  Ms. Gao didn't come out because of her bad health, so several team leaders forced her out. Female guard Liang Zhen shouted, "Handcuff her!" Tang Yubao took an electric baton and rushed at Ms. Gao. He grabbed her hair, pulled her out of bed and pushed her into the aisle. Before Ms. Gao was able to get her balance, Tang Yubao started to hit her face from both sides. He then grabbed her by her hair and hit her head against the table and the wall."

• Four Elderly Practitioners Die From Persecution in Hebei, Hunan and Jilin Provinces

  60-year-old Mr. Dong Jinchang frequently suffered brutal torture and beatings at the detention centre. He was released only after his physical condition deteriorated severely and the centre officials were afraid that they would be held accountable. He never regained his health after returning home, and died around mid-July 2005.

• Five Practitioners from Hebei, Liaoning, and Sichuan Provinces Die Due to Persecution

  Mr. Shi Peifeng lived in Liaoning Province. He started practising Falun Dafa in January 1998. He had kidney disease, which improved greatly after he practised Falun Dafa. After he went to Beijing to appeal on November 20th 1999, he was taken to the Longshan Brainwashing Centre and later transferred to the Fifth Detention Centre for further persecution. He was released after his parents were forced to pay a fine. Under the long-term persecution, his practice environment was severely sabotaged. In August 2003, his kidney disease returned. He was only 21 when he died on September 19th 2004.

• Ms. Ren Tingfang and Her Daughter Zhang Xiaohe Gansu Province Both Died As Result of Persecution in 2002

  Under severe pressure Ms. Ren Tingfang was forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being arrested at home from 2000 to 2002. After years of living under this persecution, by September of 2002 she weighed only around 80 lbs. Her physical condition worsened and she was only twenty-three when she passed away.

• Mr. Yue Huimin from Qiqihar City Dies from Torture Suffered in the Fuyu Labour Camp

  Mr. Yue Huimin's health deteriorated, his body developed a scabies infection, he was emaciated, suffered with diabetes, had damage to the lower part of his brain and had developed hepatitis type B. He often fainted and did not sleep properly for more than a year. After two years of cruel torture, the Fuyu Labour Camp extended his term by two months. He was finally carried home while he was dying, nearly blind, his inner ears were infected and his whole body was swollen with dropsy. On March 18th 2005, Mr. Yue Huimin died in great agony.

• Li Huzhe from Yanji City Requires Constant Care After Being Persecuted in Jilin Province

  Mr. Li Huzhe's body is now so extremely weak that he is unable to take care of himself. The police handcuffed and shackled him, pulling up his foot shackle and attaching it around his neck. In order to force him to give a confession, they tortured him by squeezing his body to the point where his neck was only fifteen centimetres away from his feet for a long period of time. He couldn't straighten himself at the waist. The police continuously tortured him for three days. During the three days, they didn't allow him to use the toilet, drink water, eat food, or sleep.

• Practitioner Ms. Li Shue Was Beaten by Prison Guards in the Jilin Province Women's Forced Labour Camp

  Ms. Li Shue who is over 50 years old was kicked in the back, chest, arms and legs and was punched in the head until she could no longer move. She said, "The labour camp forces practitioners to work over 10 hours a day, pushing us to the limit." Due to the beating, persecution, and prolonged labour, Li is skinny and depressed. She is pale and cannot walk properly but is still forced to glue toy birds for over 10 hours everyday.

• At Least 85 Practitioners Tortured to Death in Weifang City in the Past Six Years

  Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)cooperated in applying their genocidal policies against Falun Gong practitioners, who peacefully persist in their belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. They achieved this by using the totalitarian government's machinery, including the police and the media. In the six years between July 20th 1999 and July 20th 2005, the CCP, in violation of the Chinese constitution and by breaking numerous laws, has monitored, abducted, detained, tortured, and brainwashed Falun Gong practitioners and has sent many of them to forced labour camps and prisons. According to the Clearwisdom website, the verified number of deaths by torture of Falun Gong practitioners is 2,711. At least 85 Falun Gong practitioners from Weifang City have been tortured to death.

