Dafa Practitioner Zhang Shengqi from Jilin Province, Dies After Being Subjected to Torture in the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp

Mr. Zhang Shengqi was a 35-year-old Dafa practititioner who formerly lived in Jilin Province. In April 2001 he was incarcerated in the Baishan City Forced Labour Camp. Because he refused to renounce his belief, the guards often brutally tortured him. Later he was transferred to the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp in Changchun City. He suffered all kinds of cruel torture and was persecuted by the authorities there to force him to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. As a result of the abuse, he became emaciated. In March 2002, he was released on medical parole to his family members care but never recovered and died on February 26, 2004. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhao Mingxiang Tortured to Death by Police in Shandong Province
2004-06-03Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Mingxiang was 46 years old and lived in Shandong Province. He was forced to leave home for four years because of the persecution. On December 21, 2003, he was arrested while distributing truth clarification materials in Duanbolan Town, Jimo City. Villagers discovered his body in a haystack on December 30, 2003. On May 25, 2004, Zhao Mingxiang's family went to the Jimo City Police Department to claim the body. The police said Zhao Mingxiang died from "hunger and cold weather." Zhao Mingxiang obviously died after suffering nine days of brutal torture at the Duanbolan Police Station in Jimo City. We assume the police disposed of his body in order to escape responsibility. -
Elderly Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhou Yuqin from Hebei Province Died as a Result of Torture in 2001
2004-06-03Ms. Zhou Yuqin, 59 years old, lived in Tangshan City of Hebei Province. On June 9, 2001, police officer Zhang Zhiqiang and others from the Kaiping Police Station came to her home and detained her in the Kaiping Brainwashing Centre. She was given only three and a half steamed buns each day to eat. The cruel physical and mental torture she was forced to endure made her weaker and weaker, until her life was in danger. The brainwashing class personnel feared to take responsibility, so they ordered her family members to take her home. Forty days after she returned home, all the attempts to restore her health failed, and she died on September 1, 2001. -
Mr. Tian Lifu Passed Away in 2001 from the Torture He Received In Detention in Wuhan City
2004-06-03Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Lifu was around 50 years of age and lived in Wuhan City. In February 2000, Tian Lifu was abducted and sent to a Detention Centre in Wuhan City where he was physically and mentally tortured. Soon after, he was sent to a Brainwashing Centre where he was further abused and mistreated. His condition worsened by the day but the persecution didn't end. He was handcuffed even when he was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment. He was sent home and put under watch. During this period, he was constantly harassed, threatened and interrogated. Tian Lifu passed away in November 2001. -
Follow-up Report on the Torture Death of Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Yufang from Zhangjiakou City
2004-06-01Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Yufang was 49 years old. On May 17, 2003, Yang Yufang was arrested. She went on a hunger strike to protest the unjust treatment. So they brutally force-fed her. Yang Yufang suffered all kinds of torture at the hands of the authorities. On June 16, 2003, Her youngest son received a phone call from an official who told his family to come over. The authorities said, "Yang Yufang suffered from acute diabetes at the detention centre and was rushed to the No. 5 Hospital on June 14. For three days she was under constant care and died at 12:05 p.m. on June 16. Yang Yufang's husband was shocked by the news, because she never had diabetes in her whole life. How could such a healthy and strong woman die in less than one month? When they saw her body it was in a terrible state. Her family were beyond shock! -
Police Beat Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Xianglan to Death in Shandong Province
2004-05-31Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xianglan, a 48-year-old woman from a village in Shandong Province, was taken by police to the police station in 2001. When Li Xianglan was taken, her family, who were rural people, became very frightened that they would also be implicated. so they did not even go to the local police station, which was less than 500 meters from their home, to inquire about her. When she was released she was in poor physical condition and barely able to walk. She collapsed on the ground and her distressed husband called for his daughter and son-in-law. They moved her to a bed and discovered that she had already died. Upon viewing the body, they noticed that her legs were all bruised and missing skin in places. -
Additional Facts Regarding the Torture Death of Ms. Liu Caiyun at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp
