  • Mr. Lu Yuexin and His Wife Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison, Leaving 12-Year-Old Son at Home

    Mr. Lu Yuexin and his wife Ms. Huang Manping were arrested on March 5th, 2008 because they continue to practise Falun Gong. The police drove seven cars to Ms. Huang's home and ransacked it. They have been held at a detention centre since the arrest. The Lanshan County Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Court sentenced the couple to seven years in prison. The couple's 12-year-old son is left without his parents' care.
  • Mr. Li Gu of Nanchang City Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison

    Mr. Li Gu, a Falun Gong practitioner in his 30s, was arrested when he went out at night to distribute Falun Gong materials at the end of January 2008. He was incarcerated in the Nanchang City Second Prison until he was later sentenced to eight years in prison by the Superior Court at Qingshanhu in Nanchang City. He was savagely beaten and his family was denied visitation. His wife was also arrested and incarcerated in the Nanchang City Second Prison.
  • Accounts of Persecution Taking Place in Jiutai Forced Labour Camp of Jilin Province

    Mr. Xie Xue, 60, was transfered to the Jiutai Forced Labour Camp on August 29th because he refused to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. He was tortured in the strict discipline division. This practitioner has had a stroke and one side of his body doesn't function well. Practitioners are forced to get up at 4:00 a.m. and sit on the floor facing a wall, with their backs straight and hands behind their backs. They sit in the same position until midnight except when they are in the toilet or having a meal. During the disciplinary period, practitioners are only given half a steamed bun, half of a bowl of rice or vegetable soup for each meal. They are held at the strict discipline division until they write statements renouncing Falun Gong.
  • Police from the Public Security Bureau in Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province Torture Falun Gong Practitioners

    On March 21st, 2008, five Falun Gong practitioners from Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province were arrested and taken to the local police station, when they were explaining the truth about Falun Gong to people at the Qinglong Mountain Farm. That night, practitioners Mr. Shi Mengwei, Mr. Chen Dong and Mr. Tian Baoyu were locked up separately, and mercilessly beaten by seven or eight policemen. When the policemen became tired, they took a break by interrogating Ms. Yu Fengxian and Ms. Sun Yan, and then continued beating the three male practitioners. The next day, these practitioners were transferred to the Qianjin Farm Detention Centre.
  • Ms. Liu Yurong from Linghai City Sentenced--Now Detained in Shenyang Prison

    Ms. Liu Yurong was sentenced to six years in prison by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). She is currently being detained at the Shenyang Prison. Following her arrest in May for practising Falun Gong she was held in a detention centre. she showed signs of a stroke from the persecution. She was unable to get out of bed. The police ordered her family to give them 800 yuan, but still didn't allow them to visit her. When Ms. Liu Yurong's mother saw how the persecution had damaged the health of her daughter, who was previously very healthy, the older woman broke down and burst into tears.
  • I Was Imprisoned and Persecuted Three Times at Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province

    In 2000 I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Because I stated the truth-- "Falun Gong is truly good"--I was sentenced to one year of forced labour and taken to Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City. Because we did not capitulate or cooperate with the authorities, we were severely tortured. Some of us were deprived of sleep for the whole night; some were handcuffed and forced to stand on their tip-toes, causing their hands to bleed; some passed out from being handcuffed; some were put in solitary confinement, and some were forbidden to use the toilet. Some practitioners went on hunger strikes to protest. The police got four to five people to hold one practitioner down and force food into her mouth with a thick bamboo tube while pinching her nose shut.
  • Ms. Sun Yinghui Arrested and Beaten by Police in Dalian City

    On September 14th, 2008, a dozen people broke into a shop owned by an elderly lady. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Yinghui was at the shop and they arrested her. At the police station, the police asked her whether she practised Falun Gong and said things that slandered this spiritual practice. Ms. Sun told them that was her belief and nobody should interfere. When the police asked Ms. Sun how she obtained her Falun Gong materials, Ms. Sun realized they had searched her home and confiscated her belongings. A 610 Officer brutally beat her. Ms. Sun was in severe pain and almost lost consciousness.
  • Famous Calligrapher Liu Xitong Persecuted in Shandong Province Prison

