Practitioner Ms. Ma Meiying from Shijiazhuang, Hebei, Died after Being Tortured
2007-01-05
Ms. Ma Meiying was from Dongtian Village, Xinle City, Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. In 2003 Ms. Ma Meiying went with two practitioners to Zhili Town to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution. They were reported and police detained them in Xingtang Detention Centre for six days. She went on a hunger strike to protest being persecuted. Police ordered other prisoners to violently feed them through a tube. Ms. Ma was injected with an unknown substance and force fed with salt water. She developed partial paralysis. To escape their responsibility, Xingtang police took Ms. Ma home on the sixth day, but she never recovered. Ms. Ma Meiying died on November 28th, 2006. -
Mr. Chen Jun Learned Falun Gong in Prison and Was Beaten to Death at the Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai City
2007-01-05Mr. Chen Jun, from Hunan Province, was about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old. He was beaten to death by the Tilanqiao Prison staff in Shanghai City because he started practising Falun Gong while he was serving his sentence. The prison guards flew into a rage from shame after discovering that Chen Jun started practising Falun Dafa. On January 18th, 2006, they started malicious physical torture and daily beatings. After one week of continuous physical torture, Chen Jun's life was in danger. He was sent home but Chen Jun passed away about a month later. -
Two Falun Gong Practitioners from Zhejiang Province Die as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-05Wang Huiyue was 86 years old when she died as a result of the persecution. Prior to Falun Gong practice, she had high blood pressure and other illnesses but since Ms. Wang started practising Falun Gong she became a healthy, energetic person again. When the CCP launched the persecution in 1999, her son was afraid that he would be implicated in the persecution, so he forbade his mother from practising any longer. Wang Huiyue fell ill shortly thereafter. However, her two daughters, who also practised Falun Gong, helped her to start practising again and she recovered. They were arrested and heartbroken Wang Huiyue passed away. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Sun Changde from Changchun City Dies at 43 as a Result of Persecution at Jilin Prison
2007-01-05Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Changde, 43, was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2002 and was held at Jilin Prison. He was savagely tortured and developed severe tuberculosis. The prison authorities refused to release him despite his condition, and his health continued to deteriorate. He was eventually released in June 2006, when both of his lungs had completely ulcerated and he was coughing up blood. He passed away on November 28th, 2006. -
Everyone in My Family Was Persecuted
2007-01-04My father unfurled a banner at Tiananmen Square to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and suffered a brutal beating by the police on the square. Though he was injured and in pain, the guards still ordered prisoners to watch him and not let him practise the exercises. They forced him to sit on a wooden board all day and memorise prison rules, and they beat him if he did not remember them correctly. After three months of detention, his healthy body reverted to the illnesses he had before practising Dafa. He had difficulty urinating and his body was covered with extremely itchy and painful scabies. It wasn't until my father was at his last gasp that the police allowed him to go home with my mother. He passed away on May 8th, 2001. -
Ms. Zhao Yuhua and Her Husband Forced Into Homelessness; Young Daughter Dies in Grief
2007-01-04Practitioners Mr. Meng Qingzhen and Ms. Zhao Yuhua, a married couple from Heilongjiang Province were arrested, sent to forced labour camp, hounded by the police, and eventually forced to stay away from home. Their teenage daughter suffered a heart attack when they were being persecuted and died in sorrow, as her parents were not able to take care of her. -
Four Practitioners from Sichuan, Shanghai, Liaoning and Hunan Died Due to Persecution
2007-01-04Mr. Xia Pinhua detained when he went to Mianyang Forced Labour Camp to visit a fellow practitioner in May 2000. He was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour. On returning home his old illnesses recurred, and he became bedridden. Communist Party officials came frequently to Mr. Xia's home to harass him. They told him to give up his belief in the principles of "Truthfulness, Comparison, Forbearance." The wicked officials even threatened to take him to a forced labour camp again if he did not renounce Falun Gong. Mr. Xia was physically injured and mentally harmed. He died on November 22nd, 2006. -
Liu Guifu Shares His Experience of Being Persecuted
