Condemning the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for Harvesting Organs from the Living
2012-10-09The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners shocked the international community when it became known in 2006 and has been condemned ever since. Recently, the United State Congress held a hearing on the CCP’s harvesting of organs from political dissidents and religious believers. At the United National Human Rights Council meeting, international organizations proposed to conduct an immediate investigation into the CCP’s live organ harvesting. This development drew people’s attention to this issue again. Doctors, lawyers, judges, elected officials, movie directors, and the public strongly condemn the CCP’s reprehensible practice and call for an end to the atrocity. -
Ms. Chen Shufen from Gansu Province Once Again Detained after Twice Being Subjected to Forced Labour
2012-10-09On July 7th, 2012, the police picked Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Shufen up at work and put her in Longxi Detention Centre that night. Mrs. Chen had previously been sent to forced labour camps twice for practising Falun Gong. She was tortured and forced to do slave labour. She recounts her experience at the Second Women's Labour Camp in Gansu Province in 2000: "I was forced to pack disposable chopsticks. The solution had a strong odour and was so toxic that it could turn all of one's hair yellow. I couldn't keep my eyes open and sometimes could not breathe. In these hazardous working conditions, people passed out. The team leaders sealed my mouth with tape and beat me with police batons. Then they handcuffed me and hung me on a bunk bed for seven days and nights. I was tortured by being hung up three times." -
Four Falun Gong Practitioners from Li County, Hebei Province Sent to Labour Camp
2012-10-09O n April 23rd, 2012, police arrested four Falun Gong practitioners in several locations. Without any legal process, Wu Ruixiang and Li Ergang were immediately sent to Handan Forced Labour Camp, Xie Aman and Xie Hongcai to Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp; and Xie Hongcai was sent home because she was showing symptoms of illness. Police ransacked Xie Aman's home and confiscated a large quantity of Falun Gong materials. Xie Aman became healthy and good-tempered after she began practising Falun Gong. -
Ms. Luo Xuemei, 63, from Xiangtan County Arrested for Distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs
2012-10-09When Ms. Luo Xuemei, a Falun Gong practitioner, was on her way to visit a coworker on the morning of August 23rd, she was stopped and searched by policeman Liu Xiaohua. Liu did not have a search warrant and found Shen Yun [a world-class traditional Chinese cultural show] DVDs in her bag. She was then taken to the Shuyuanlu Police Station, and was released the next day. While Ms. Luo was detained, a dozen officers from the Xiangtan City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), broke into her house. They had to force open three steel doors to get into her house and then ransacked it without a search warrant. An agent from the 610 Office threatened to take Ms. Luo to a psychiatric hospital and torture her. -
Prison Officials Refuse to Release Mr. Lin Bo, 51, Who is Suffering from Renal Failure
2012-10-09Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lin Bo was arrested and sentenced to eight years in prison. During his detention in Dongling Prison, he has suffered inhuman torture. The prison guards often beat him and shocked him with electric batons. He is suffering renal failure and his whole body is swollen. There are still four months left to his prison term. The officials of Dongling Prison refuse to release him on medical parole. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Xu Daoming Sentenced to Prison by Shantou City Court, Guangdong Province
2012-10-09On January 12th, 2012, a Shantou City Court judge charged innocent Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Daoming with “Sabotaging law implementation through using a cult”, and sentenced him to one year and three months in prison. This false charge was fabricated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in order to deceive citizens who don’t know the truth about Falun Gong. Mr. Xu is kind to others and never fought or competed for personal gain. -
Communist Regime Agents Make More Unjust Arrests after Causing a Practitioner to Fall to Her Death in Hebei Province
2012-10-05On August 7th, the police launched a mass arrest of local practitioners. While the police were ransacking the home of Shijiazhuang practitioner Yang Yinqiao, her husband returned and discovered that his wife had fallen from their fifth-floor apartment. When he confronted the police, they all ran away. A number of armed police officers suddenly appeared and cordoned off the area. Even their son and his mother-in-law were not allowed to see Ms. Yang’s body. The police gave her son a savage beating and then summoned the family’s relatives to the police station, ordering them not to disclose any news about Ms. Yang’s death. On August 13th, more arrests of practitioners followed. -
