Secret Trial for Six Falun Gong Practitioners in Jilin Province
2005-04-03
On March 16, 2005, the Jilin Province Yanji City Court held a secret court session trying Falun Gong practitioners. During the session, five of the practitioners requested their immediate, unconditional release while defending themselves in an upright way. The judge panicked, and feeling guilty, forced the practitioners to stop reading their defence documents. In the end, the court officials hurriedly ended the session without any verdict. -
Medical Technologist Ms Zhan Ye'an of Guizhou Province Tortured to Death in 2003
2005-04-0257 year old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhan Ye'an was arrested in Shanghai for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution in August 2002, and sentenced to forced labour in Zhongba Women's Labour Camp. She went on a hunger strike immediately at the camp to protest her innocence. She was so steadfast in her belief that they tortured her viciously, until she was paralysed. She survived on intravenous fluids for a while, but died at the end of June 2003. The officials were very scared of their crimes being revealed so they withheld the news of her death for a long time. -

The "Stretch Bed" is an extremely vicious torture technique. Step 1: A person's four limbs are bound to the four corners of a hard bed. Step 2: Once the arms and legs are bound to the bed, the body is lifted high in the air and stretched in all four directions, causing severe pain. -
The Women's Jail in Inner Mongolia is a Dark Den Used for the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
2005-04-02Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Yazhi was thrown in the Baoanzhao Jail because she went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal against the persecution. She was not allowed to use the toilet or get in touch with anyone. Under the instigation of the guards, the prisoners used a quilt to cover her head and beat her mercilessly, nearly killing her. After several months of brutal torture, the once healthy and strong Liu Yazhi became paraplegic. -
A Practitioner in Jilin Province Speaks About the Brutal Persecution
2005-04-02"I was dismissed from my position as a public official and unlawfully arrested and threatened many times, because I wanted to become a good person. I fainted four times from police beatings, was charged with phony crimes, secretly sentenced to over eight years in prison, and had 20,000 yuan illegally seized from me. I was devastated by the brutal treatment while in prison and developed cirrhosis of the liver. They sent me home when I became critically ill. The persecution has robbed me of everything. They left me with a mortal body full of illnesses related to cirrhosis, and I am at the end of my rope." -
Two Practitioners in Hebei Province Who Died As a Result of Persecution
2005-04-0157 year old Ms. Li Shuzhen was harassed, threatened, arrested, and detained by local police many times because she was a steadfast practitioner of Falun Dafa. Once she was kept in a small dark room at a police station for nine days. Due to persecution, her health deteriorated such that a labour camp would not take her. As a result of the persecution she endured, Ms. Li Shuzhen died on May 24, 2004. -
Anguished at Son's Incarceration, Elderly Practitioner Couple from Shandong Province Passed Away
2005-04-01A family plagued by persecution by the authorities, caused intolerable heartache, destitution and death. Just because they had all benefited from Falun Dafa, truly followed Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance and felt it was only right to appeal for an end to the persecution, so many family members were arrested such that only the 66 year old mother was left at home. One son was incarcerated in a labour camp, yet his distraught parents did not know of his whereabouts until a year later. Both elderly parents could not bear the mental anguish and passed away within a year of each other. -
Five Falun Gong Practitioners in Mainland China Died as a Result of Intense Persecution
2005-04-01Five elderly practitioners were persecuted by local officials, the police and even family members. The excessive strain of being forced into homelessness, constantly on the lookout to avoid capture from the police; or continual police harassment at home; or becoming a prisoner in their own home; or the agony of losing a loved one - different circumstances for each one - all took its toll on their health,causing old illnesses to recur. They all then died from intense stress. -
Seven Falun Gong Practitioners Die Due to the Persecution
2005-04-01Mr. Liu Jingyu, 68, was a practitioner from Jilin Province. After July 20, 1999, his wife was imprisoned by local police several times, for up to six months, because she practises Falun Gong. His family was fined 2,000 yuan and the family's corn harvest was confiscated as payment for cash fines. At that time, only Liu Jingyu's 80 year-old mother was at home. She knelt and begged the village officials for leniency, yet she was rejected. Liu Jingyu could not take this blow and his hypertension recurred. He died in February 2005. -
After Suffering Severe Persecution, Ms. Zhou Liangzhen Dies Under Suspicious Circumstances at the Chongqing City Armed Police Hospital
2005-03-3151 year old Ms. Zhou Liangzhen was arrested and taken to Chongqing City Women's Forced Labour Camp by police. She was forced to stand for over twelve hours daily. Ms. Zhou was not allowed to use the toilet for 11 days. During very hot days, prisoners put thick winter clothes on her, then dragged her outside under the sun and forced her to stand there. She was not sent home until she was at the brink of death. On February 28, 2005, Zhou Liangzhen died as a result of persecution at the Chongqing City Armed Police Hospital. -
The Mysterious Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms Yang Yinghong in Hubei Province
2005-03-31Ms. Yang Yinghong was a Falun Gong practitioner in her 30's. To stop her efforts to raise awareness about the persecution, the local police department threw her into detention. However, she managed to escape. In the beginning of November of 2004, Yang was suddenly missing. Two days later, her family went to the local police department to inquire about her whereabouts. They were told that their daughter had died in a car accident and had already been cremated. Yang's parents were grief-stricken yet were not allowed see the driver. They also found out that local residents had been told not to reveal anything about the accident. -
Elderly Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Ma Jingfang Died as a Result of Police Brutality
2005-03-3159 year old Ms. Ma Jingfang was a music teacher at Beijing Normal University. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Ma continued to practise Falun Dafa steadfastly. She was sentenced to forced labour terms twice. On March 8, 2005, as a result of relentless harassment by the police after police brutality had left her in an extremely weakened physical condition, Ms. Ma died. -
Cruelty at the Anhui Women's Forced Labour Camp
2005-03-31Since July 2003, in order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their practice, Anhui Women's Forced Labour Camp authorities have escalated the pressure on its victims with prolonged torture and sleep deprivation. Just for defending Falun Dafa, four officers immediately jumped on two practitioners, shocked them with high voltage electric batons, cuffed their hands behind their backs, sealed their mouths with tape and then humiliated them in front of everyone. Afterwards the two were locked up in another room, where they were cruelly beaten. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Sun Jianqiu Tortured to Death in 2001
2005-03-30Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Jianqiu, in his 40s, was a farmer in Shandong Province. In January 2001, he was arrested and sent to the local detention centre, where he went on a hunger strike for more than 20 days. He was then sentenced to forced labour at the Wangchun Labour Camp. He died when someone struck him on the head while he was doing Falun Dafa exercises. Mr. Sun is survived by his parents, his wife, who has also been persecuted for practising Falun Dafa, and his six year old child. -
Ms. Gao Rongrong Is Arrested Again -- Many Practitioners Who Rescued Her Also Arrested

Ms. Gao Rongrong's face was severely disfigured from burns from electric baton shocks while she was held in a labour camp. In October 2004, many Falun Dafa practitioners who were involved in the successful rescue of Ms. Gao Rongrong were taken into custody.
