour camp or prison sentences have been completed, instead of releasing them, the Jixi 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) transfers them to brainwashing centres, where the persecution then continues. -
Exposing the Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners in Heilongjiang Province Women's Forced Labour Camp
2013-04-19Falun Gong practitioners sent to the labour camp are immediately given brainwashing. Every morning, inmates had to get up at 5 a.m., and they were only allowed to go to bed late between 10 – 12 midnight. There were no breaks in between, and they were not allowed to use the toilet for extended periods of time. Practitioners were made to sit on small stools less than one foot high and watch programmes slandering Falun Gong. They had to write guarantee statements renouncing their belief. If they refused to watch the programs or shut their eyes, guards would physically punish them. And if they refused to write statements, their prison sentence would be extended. -
Doctor Mr. Yin Weibin from Ningxiang County, Hunan Province Persecuted and Mistreated at Xingkaipu Forced Labour Camp
2013-04-11Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yin Weibin was arrested in June 2012 and detained at the Xingkaipu Forced Labour Camp in Changshai City, Hunan Province, where he is still being held today. He has been brainwashed, and beaten by prisoners who were instigated by guards at the camp. As a result of the abuse, he has suffered from abdominal pain, and his health is deteriorating. -
Suspicious Circumstances Surrounding the Death of Ms. Shan Muzhi from Jiujiang City
2013-04-11Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shan Muzhi from Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, never returned after leaving her home around 6 p.m. on February 25th, 2013. Her family called the police department the next day to make inquiries and was told by an officer to “go look for her at the Hejiashan Crematorium!” The family was also told that she died of a heart attack. When the police realized, as they were taking her to the hospital, that she had already died, they decided to take her to the crematorium instead. -
Wife Followed and Monitored by Police after Her Husband Died
2013-04-11Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Li Hongkui, from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province died as a result of persecution on August 28th, 2012. The local officials followed and monitored Mr. Li's family, fearing that they would appeal to higher authorities. On March 8th, 2013, Ms. Bai Qun, Mr. Li's wife, went to a hospital to fetch some medicine, when she found that three people were following her. -
Mr. Jiang Xiqing Cremated Alive, His Children Seeking Justice
2013-04-11Over six hours after Mr. Jiang Xiqing was pronounced dead by the guards at the forced labour camp, at around 10:10 p.m. on January 28th, 2009, his children found his philtrum, chest, abdomen, and thighs still warm. They were astonished, and cried out, “Our father didn't die. He is alive!” “Hurry up, please save our dad! Save our dad! He is still alive!” The children tried to apply CPR, but over two dozen guards from the forced labour camp forcibly dragged Mr. Jiang's body out of the cold storage of the funeral home. His daughter has been seeking justice for my father ever since, and have been threatened and detained for hiring a lawyer. -
Over One Thousand Chinese Citizens Sign Petition Requesting Release of Falun Gong Practitioners from Jiamusi Prison
2013-04-09Since the persecution of Falun Gong began over 10 years ago, a vast majority of Chinese people had been frightened and deceived by the Communist regime's vicious propaganda against Falun Gong. However, Falun Gong practitioners' perseverance in reaching out to the public with the facts about the persecution has gradually turned the situation around. In a rising trend throughout China, common citizens are finding the courage to sign and fingerprint petitions and letters of support for persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. These petitions are part of the growing tide of public outrage and protest over 14 years of unjust and brutal persecution of Falun Gong. -
Elderly Practitioner Imprisoned, His Wife Passes Away from Stress
2013-04-09Mr. Li Jinsheng, 73, posted some Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution along the roadside on September 11th, 2012, . He was arrested and taken to the Yinchuan Police Station and then sent to to the Tongjiang Detention Centre. Mr. Li's wife, Ms. Zhou Guilin, 65, was also arrested and taken to the police station. Mr. Li was sentenced to three years in prison, and was taken to Jiamusi City Prison. When Ms. Zhou heard that her husband had been sentenced, she was so upset that an old illness recurred. She was rushed to the hospital on February 12th and passed away on February 23rd, 2013. -
Atrocities Committed at Changchun Hezuizi Women’s Forced Labour Camp
2013-04-07Ms. Liu Jun, 52, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun who was sentenced to forced labour for one year. Since she refused to write repentance statements to renounce practising Falun Gong she was subjected to beatings, being forced to stand for long periods of time, and sleep deprivation. She was forced to stand for extended periods of time, daily, for one month beginning on May 8th, 2012. She was then forced to sit on a small bench for another month, daily, from 5:30 a.m. to midnight. -
Practitioners Li Yuzhen and Yang Zongquan Jailed in Detention Centre for Over Two Years--Warden Refuses to Release Them Alive
2013-04-07Practitioners Li Yuzhen from Jiaozhou City and Yang Zongquan were arrested by police officers from the Beiguan Police Station in Jiaozhou City in March 2011. Both were later sentenced to prison terms. The Jiaozhou City Detention Centre has held them since then, for over two years. Their family members have requested that the detention centre release them so that they may seek medical treatment, but their requests were rejected. Jiaozhou City Detention Centre warden Jiang Yansheng recently stated, “I will not release them alive.” -
Elderly Crop Production Scientist in Heilongjiang Province Bedridden as a Result of Persecution, His Salary Suspended
2013-04-05Mr. Yu Liangbin, 74, was an agronomist and researcher in the Suihua Agriculture Institute of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Heilongjiang Province. His research has resulted in tremendous achievements for improved rice production worldwide. However, Mr. Yu was sentenced to three years in prison and taken to Hulan Prison at the end of June 2007. While in prison, the nearly 70-year-old scientist was beaten by four convicts, who followed the guards' orders and also forced him to remain standing for over ten days and deprived him of sleep. The inmates taunted him, saying, “We'll make you wish you were dead!”
