  Prison doctors instigated prisoners to force-feed Falun Dafa practitioners on hunger strike. They beat and curse practitioners at will. One even used a stick to pry open Falun Dafa practitioners' mouths. If he still could not get a practitioner to open his mouth, he would use an awl to drill into the mouth. Many practitioners had their teeth broken; some even lost their teeth permanently.

  Fu Xiaoyun had been unjustly detained by the authorities many times before her death. Her forced captivity included a brainwashing class, a detention centre and even a mental hospital. In the detention centre, she launched a hunger strike in protest. Because of this, she was hung up and beaten for 47 days and then sent to a forced labour camp.

  Since August 1999 Dafa practitioner Yu Zhenyi has been persecuted. Despite pleas from his family members the police would not release him and continued to torture him. Due to his serious condition he was sent to hospital where unknown fluids were forcibly injected into his brain. Due to his severe condition the hospital then refused to "treat" him furthur and he was sent home. He died on June 14, 2002.
