Former Dongfeng Automobile Company Official Ms. Zhang Shoufeng Persecuted for Eight Years

Former secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Dongfeng Automobile Company, Ms. Zhang Shoufeng, was an honest official. For the past eight years, she has been subjected to persecution, detention, and forced brainwashing for her belief in Falun Dafa and "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." In mid-November 2003, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to five years in prison. She is still in prison. Those practitioners that were not "transformed", such as Ms. Zhang, were locked in a separate room. A team consisting of 6 to 10 trained criminals was set up to persecute practitioners. Practitioners were not allowed to fall asleep or go to the toilet. They forced practitioners to sit all day long in an upright posture. It is very difficult for people to maintain that position for 24 hours a day. Ms. Zhang was tortured like this for more than three months, and her blood pressure reached 200. -
Husband and Wife Practitioners Han Xianji and Ren Guirong Suffer Persecution in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province
2007-11-04In August 2007, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in the local government in Shendian Township started a new round of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They broadcast it to the entire town and encouraged the villagers to report Falun Gong practitioners. Local government officials declared that whoever reported a practitioner would get a 200 yuan reward; whoever turned in a Falun Gong poster would get a 100 yuan reward; and whoever found out about a Falun Gong gathering would get a reward of up to 1,000 yuan. On August 9th, practitioners Ren Guirong and Han Xianji exposed the persecution of Falun Gong and explained the importance of quitting the CCP to Tang Shenghua. Tang Shenghua, however, lured by the temptation of rewards, reported the couple to authorities. As a result, Tang received the 200 yuan reward. -
Persecution at the No. 7 Division of Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labour Camp
2007-11-04Practitioner Li Baolin, who is in his sixties, was assaulted in the guards' toilet because he refused to report his presence at night in September of 2007. He was handcuffed to a bed for over a month. Later, he was sent to the fifth section and forced to sit on the bench everyday. In February of 2007, Wu Kejian was physically abused for several months because he refused to do forced labour. Later, he was sent to the fifth section to sit on the bench everyday. In September of 2007, practitioner Guo Wenxue was handcuffed by Li Gongmin to a bed in the captain's toilet from around 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next morning. -
Recent Facts about Chinese Communist Party Officials in Laishui County, Hebei Province Persecuting Practitioners
2007-11-03Before the government's 17th Party Congress, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Laishui County distributed secret documents and required the township and town governments to secretly monitor practitioners, and increase the intensity of their attacks on Falun Gong. As a result, the township and town governments began harassing practitioners. All practitioners in the villages were affected. They were arrested and fined, their homes were ransacked, their satellite TV dishes confiscated, and their Falun Dafa books taken away. -
610 Officials from Jimo, Shandong Province Designate Personnel from the Education Council to Persecute Teachers Who Practise Falun Dafa
2007-11-03Since the beginning of the new term, according to orders from the 610 Office, personnel from the Education Council in Jimo, Shandong Province, again "examined" Dafa practitioners in the education systems in each town and office. The teachers were ordered to write a statement declaring that they had given up Falun Gong and were told that they could teach only after they gave up Falun Gong. If they refused, they would only be allowed to do administrative work. During the 17th Party Congress, in order to prevent all forms of appeals to higher authorities, every sub-system in every local government has had to strictly control and prevent people from seeking legal channels to appeal. According to the 610 Office in Jimo City, between 2 and 3 p.m., every office in each town is ordered report on Falun Gong practitioners in their area and send special people to watch over them. -
Dalian City Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Officials Deceive the Public by Reporting a Local Citizens' Appeal as Falun Gong Practitioners "Disturbing Social Stability"
2007-11-03On September 4th, 2007, one day prior to the Davos Conference, government departments, community leaders, and police received an "urgent notification." It said, "On September 2nd, over 300 Falun Gong practitioners went to the airport and surrounded the second most powerful person in the country. It caused a great stir in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Committee. The result is that people are required to closely watch Falun Gong practitioners from September 6th to September 12th, when the conference ends. Police and officials began harassing practitioners and their families. They ordered the families to guarantee that their practitioner family members would not go out during the Davos Conference. They also arrested practitioners who were deemed as key personnel. -
Exposing the Villains in the Brainwashing Centre in Fushun City, Liaoning Province
2007-11-03Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Centre was founded in 2003. It is located in the suburban area of the Dongzhou District, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Its purpose is to detain and forcefully "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. It is publicly labelled the "Liaoning Provincial Love and Care Centre" or "Fushun City's Love and Care School." According to the staff who worked there, since its founding, the centre has detained over 500 practitioners from Shenyang, Dalian, Fushun, Panjin, Tieling, and Huludao cities in Liaoning Province. For every practitioner detained, the CCP appropriates 2,000 yuan. The centre uses collaborators, or former practitioners who have turned against Falun Gong under brainwashing and torture and now assist in brainwashing and torturing practitioners, to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong. -
Tanghai County Police in Hebei Province Beat a Practitioner's Relative Unconscious
