Diaobingshan City Police Severely Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Hu Ying

On July 4th, 2008, in the name of "sustaining harmony for the Olympics", Liaoning Province police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Ying, who had been forced into a homeless situation, questioned her and tortured her. On July 6th, the police transferred Hu Ying to Tieling City Detention Centre and continued to torture her. However, her health declined rapidly due to the brutal torture. Hu Ying has been severely persecuted for over four months to date. -
Hong Kong Resident Exposes the Persecution of His Wife by the Zengcheng City 610 Office in Guangdong Province

Hong Kong resident Mr. Chen Yingtian and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Xiaolan from Zengcheng City were married in mainland China before 1999. However, because Ms. Yang practises Falun Gong and refused to give up the practice, she was persecuted by the 610 Office of the Zengcheng Municipal Police Station. Currently, Ms. Yang is being detained, and not allowed to reunite with her husband and their child. The 610 Office will not issue a permit to Yang Yaolan to go outside China. -
Call for Rescuing Mr. Lei Anxiang, Who Was Sentenced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
2008-12-07On May 10th, 2008, police searched Mr. Lu Jiabin's apartment and arrested him. Mr. Lei Anxing was also arrested because he happened to go to the apartment to get tools at that time. Mr. Lei was detained in the Chenzhou Detention Centre. The police took the Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution he carried with him as "criminal evidence." He was sentenced to three years in prison. In 2004, Mr. Lei Anxiang was arrested and taken to the Huadu Forced Labour Camp. He endured three months of brutal brainwashing. The guards ordered detainees to stab his body with large steel needles. They forced Mr. Lei to kneel down and placed a bamboo stick on his shins. Several people took turns stepping on the stick and rolling it, which caused them to bleed. -
The Persecution of Female Practitioners in the Re-education Deployment Department of Beijing
2008-12-07The Eleventh Division of the Beijing Labour Camp Dispatch Centre was created specifically for detaining and persecuting female Falun Gong practitioners. The "transformation" process is in fact a destruction of human conscience. Their goal is to force practitioners to go against their wills and sign the so-called three statements, promising to give up the practice and betraying their conscience. These people use great pressure to persecute practitioners. Practitioners are forced to watch videos or read books designed to defame Falun Gong. After they finish, they have to write their "understandings" of Falun Gong. Their "understandings" must meet the requirements set by the captain. At the end of the two-month session, practitioners are forced to make speeches which are over ten pages long to "expose and criticize" Falun Gong. -
Mr. Zhang Litian Beaten to Death in Jinzhou City Prison, Liaoning Province

According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Zhang Litian was beaten multiple times by prisoners in the Jinzhou City Prison. On November 16th, 2008, he went on hunger strike to protest the brutal beatings. The next day, on November 17th, Warden Zhang Baozhi encouraged four prisoners to cruelly beat Mr. Zhang Litian to death. He died after being detained for one month. Many prisoners witnessed this incident. -
Mr. Yu Zhou's Wife Ms. Xu Na Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
2008-12-06Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Zhou was tortured to death on Chinese New Year's Eve, February 6th, 2008. His wife, Ms. Xu Na is still under severe persecution. On November 25th, 2008, the Chongwen District Court in Beijing sentenced Ms. Xu Na to three years in prison. The whole process took only a few minutes because the results had already been decided, and they were only going through the motions in court. Ms. Xu requested to appeal to a higher court. -
Mr. Sun Hongchang Disabled as a Result of Torture in Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province
2008-12-06On March 28th, 2006, Mr. Sun Hongchang, a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested by police officers. He was blindfolded and beaten by police at the Qingyuan Town Station. He was also tortured by being "Hung up by All Four Limbs Behind the Back" and enduring "Bamboo Stick Penetrates the Fingers" and other brutal methods. For three days and nights, residents close to the police station could hear Mr. Sun's cries. Since then, he has not been able to take care of himself. One of his legs was injured so badly during a beating he can no longer use it. The muscles have atrophied and he has no feeling in it. It has also become swollen. -
Children Request Release of Mother from Prison after Their Father and Grandmother Pass Away

