  Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xifang was fifty eight years old. On September 18, 2001 Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, and was tortured to death there. The policemen claimed that she had jumped to her death from a building. If this were true, then why did they refuse an autopsy to be done and forbid the family members to look at her body closely. Her 7-year-old grandson looked at her body from the outside the reposing room, and said that Ms. Li's head was swollen badly and had a hole in it.

• Torture Death of Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuyuan from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province at the Longshan Forced Labour Camp

  Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuyuan, 52, was from Shenhe District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was tortured to the brink of death during detention at the Longshan Forced Labour Camp. She passed away on April 27, 2004, a week after her release.

• A Non-Practitioner Dies as a Result of the Persecution

  Mr. Liu Zhongyang was a retired employee of the Xishui County Bus Company in Hubei Province. He was 60 years old and lived in Liupulaojia, Yanmao Town, Xishui County, Hubei Province. On April 17, 2004, he received a Falun Dafa truth clarifying VCD, and was reported while watching it at home. Though he was not a Falun Dafa practitioner, the Xima Town police stormed his home, threatened him and attempted to arrest him. His family and neighbours strongly resisted the police action.

• Hebei Province Mayor, Feng Guoguang, Died from Forced Feedings in Labour Camp in 2002

  Former mayor in Hebei Province, was forty-three year old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Feng Guoguang. He was barbarically force-fed in January 2002 while unlawfully detained at Baoding City Forced Labour Camp for refusing to renounce his practice of Falun Dafa. Feng Guoguang started to continuously vomit blood. He was sent to the hospital and treated for ten days. By then he was in a critical condition. The police saw that his condition was critical. In order to escape responsibility for his death, they allowed his family members to take him home. Subsequently, Feng Guoguang passed away as a result of the torture he received in the labour camp

• Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Shuchun Beaten to Death in Shandong Province Labour Camp in 2001

  Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Shuchun was beaten to death because he refused to give up his belief in "Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance" After Liu Shuchun was beaten to death, in order to keep news of their crime from being leaked, the police wrapped up his head and entire body with a cloth and carried his corpse out of the labour camp the next day. However, staff members of the People's Hospital accidentally disclosed information to the news station that the dead body from the labour camp had obviously been beaten to death. The labour camp then requested that the hospital announce his cause of death to be from disease. A few days later, the labour camp told Liu Shuchun's family members that he died from diseases.

• Death of Elderly Henan Province Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Jingrong as a Result of Gross Abuse

  Ms. Wang Jingrong was 60 years old. On December 30, 2001, police detained her because they found Falun Dafa materials at her home. In early February 2002, the police forced the family members to pay a "deposit" of 3,000 Yuan, and forced them to sign a "guarantee statement." (to declare that she would stop practising Falun Gong) During her detention she suffered a recurrence of her old illness, brought on by maltreatment from the police. She died soon after she was released.

• Additional Facts Regarding Practitioner Xu Weiwen's Death by Brutal Torture

  When Ms. Xu Weiwen's completed her term in Banqiao Women's Labour Camp, instead of being released she was sent for further violent brainwashing. Under the direct order from the team chief officer, Jiao Mohua, cellmates were instructed to torture her. They often bragged about how they tortured her and enjoyed undertaking those inhuman acts. After being on a hunger strike and suffering forced-feeding, she decided to eat as her health was very poor. The cellmates told Xu, "How come whenever you refused to eat, you wouldn't eat, and whenever you wanted to eat, you can eat? This time even though you want to eat, we'll not let you eat!" In fact, Xu Weiwen died from forced starvation.

• Inner Mongolia Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhao Yanxia Force-Fed to Death in Chifeng City

  In April 2004, Qiu Xuedong (head of the detention centre) ordered practitioner Ms Zhao Yanxia to be viciously force-fed, as she had gone on a hunger strike to protest her unjust detention. In the end, it was found that she had died. Her body was hastily transported to the hospital. The head of the Chifeng City "610 Office," Yang Chunyue, told other people in person, "If the practitioners were persecuted to death or near-death, they will be sent to a prison, a forced labour camp or a hospital. Once there, the death will be announced and we will have no responsibility. If they die at the detention centre, we will have to bear the responsibility."