• Practitioner Liu Yuhe from Jilin Province, Tortured on Tiger Bench and Force-fed Mustard Oil

  Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Yuhe was arrested and sent to Jiutai Forced Labour Camp. Whilst in captivity he had gone on a hunger strike to protest the unjust incarceration and been brutally force-fed. Liu Yuhe was force-fed with six bottles of mustard oil. This kind of torture can result various stomach diseases, stomach ulcers, etc. These tortures inflicted severe physical damage on him. He was also tortured with the "Tiger Bench" during interrogation. They made Liu Yuhe wear a metal helmet and then hit the helmet with a metal hammer continuously for four hours - this is called the "brain-shaking machine." This type of torture can leave people with severe physical impairment: quadriplegia, mental disorientation, concussion etc.

• Six Dafa Practitioners from Shandong, Liaoning, Jilin and Henan Provinces Persecuted to Death

  Mr. Wang Liansheng, 37 years old, was a teacher in the elementary school attached to Nong'an County Normal College, Jilin Province and firmly practised Falun Dafa. In 2001, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. After he was detained for more than 20 hours, he walked out of the police station openly and with dignity. When the education system made cuts at the end of 2001, he was not on the list to lose his job. However, because he practised Falun Gong, his school's leaders forced him to write the "three statements" to denounce Falun Gong. Otherwise, he would lose his job. The leaders went to his home many times to threaten and harass him. Because the mental pressure was too great for him and his wife compelled him to get a divorce, he suffered a mental collapse. He died on March 18th 2002.

• Prison Authorities Force Yuan Qingjiang's Body to Be Cremated Out of Fear of Public Exposure

  It has been confirmed that Falun Dafa practitioner Yuan Qingjiang, who was tortured and killed at the Daqing Prison, had already passed away on July 23rd when he was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. After Yuan Qingjiang was persecuted to death, the prison staff purposely sent his corpse to the hospital for an "emergency rescue treatment," but what really happened was revealed by the doctor. Afraid of having their crimes exposed, the Daqing Prison staff forced his family members to sign their names for the cremation, threatening that if they refused, they would be charged with hindrance of public duties, and even be extorted several tens of thousands of yuan for medical expenses.

He discussed the fallacies of the staged "Tiananmen Self-Immolation" incident and exposed the fact that the former head and still highly active and powerful figure of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin and his regime framed and slandered Falun Gong. Students who have been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party propaganda reported him to the authorities of the university. On July 12th 2005, an illegal trial was secretly held, and he was sentenced to 3-7 years of imprisonment.

• Shiling Prison Cruelly Persecutes Falun Dafa Practitioner Fu Hongwei

  Mr. Fu Hongwei was persecuted in Shiling Prison. He refused to follow any of the requirements of the perpetrators such as wearing prison uniforms and reciting the prison rules. He began to protest against the persecution by going on a hunger strike. Although his family members requested many times to see him, the authorities in the prison did not let them visit while Mr. Fu Hongwei was detained in the prison from 2003 to July 2005. When eventually they were allowed to see him, his face was severely swollen.

• Yushu City Police Officers Tortured Me for Eight Hours to Force Me to Reveal the Whereabouts of My Mobile Phone

  The police had me sit on an iron chair and cuffed my hands behind my back. While interrogating me, they continued to beat me in an attempt to find out what I had been doing and the whereabouts of my mobile phone. When I didn't tell them anything, they stepped on a chain to tighten the handcuffs, causing them to cut into my wrists. This caused my left hand to be numb for more than two months. They used the handle of a pickaxe to hit my shins for more than 30 minutes. They also used it to smash my toes. They forced my left arm to go over my shoulder and my right arm behind my back and tied my hands together. They then inserted 6 or 7 Coke bottles between my arms and my body, making my arms feel like they were being split open.

• Lives at Risk in the Daqing Prison

  The following persecution facts are from the letters sent by practitioners who are unjustly imprisoned in the Daqing City Hongweixing Prison. The practitioners have broken through several layers of the information blockade and their letters have gone through several hands. Due to the strict monitoring in the prison and the varying abilities of practitioners to express themselves in writing, the details and the extent of the persecution disclosed here do not quite reflect the reality. They are only the tip of the iceberg. This article does, however, show a glimpse of the darkness and horror in the Daqing Prison.