2007-11-02On September 25th, 2007, a grievously sad incident occurred at the No. 7 Farm's Police Station in Tanghai County, Hebei Province. It has made people very indignant. Police Department Deputy Head Zhang Shun and the No. 7 Station Police Chief Ji Xiangguang cruelly beat a young woman, Ding Guihua, until she lost consciousness while a dozen police officers watched. Someone called emergency when he saw what was going on. Rescue police came and left without intervening. Ding Guiihua was later sent to Tanghai Hospital for treatment and was hospitalised for a week. -
Elderly Woman Dies of Fright after Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Officials Threaten to Arrest Her Daughter Again
2007-11-02Ms. Peng Shiqiong, a Falun Gong practitioner in Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, has been sentenced to forced labour three times in eight years, and has been incarcerated for over six years. Even so, several days after she was released on October 7th, the authorities attempted to arrest her again. Ms. Peng said, "My mother needs me to take care of her. We can talk here. I'll never believe you again. You deceived me in 2002 with the same excuse, but locked me up. If you have something to say, let's talk here." They responded that they needed further instructions from their supervisors. They continued to harass Ms. Peng that same night and tried to send her to the brainwashing centre. Ms. Peng's mother, who has lived with anxiety and worries about the safety of her daughter over the past a few years, couldn't take it anymore. She passed away early the next morning after this incident. -
Ms. Zhang Ying from Shanghai Is Under 24-Hour Surveillance
2007-11-02Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Ying was released from a forced labour camp in September 2006. She is weak and slowly recovering at home. However, ever since September 28, 2006, people on six motorcycles have taken turns monitoring and following her 24 hours a day, seven days a week. While she noticed that she was being followed, she drove directly to a local police station and asked if they were following her. The police officials denied this, but in the meantime asked her family to report her daily activities. She and her family are constantly bothered, and her elderly parents are in a panic all the time, so they cannot lead a normal life. -
Mr. Wang Xiaobin from Shaanxi Province Died as a Result of the Persecution at Forced Labour Camp
2007-11-02Mr. Wang Xiaobin, 40 years old, was a farmer and Falun Gong practitioner in Shaanxi Province. He was imprisoned twice in Zaozihe Forced Labour Camp. When he was released in November 2005, he discovered that his mother had passed away. He became mentally disordered and died in April 2007. Since 2004, the labour camp has put every newly-imprisoned practitioner into a solitary cell without a window. Three drug addict inmates monitor one practitioner in one cell. None of the four is allowed to communicate with others outside. The small cell, the darkest place in the camp, is locked 24 hours a day. The four eat, sleep, and use a toilet in this very smelly, small cell. Practitioners are only permitted three hours of sleep a day and the rest of the time have to sit on a small stool reading books that slander Falun Gong. -
Mr. Wei Danquan Dying Due to Torture at Baoding Forced Labour Camp
2007-11-01Mr. Wei Danquan is a Falun Gong practitioner from the city of Shanhaiguan in Hebei Province. He has been unlawfully imprisoned at Baoding Forced Labour Camp. Because of torture, Mr. Wei has been coughing up blood, but the guards continue to handcuff him to the radiator and force him to perform heavy labour. On the afternoon of September 26th, Mr. Wei's mother, wife and elderly aunt tried to visit him, but the camp staff stopped them before they even entered the camp's courtyard. Liu Qingyong told them, "The 17th National People's Congress is about to begin. We have received orders that there will be no visits or releases." -
The Persecution of Group 5 in Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp
2007-11-01Falun Gong practitioners have been imprisoned and persecuted in Group 5 of Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp since 2000. Those in charge have used violence in brainwashing practitioners and tortured them both mentally and physically. The so-called "transformation" by the Chinese Communist Party is, without exception, violently forced on practitioners. In order to encourage wardens to be more violent, an internal policy that awarded the wardens a minimum of 800 yuan for each practitioner they "transformed" was enacted. For transforming the "focused" practitioners, the award can be over a thousand or even over ten thousand yuan each. In October 2004, Qie Lili was tortured and brainwashed with the "flying eagle" torture. She was deprived of sleep for 10 days and at the end she showed the symptoms of a heart attack. She went on hunger strikes several times to protest the persecution but was brutally force-fed every time. -
Mr. Zhuang Gangxiang Bound to a Metal Chair for Five Days and Nights in Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp of Harbin City
2007-11-01In April 2007, 30-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhuang Gangxiang, was detained in Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City. He went on a hunger strike to protest the labour camp's despicable practices that force practitioners' relatives to answer questions slandering Falun Dafa and Teacher Teacher [Teacher Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa] before they are allowed to visit. Two days after the hunger strike started, Yang Jintang (male), the head of the ward, intensified the mistreatment of Mr. Zhuang and bound him to a metal chair for five days and nights. Mr. Zhuang's legs were incapacitated for one week after he was released from the chair. -
Taxi Driver Mr. Lu Zuojin from Qianxi County, Hebei Province Tortured
2007-11-01On the evening of July 18th, 2007, when taxi driver Mr. Lu Zuojin was delivering goods, he was beaten by police officers from the Qianxi County National Guard because he was suspected of delivering Falun Gong materials. He was brutally beaten from 9:00 p.m. on July 18th to 8:00 a.m. on July 19th. Chief Zhu Zhengang of the national guard hit Mr. Lu in the mouth more than ten times. As a result, Mr. Lu's ears were ringing and he could not hear anything. At the same time, Zhu also stomped on Mr. Lu's legs and hips. Officer Wang Yinguang viciously struck Mr. Lu in the chest. When daybreak was near several police officers tied Mr. Lu up with rope, which they tightened by inserting and twisting a wooden stick in the rope.