• Additional Information about the Unjust Death of Shandong Province Dafa Practitioner Ms. Sun Xiucai in 2001

  50 year old Ms. Sun Xiucai from Shandong Province was reported by a local resident when she went to a village to distribute truth-clarifying materials about the persecution. Ms. Sun was taken to a police station where she was brutally beaten by policemen Li Shaolin and Guo Yugui and suffered all manner of unspeakable tortures. She was sent to a detention centre where health worsened every day. The police hastily ordered her family to take her home. Sun Xiucai died on January 4, 2001.

• An Account of How Wang Dayuan was Tortured to Death by Police in Harbin City No. 1 Prison

  Mr. Wang Dayuan, thirty-six years old, a resident of Harbin, was a lecturer and faculty member in computer studies at Harbin Institute of Technology. On April 2, in order to compel him to write a statement criticizing Falun Gong, the prison police took turns to beat him up and punish him by making him stand in painful postures for a whole day. He was not given any food. On April 3, Wang Dayuan was forced to write a self-criticism statement under undue pressure from the violent beatings. On April 5, Wang Dayuan was in a very bad condition but the police still forced him to work. They also violently beat him in the afternoon. Wang Dayuan stopped breathing that same day.

• Hebei Province Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Dies as a Result of Torture in Brainwashing School

  On the night of February 17, 2004, Zhang Yuzhen was arrested at home and sent to a Detention Centre. She went on a hunger strike to protest the unlawful detention. Then she was sent to Shalingzipiandi Legal School (an illegal brainwashing class) to be tortured. In mid-April, when her family went to visit her, they found she was not clear-headed and seemed to be in a state of mental disorder. However, the police refused to release her or provide any treatment for her. As a result, she died on May 4, 2004. The Dajingmen Police Station didn't inform her family until after her death.

• Ms. Pei Xiuyan Died Due to Delayed Treatment by Detention Centre in 2001

  On January 21, 2001, her cellmates saw that she was on the verge of death and called the guards for help. Only then did captain Yang Shunqing and prison doctor Lu Yushu come to her cell to take a look. A little after 10:00 that morning, they sent her to the hospital. After the checkup, they took her back to the detention centre. Several hours later her cellmates had to call for help again since she again was in critical condition. When the guards came in, they saw she was dying. In order to shirk the responsibility, they sent her again to the hospital around 2:00 in the afternoon. At 9:00 that night she passed away.

  Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Caihou was 70 years old and lived in Gansu Province. In early 2000, perpetrators from Shuangcheng Town arrested and tortured him for six hours, which caused severe injuries. Seeing his dangerous condition, the perpetrators ordered his family to pick him up. He passed away on May 27, 2000 at home.

• Vomiting Blood Resulting from Torture in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp, Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zheng Fuxiang Passes Away

  35 year old Dafa practitioner Mr. Zheng Fuxiang lived in Jilin Province. In March 2002, Dafa practitioners in Changchun tapped into the cable TV network and broadcast programmes clarifying the truth about Dafa. Immediately afterwards, the police started a frenzied wave of arrests. They smashed the windows, entered his home, and viciously beat him and his wife. He was sentenced to three years in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun and subjected to unimaginable torture. Prior to his death, Mr. Zheng Fuxiang was constantly vomiting blood. On the day he passed away, the police went to his home to monitor his family and attempted to arrest Zheng Fuxiang's wife Deng Lijuan. Deng Lijuan was denied the chance to see her husband for the last time before he passed away on April 7, 2004.

• Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Xiao Yali Brutally Force-Fed to Death in Shuangcheng City Detention Centre

  Ms. Xiao Yali, a 37-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, died on March 6, 2004 as a result of being force-fed by police at the No. 2 Detention Centre of Shuangcheng City. She died after being in police custody for only ten days and leaves behind her husband, her parents-in-law and two five-year-old twins. All of her family members are suffering unbearable grief, and many of her neighbours also wept for this kind woman and in empathy for her family.