    Mr. Liu Xitong, 56, a famous calligrapher from Shandong Province, was sentenced to four years of imprisonment by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May 2008 in Qingdao City for practising Falun Gong. Before this, he was detained and persecuted at the detention centre in Qingdao City by CCP officials, who claimed a need to "maintain security for the Olympic Games." His family was prohibited from visiting him. Presently, he is being held in the No.1 Shandong Provincial Prison. His family went to visit him but were denied entry. Mr. Liu refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Because of this, he suffered inhuman torture. Mr. Liu's body and mind were seriously damaged.
  • Mr. Kang Hong Is Sentenced to Forced Labour Again After Having Served Seven Years of Forced Labour

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Kang Hong is a resident of Chongqing City. He has been sentenced to forced labour three times. He has served two two-year terms and one three-year term. On August 23rd, 2008, he was arrested again, and was later sentenced to forced labour once again. He was locked up at Xishanping Forced Labour Camp in Chongqing City. At present, both of his legs are in casts and he is unable to walk.
  • Jixi City Court Sentences Jiang Yabin to Jail Term

    Mr. Jiang Yabin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jixi City of Heilongjiang Province. On October 13th, 2008, when several of his family members went to the city courthouse to appeal for his release and inform the officials about his innocence, the criminal court head Li Jiangang rejected their request. He told them, "Jiang Yabin has been sentenced to three years in jail. The sentence cannot be overturned." Mr. Jiang's family asked, "When was he sentenced? Why were we not informed?" Li told them that the sentence was issued on October 9th and that they should go to the intermediate court if they wanted to appeal.
  • Practitioner from the Countryside in Hebei Province Recounts the Persecution She Has Experienced

    In January 2001, several practitioners and I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. As soon as we arrived in Tiananmen Square we were arrested. It turned out that the Bailong police found out we were missing and followed us all the way to Beijing. 610 Office head Liang Min shouted, "Throw her into the trunk. After we get home, beat her like you are beating cattle." We were detained for three months and sent to a labour camp for a year. While there, they tortured us very badly. In order to force us to give up Falun Gong, they made us stand facing the wall for a long time. They also forced us to stay in a half-squatting posture with our arms around our bodies. The torture went on 24 hours a day.
  • Crimes Observed at the Fangqiang Forced Labour Camp in Jiangsu Province

    Local 610 Office agents arrested me without a warrant and took me to a detention centre. They held a covert trial on June 16th, 2000 and charged me with "sabotaging the administration of state law." I declined the services of the court-appointed lawyer and defended myself. I stated, "I am a good person, living simply according to Falun Gong principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. I have broken no law." The verdict was issued on September 28th, 2000, but the court officials waited until December 12th, 2000 to announce it. First, the judge said no criminal conviction would be filed against me, but then the police declared I had been sentenced to two years of forced labour.
  • Practitioners from Hongxing Airplane Manufacturing Company in Shijiazhuang City Subjected to Persecution

    On July 8th, 2008, Mr. Liu Rongfa, in his sixties, and his wife, Ms. Yin Yanxin, husband and wife were arrested and police ransacked their home. They were first detained at the Shijiazhuang Administrative Detention Centre and then, after more than ten days, Liu Rongfa was taken to a forced labour camp. He was tortured and subjected to physical and mental harm. His blood pressure shot up, and the forced labour camp staff notified his family and told them to post bail for medical treatment. They have yet to release him. Yin Yanxin was transferred to the Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison and denied family visitation. Her situation is unknown.
  • Reports of Persecution at the Second Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province

    The Second Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province uses brutal and inhumane methods to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. One of them is the use of psychotropic drugs in order to make practitioners suffer mental collapses and force them to renounce Falun Gong. Another inhumane method used at the labour camp is adding poison to practitioners' food so that they are unable to sleep, have difficulty with bowel movement/urination, and have swelling in their feet, making them unable to walk.
  • Renowned Chinese Oil Painter Mr. Fan Yiming Imprisoned for Practising Falun Gong

    Before the Olympics, the Chinese Communist regime used the Games as an excuse to arrest Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale. In mid-July 2008, Beijing police arrested renowned oil painter Mr. Fan Yiming and sentenced him to two years of forced labour. Mr. Fan's artwork has been exhibited in China and abroad, with many famous people in Europe and America purchasing his art.
