Older Ms. Yang Cuifen Dies as a Result of Persecution
2013-10-31
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Cuifen, in her sixties, suddenly passed away on October 2nd, 2013, in Yunnan Province No. 2 Women’s Prison, where she had been incarcerated for more than four years. Ms. Yang’s family got a phone call from the prison informing them that she was in critical condition, and ordering them to go to the hospital to sign some documents. At the hospital, Ms. Yang's family saw that she was unrecognizable, unconscious, and barely breathing. Ms. Yang's family were taken aback by her sudden death as they hadn't noticed anything wrong in the past four years when they visited her at the prison. -
Ms. Xu Zhen Tortured to Death in a Labour Camp in Just 20 Days
2013-10-26The last scream from Ms. Xu Zhen was heard at 9:00 am on October 20th, 2011. It was the day that she was smothered to death at the Division 4 building of the Chongqing Women’s Forced Labour Camp. After cultivating Falun Gong, Ms. Xu became more energetic. She followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and became a much better person. However, being a good person did not prevent her from being injected with central nervous system damaging drugs in the forced labour camp, and being tortured to death. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Tortured to Death, His Sister's Household Registration Record Changed Without Consent
2013-10-26When the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, many practitioners were arrested, incarcerated, and tortured. Many became disabled, and some even died. One such practitioner, Mr. Tan Yanjun from Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, was detained three times for practising Falun Gong. He was tortured so often and so brutally that he became paralysed. When his condition became critical in the middle of November 2004, he was released on medical parole. On February 27th, 2005, he died as a result of his injuries. He is survived by two young children. In addition, Tan Yanjun's younger sister, Tan Yanwei, had her residence registration changed by the police without her authorisation. -
Ms. Li Jumei Forced to Flee Home to Avoid Imprisonment, Her Husband Persecuted to Death
2013-10-22Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Guo Huisheng and Ms. Li Jumei, husband and wife, were arrested and detained in 2009. Mr. Guo was persecuted to death, and Ms. Li was tortured so badly that she bled profusely. Only then was she granted bail for medical treatment. Since the Chinese communist regime started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Li has been detained many times, sent to a forced labour camp twice, and issued heavy fines. -
Ms. Zhang Xingqi Arrested Again, Her Husband Died from Persecution
2013-10-22Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xingqi was arrested at her home on September 3rd, as she was cooking dinner. 610 Officers (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), police and other officials from the neighbourhood committee entered her home and forcibly took her to the Wujiahuayuan Brainwashing Centre, where Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted for over ten years. Ms. Zhang’s husband, Mr. Li Zhen, was arrested for transporting Falun Gong materials. Mr. Li Zhen, 52, passed away on May 26th, 2004. -
Ms. Ma Changyue, 60, from Shenyang City Dies as a Result of Persecution
2013-10-15Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Changyue from Shenyang City was arrested in June 2012 while distributing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. She was then taken to the Shenyang City Detention Centre where she was severely tortured. As a result, Ms. Ma's life was in imminent danger. Officials at the detention centre released her on medical bail to avoid responsibility. In March 2013, Dadong District Court sentenced Ms. Ma to three years in prison. Ms. Ma's health didn't improve and she passed away on August 28th, at the age of 60. -
A 61-Year-Old Practitioner Believed to Be Poisoned to Death at a Brainwashing Centre
2013-10-15Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ding Wenbin had been held in the Suning Brainwashing Centre for 30 days, when he was suddenly taken home. It first appeared that Mr. Ding was okay, but his health drastically deteriorated very suddenly in the ensuing 104 days. He passed away on September 16th, 2013. His family and friends strongly suspect that he was poisoned in the brainwashing centre. -
Older Ms. Gu Xinzhi Tortured to Death in 2002 -- Family Files Lawsuit