Ms. Xu Youqin, a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. Her husband Mr. Zang Dianlong died as a result of persecution. Her mother-in-law found it hard taking care of Ms Xu's two children and under such huge mental and physical pressure, the mother-in-law passed away in mid-September 2008. Left alone with no one to care for them, the two children requested the authorities of the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison to release their mother. -
Weining Forced Labour Camp in Benxi City, Liaoning Province Uses the "Stretching Bed" to Torture Falun Gong Practitioners
2008-12-05Weining Forced Labour Camp uses "stretching beds" to force practitioners into giving up their beliefs. First, the guards take off the practitioner's clothes, and then they tie their limbs onto a specially-designed double bed using strips of cloth, with the legs split to the extreme, and both arms stretched out on either side. In this way, the whole body is immobilized, with only the head and neck being able to move a little. The practitioners are also not allowed to get up to relieve themselves. All urination and defecation occur on the bed. The practitioners are bound onto this bed around the clock for more than a month at a time, causing severe damage to their tendons and muscles. The unbearable pain sometimes brings about mental collapse. -
Beijing Police Transfer Practitioners to Forced Labour Camps Outside the Capital
2008-12-05Prior to the Olympic Games, every prison in Beijing was completely full. As a result, the police transferred practitioners to forced labour camps in distant provinces. Due to the fact that Mr. Li Laifang and fellow practitioners from Dingxing County, Hebei Province persisted in practising Falun Gong, they were arrested by police in Tong County, Beijing, and taken to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province. Each time Mr. Li's father went to the camp to visit his son, the guards would turn him away. -
Mr. Cao Junyi in Wugong County, Shaanxi Province Loses Memory After Harmful Injection
2008-12-05Yan Yong is the team leader of the National Security Team in Wugong County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, and He Hui is the director of the 610 Office. Yan and He led over a dozen policemen from the Puji Town Police Station to arrest Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Cao Junyi (in his seventies) and Ms. Yan Renyan (in her sixties) from the Yilao Village, Puji Town on May 14th, 2008, and ransack their homes. Police injected Mr. Cao Junyi with unidentified drugs, causing him to lose his memory. -
610 Office in Suizhou City Continues to Harass and Extort Money from Ms. Qiu Lilan
2008-12-05On November 4th, 2008, manager Wu, who is in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners at the Mother and Childcare Hospital went to talk to practitioner Ms. Qiu Lilan, a retired doctor from the same hospital. Ms. Qiu explained to him that due to the long term persecution that she suffered at the hands of the local 610 Office, her health had slowly deteriorated, forcing her to undergo surgery in September 2008. As a result, she was living at her relative's home so she could get the personal care she needed. When the local "610 Office" found about this, they went to Ms. Qiu's hospital work unit and extorted several thousand yuan from them. They also took away Ms. Qiu's November retirement pension of more than 1000 yuan, leaving her with only 300 yuan to live on. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Li Zhengling Dies in Custody
2008-12-04On December 28th, 2004, 7 policemen broke into Mr. Li Zhengling's home, and he was taken to the Gulin Detention Centre. The police also ransacked his home many times. On February 4th, 2005, he was arrested again, and sentenced to five years of imprisonment. At that time, Mr. Li's eyesight was very poor, so his family members asked that he be allowed to stay home, but their request was refused. Li Zhengling was sent to Deyang Prison, where he became blind due to continuous mistreatment. On June 21st, 2008, Mr. Li's family members received notice that he was critically ill. They were told that Li Zhengling's blood pressure had been just over 60 when he was brought to the hospital on June 11th and that he had died at 5:30 a.m. that day, June 24th. -
Young Mother Detained at the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp, Now Reduced to Skin and Bones
2008-12-04Ms. Gong Xuejun, aged 30, has an infant son who is just over one year old. The 610 Office in Lechang City ransacked her house and arrested her on August 19th, 2008. Ms. Gong Xuejun was taken to the Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp. When her relatives saw Ms. Gong they could hardly recognize her. Because Gong Xuejun had been tortured, her weight had dropped from 49kg to 30kg (approximately 108 lbs to 66 lbs) within one month. She was nothing but skin and bones. Her eyes were sunken and her hair had been cut short and was in disarray. Upon seeing her shocking condition, Ms. Gong's relatives were in tears. -
Mr. Xue Chaoyang and His Wife from Xiao County, Anhui Province, Held in Longshanzi Detention Centre
2008-12-04Mr. Xue Chaoyang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xiao County, Anhui Province, was detained at the Longshanzi Detention Centre in Xiao County. His family now has have no source of income and their life is very difficult. The authorities refused to allow his parents to see him. When Mr. Xue's mother missed him so much that she went to the Xiao County Police Department to inquire about him, Officer Li Wangang pounded on the table to frighten her and drove her off.