Persecution in Ningxia Autonomous Region: Ms. Yang Jie in Critical Condition
2012-10-05On August 28th, practitioners Ms. Yang Jie; her husband, Zheng Yongxin; and Chen Hua were arrested. At Yinchuan Detention Centre, they were brutalized, and after only seven days of incarceration, the originally healthy Ms. Yang was in critical condition. Fearing that she would die in custody, detention centre officers told her family to come pick her up. When they arrived, her family found Ms. Yang in a daze; she had difficulty breathing and could not walk. It is not clear what she had been through in the detention centre. -
Torture and Harassment of Falun Gong Practitioners Escalates at Jiamusi Prison in Heilongjiang Province
2012-10-05Jiamusi Prison has intensified its persecution of practitioners since July 20th, 2012. Warden Ye Feng held a prison cadre's meeting where everyone was ordered to put more effort into restricting practitioners, searching cells, strip-searching, and searching all personal belongings. The harassment and mistreatment has not subsided and is now even more extensive than before. Deputy Manager Wang Zhiyong orders inmates to torture practitioners and was personally involved in torturing practitioner Mr. Liu Chuanjiang to death on March 7th, 2011. -
Fengrun District Court in Tangshan Falsely Accuses Elderly Innocent Women
2012-10-05Fengrun District Court in Tangshan City secretly tried Falun Gong practitioners 60-year-old Ms. Zhang Mingfeng and 68-year-old Ms. Zhang Guizhi and sentenced them to three years and four years in prison, respectively. In 2001, Ms. Zhang Guizhi was hung up, beaten, force-fed, and shocked with electric batons in Fengrun Detention Centre. Two of her teeth were knocked out while she was being force-fed. -
Unscrupulous Judge: Tears Up Practitioner's Petition for Appeal, Slaps the Defence Attorney in the Face
2012-10-05Lawyer Mr. Wang Quanzhang pleaded not guilty for Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Miao Fu in June this year. In view of Miao Fu having been tortured to extort a confession, he asked the court to invoke the "illegal evidence exclusion procedure.” Unexpectedly, this triggered roars from Judge Wang Chuanfa from the Dongning County Court. On August 31st, 2012, when Wang Quanzhang went to the detention centre to handle Mr. Miao Fu’s appeal matters, he met Wang Chuanfa. This time Wang Chuanfa even rushed forward and slapped Wang Quanzhang in the face. -
Wife Suspected to Have Been a Victim of Organ Harvesting, Husband Killed to Conceal the Truth
2012-10-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Xiuling was transferred from a detention centre to a hospital in March 2004 for meningitis. She was later taken to the morgue while still breathing and her lower back was bandaged. Her husband Xu Chengben suspected that his wife had her kidneys harvested while she was still alive. The police tried to pay him 100,000 yuan to keep him quiet, but he refused. When Mr. Xu published an article online two years later, questioning his wife's death and expressing his suspicion of his wife being a victim of organ harvesting, he was arrested the very next day. Other family members were then forced to agree to cremate Ms. He's body. -
Mr. Cao Jingdong Transferred to Brainwashing Centre Despite His Prison Term Ending
2012-10-05A 70-year-old woman recently went to the Security Section of Daqing Installation Company to demand the release of her son, Mr. Cao Jingdong, who was sentenced to a year and a half in a labour camp because he practises Falun Gong. Mr. Cao was was supposed to be released as soon as his term ended, but when the term came to an end, Liu Xiping, the head of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) at Daqing Petroleum Company, and section chief Zhu Zunren transferred Mr. Cao from Suihua Labour Camp to the Yichun Brainwashing Centre. -
76-Year-Old Woman Arrested, Dies after Unscheduled Surgery
2012-10-05A 76-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Fang Qiuju, was arrested at the Production and Construction Legion in Xinjiang Autonomous Region and taken to the legion's brainwashing centre in September 2011. Early in the morning on October 4th, Ms. Fang was wheeled into surgery. Her family waiting at the door saw three plainclothes police go into the operating room through a back door. Her family thought that something was not right and tried to enter the operating room, but the nurses would not let them in. Ms. Fang died of a high fever the day after. Her family members have always felt that there were many suspicious points regarding her death, but they hadn't contacted the outside world for the past year so no one else has known about it. -
Ms. Li Huiyun, Associate Professor from Shijiazhuang City, Suffers Mental Collapse Due to Persecution
2012-09-28Mr. Song Hongshui and Ms. Li Huiyun, a Falun Gong practitioner couple from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, were taken away by police and held in the Second Detention Centre. Mr. Song was forced to work 14 hours every day. Ms. Li refused the slave-labour persecution, so the police tied her hands to a rack by an iron chain. She is now showing signs of a mental disorder due to the persecution.