2013-10-15Ms. Gu Xingzhi, 64, resided in Miyi County, Sichuan Province. She died on November 7th, 2002 in Miyi Detention Centre while she was still tied to the torture apparatus called the death bed. She had been mercilessly tortured with forced-feeding and unknown drugs. The police threatened her family to remain silent about her death. Recently, Ms. Gu's younger sister, Ms. Gu Xingfeng, decided to file a lawsuit against guards Zhu Chenglong, Lin Hai and doctor Cheng Qing, who were responsible for Ms Gu's death. -
Mr. Li Yuejin, 53, from Beijing Died as a Result of Persecution
2013-10-09Mr. Li Yuejin from Beijing was arrested for the fifth time on August 12th, 2012. He was later sentenced to the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp. During his detention, he developed serious symptoms of a heart problem, after he was given an injection in the labour camp, and was then released on medical parole on April 3rd, 2013. It is suspected that he was purposely poisoned by the guards. Mr. Li had said before he died, “It is so evil there (referring to the labour camp), and they persecuted me like this.” Mr. Li died on the morning of October 1st. -
Mr. Ma Changyong, 58, Passed Away After Years of Torture
2013-10-08Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma Changyong was arrested, detained, and tortured (physically and mentally) numerous times since the Chinese regime started its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. At home, he was closely monitored by the local neighbourhood committee. After he was released from a forced labour camp, Mr. Ma passed away on November 18th, 2010. His funeral was even monitored by plainclothes police. -
Poison Suspected in the Death of Ms Xu Decun
2013-10-08Ms. Xu Decun, 52, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. She was arrested on May 2nd, 2010, and was sentenced to two years in prison. She felt weak all over after she was released in 2012. She was unable to eat anything after the 2013 New Year. It is believed that she was poisoned in prison. She was sent to the Zaozhuang City Hospital on September 1st, 2013, and died on September 6th. -
Atrocities Committed in the Chinese Communist Regime's Brainwashing Facilities
2013-10-08The Chinese communist regime has set up numerous brainwashing centres all over China to detain, brainwash and torture Falun Gong practitioners, including the elderly and pregnant women. These facilities are euphemistically labelled “Legal Education Training Centres” to deceive the public. Mr. Zhu Xianghe, 64, was beaten to death in the Sutang Village Brainwashing Centre of Suining County, Xuzhou City, on May 4th, 2005. His eyes were dug out, and his organs were cut out. -
My Brother Was Tortured to Death Within Ten Days at Gangbei Prison
2013-10-07After being held in prison for 11 years, I was released on medical parole on April 26th, 2013 because of ill health. On arriving home, I was told that my younger brother, Mr. Li Xiwang, died ten days after he was taken to Gangbei Prison. I was told that my brother suffered what is called the “anchor torture.” In this torture method the person's legs are kept straight and fixed, held upright by iron pipes, while the hands are shackled to the ground. The back is arched and the legs are immobile. My brother was anchored for over ten hours (the maximum time one can endure this torture method is two hours). He was found dead at midnight. -
Mr. Cao Jingyu Dies After Enduring Seven Years of Imprisonment
2013-10-07Mr. Cao Jingyu, from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was imprisoned for seven years for his belief in Falun Gong. He was tortured and force-fed during the incarceration. He was forced to do slave labour during the day and subjected to physical punishment at night. Upon his release, agents from the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) continued to harass him at home, and his health deteriorated further. Mr. Cao passed away on September 22nd, 2013, at the age of 40. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Continue to Be Detained and Tortured in Dalian Rehabilitation Centre
2013-09-24The Dalian Rehabilitation Centre, formerly known as the Dalian Forced Labour Camp, has released several of its detainees. However, Falun Gong practitioners are still being held in the centre and tortured. Although the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claims that it is shutting down the forced labour camp system, practitioners are still being persecuted in other locations such as brainwashing centres and prisons. Since 2008, the Dalian Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province has been notorious for the methods of torture it uses on practitioners. To cover up its crimes and continue persecuting practitioners, officials at the camp changed the name to the “Dalian Rehabilitation Centre.”