2004-05-31Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Caiyun, over thirty years old, came from Yongzhou, Hunan Province. In October 2000, she was abducted by police while she was walking to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The police took her to Zhuzhou's Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, where she was tortured for eight months. Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In March 2003, Ms. Liu Caiyun was tortured until she was in critical condition. Later, Liu Caiyun died as a result of the continual torture she was subjected to at Zhuzhou's Baimalong Forced Labour Camp. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Mingkai from Liaoning Province Dies from Torture-induced Illness After Becoming Homeless to Avoid Further Persecution
2004-05-30Zhang Mingkai was a Dafa practitioner from Liaoning Province. On April 9, 2002, authorities in Dalian City launched a mass arrest of practitioners. Zhang was arrested. While in detention, Zhang was beaten and insulted many times by criminals in the same cell. He was also forced to scratch criminals' backs covered with scabies. By the next month when Zhang was released, he had also developed scabies all over his body. After his release, in order to avoid further persecution, Zhang and his wife were forced into homelessness. Because of poor living conditions and lack of medical care, Zhang passed away in May 2003, seven months after he left home. -

Death of Practitioner Zhou Rong in 2001 and Other Persecution Cases in Guizhou Province
2004-05-30Mr. Zhou Rong used to live in a district of Guiyang City. He was arrested when he went to Beijing to appeal in 2000. First he was sent to Tianjin City, then Hebei Province, until he was dying. After he was sent home, his family took him to PLA No.44 Hospital for emergency treatment. He died in the hospital in 2001, only in his 20's. -
Langfang City Authorities Cause Death of Mr Zhengting Ma, His Wife and Daughter Also Suffer Brutal Persecution
2004-05-29Both Fengyin Li and her husband Zhengting were arrested and sent to a local detention centre in Langfang City on five separate occasions. In the detention centre, he was tortured and suffered both physically and psychologically. Later he was sent to a brainwashing centre, where he was psychologically persecuted. He died after being forced to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. Their daughter Li Ma was sent to the detention centre on two separate occasions. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zheng Zhiqiang’s Dead Body Hung Up from Window by Officials in Dalian Prison Clinic
2004-05-29Mr. Zheng Zhiqiang was a 37 year old practitioner from Liaoning Province. He had been severely tortured because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. Mr. Zheng was finally brought to the Dalian Prison Clinic in an extremely weakened condition during the Chinese New Year Season. On the morning of April 4, 2004, witnesses saw his dead body hung by the neck in the window of No.2 room. Prisoners were shocked, and said that the prison officials plotted this to escape responsibility for their crimes. -
Mr. Yan Liyou from Hainan Province Dies as a Result of Torture
2004-05-27Mr. Yan Liyou was the former general manager of Huayi Industry Development Company in Hainan Province. When he was young, he was in a car accident and was paralyzed. Even though he spent lots of money to seek a cure, there was no effective treatment and he was confined to a wheelchair. At the end of 1998, he started practising Falun Gong. Soon he was able to stand up and walk on his own. When the persecution started against Falun Gong he went many times to appeal against the injustice and was brutally tortured. Despite the torture, he held firm to his belief in Dafa. After nine months of torture in a labour camp, he was only skin and bones. He kept throwing up blood. Not until he was near death did the police release him. he eventually passed away on April 12, 2004. -
57-year-old Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Fu Meihui from Guandong Province Died as a Result of Torture in 2001
2004-05-26Ms. Fu Meihui was a 57-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Guangdong Province. In violation of the Chinese Constitution, the police arrested her for practising Falun Gong and she was forced to do slave labour for over ten hours a day. Unable to eat or drink during detention, both her body and mind were severely damaged. Seeing her at the brink of death, the police sent her home without giving her any treatment. Her husband had already been arrested for practising Falun Gong and their home had been ransacked. Under the pressure of these multiple calamities, Ms. Fu Meihui passed away in January 2001. -
The Authorities Arrest Two Sisters; their Mother Dies of a Heart Attack Brought on From Worry and Grief
2004-05-26In January of 2004, police officers in Handan City, Hebei Province arrested Ms. Tang Hui, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Handan. Upon witnessing both of her daughters being dragged into the police vehicles, Li Lunhui was extremely worried and very upset. Soon Li and her husband went together to the office of An Zhenzhi, the person responsible for arresting her daughters. The couple insisted that they be permitted to visit their daughters, but were refused. Having learned that her daughters were being tortured while in custody, Ms. Li became extremely upset. She suffered a sudden, massive heart attack, and died at 6:30 a.m., March 30, 2004. In such a short period of time, a happy family was torn apart by tragedy as a result of the persecution.