2007-01-04I was being tortured by an official when the wife of one of the persecutors called, wanting him to rush home. The pitiful thing is that the husband said to his wife over the phone, "We are 'interrogating' a Falun Gong practitioner and he won't give in. If you don't believe it, listen." Then he turned his mobile phone in order for his wife to listen to my horrifying cries. They committed evil deeds and they wanted to have their family members involved. They treated the horrifying cries of Dafa practitioners as beautiful music. The more pitiful thing is that the female police officers, who didn't have any sympathy, said in a sarcastic way, "Everyone says that Falun Gong practitioners are not afraid of death. Today we have truly seen that. It is so true." -
Shandong Province Prison Injects Practitioners with Nerve-Damaging Drugs
2007-01-04Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Jianping was jailed in the Shandong Province Prison for Women around the end of last year. Guards injected Ms. Li with drugs that interfered with the functioning of her central nervous system and made her very drowsy, but as soon as she awoke from the stupor, "Falun Dafa is good" would blast out of her mouth. Shandong Prison ran out of ways to keep her quiet, other than strictly monitoring her and not allowing her to be in proximity to others. Practitioners and other inmates in Shandong Provincial Women's Prison were forced to work for Jinan and Rongcheng Toy Manufacturers making woollen toys for export. -
Ms. Cao Aihua from Xinjiang Autonomous Region Dies as a Result of Persecution; Her Family Asks for Justice in Vain
2007-01-03On November 1st, 2006, Ms. Cao Aihua was arrested and taken to the Women's Forced Labour Camp of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corporation. When her husband visited her at the forced labour camp, Ms. Cao told him that the guards in the labour camp had beaten and sworn at her. Her husband was later informed that his wife had died on November 13th. When cleaning his wife's body, her husband found a large injury on her back. He believes that his wife died after suffering injuries as a result of severe beatings. -
Mr. Li Hongfu Dies at 31 Following Several Years of Torture
2007-01-03On December 8th, 2006, Mr. Li Hongfu died after suffering several years of inhuman torture. He was only 31. The depraved guards at Xishanping Forced Labour Camp insulted and tortured Mr. Li with many torture methods, such as the tiger bench, electrical shocks, nailing bamboo slips under fingernails. One of the most cruel things the guards tell practitioners is, "We intend to make your life worse than death." After being released from the forced labour camp, he was very weak and bedridden due to paralysis. -
The Deaths of Three Former Retired Staff Members from Xiangtan University After Suffering Persecution
2007-01-03Mr. Qiu Youde, 72, was the former head of the Communist Party Organisation Department at Xiangtan University. He began practising Falun Dafa at the age of 66. After July 20th, 1999, Chinese Communist Party officials applied great pressure on him to renounce Dafa. They threatened that his son, employed at a police station, would not have a future if Mr. Qiu didn't follow their demands. They forced him to write a statement giving up Dafa, which was published in the university newspaper. Shortly thereafter Mr. Qiu was hospitalised and passed away in 2003. -
Elderly Ms. Wang Suxiang from Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-03The family of Wang Suxiang has been constantly harassed and persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Ms. Wang's son was arrested several times, and her daughter was sent to a forced labour camp four times and nearly tortured to death. Under severe mental and physical strain, Wang Suxiang and her husband often had to go to police stations, community committees, and public security bureaus to find their detained children and secure their release. Overwhelmed by the accumulated mental and physical pressure, seventy-three-year-old Wang Suxiang fell ill and passed away on November 29th, 2006. -
Ms. Bai Yanyun, 39, Died from Police Brutality in 2005
2007-01-03Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Bao Yanyun, 39 years old, was arrested by police because they found a copy the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in her home. Police brutally beat and threatened her, endangering her life. Police sent her to Ezhou City Central Hospital for emergency treatment. She died in the hospital on October 20th, 2005. The doctor said she died of uraemia. But why was her life in danger only one day after being interrogated by the Ezhou City 610 Office agents? -
The Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Jiangsu Province
2007-01-02Chinese law states that labour camp detainees should not work for more than six hours a day, and they should not do heavy labour. At Fangqiang Labour Camp, however, Falun Gong practitioners sometimes are forced to work for more than 12 hours a day in the field and for 14 or 16 hours a day at the sewing workshop of Division 1 and Division 4. When cleaning the latrine pits, other detainees are allowed to use a pole to carry barrels of faeces, while Falun Gong practitioners are forced to carry the barrel in their arms. The faeces often spill all over their faces and clothes. The guards do not even spare older Falun Gong practitioners. A 68-year-old practitioner was forced to remove his shoes and socks, and clean the sewage ditch while standing in freezing water.
