  • More Information about Mr. Yang Zhonggeng's Death in Police Custody

    Mr. Yang Zhonggeng, 38, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Ruian City, Zhejiang Province. He was arrested on June 24th, 2013, and is believed to have been beaten to death within 4 days after his arrest, on June 28th, by police. When Mr. Yang's family viewed his body they noted that it was covered with bruises and one of his legs was black and blue. An autopsy was performed and the medical examiner said that Mr. Yang did not die as a result of physical trauma. Mr. Yang's internal organs were removed and refrigerated for further investigation. His body was cremated. Although it appeared without a doubt that Mr. Yang was beaten to death, nobody dares to admit it.

    Young Wang Xin had two older sisters. The younger sister died from shock when the police broke into their home, while the older one was forced to leave school and stay at a forced labour camp for two years. Wang Xin was sent to a detention facility, and he wailed and cried every day, telling the adults, “I just want to go home!” Wang Xin is the Wang family's only son. His parents owned a small shop, and both practise Falun Gong. After the persecution began, the parents were arrested, and the family lost their source of income.
  • Ms. Yang Fenglan, 69, from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Died Due to Persecution

    Ms. Yang Fenglan was arrested four times for her belief in Falun Gong. She was sentenced to three years in prison in 2009. Ms. Yang became severely ill during her imprisonment in the Hohhot Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. She was eventually released for medical attention, but passed away on June 19th, 2013 after two years of unsuccessful medical treatment.
  • Mr. Fang Zhengping Dies in Prison in Xichang, Sichuan, after His Seventh Arrest

    Mr. Fang Zhengping was a Falun Gong practitioner in Xichang, Sichuan Province. He was arrested for telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong in Yunnan Province, on October 14th, 2007. The Suijiang County Court sentenced him to seven years in prison. He died at the age of 57 after being tortured in the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison. Before he died in prison, Mr. Fang had been jailed for 106 out of the 165 months since July 1999. Ms. Cheng, his wife, was sentenced to ten years in prison on September 14th, 2010, and is imprisoned in the Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang, Sichuan Province.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Qingmei Dies after Years of Torture

    Ms. Liu Qingmei, 54, from Shandong Province passed away on September 3rd, 2013, in the Anqiu City Hospital. Her death was a direct result of the persecution she had been subjected to at Shandong Women's Prison, where she was stripped naked and severely tortured repeatedly since 2008. She became mentally disordered at one point. She couldn't walk and suffered from high blood pressure and kidney disease.
  • Recording of Bo Xilai's Voice Confirms Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Brutality Against Falun Gong

    Bo Xilai has recently been sentenced for certain crimes, but his involvement in organ harvesting atrocities from Falun Gong practitioners has not been publicly discussed or prosecuted. However, a voice recording implicating his involvement in live organ harvesting was recently obtained. In the recording, which was made several years ago, Bo states that Jiang Zemin gave the order to initiate the process of live organ harvesting.
  • Five Outstanding Teachers in Daqing Persecuted to Death by the Chinese Communist Party

    As of April 28th, 2013, among the 67 Falun Gong practitioners from Daqing persecuted to death, five were outstanding teachers. They died because they remained steadfast in their belief and conducted themselves according to Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. One teacher, Mr. Bai Shuang, was in his 50s. After the persecution started on July 20th, 1999, he was repeatedly arrested and his home was ransacked. He was detained and tortured. Mr. Bai was taken to the Daqing Forced Labour Camp, where he died as a result of abuse.
  • Two Forced Labour Camps in Hunan Province Face Shut-down

    The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong is approaching a dead end, along with the forced-labour camp system in China. Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp started releasing prisoners other than Falun Gong practitioners early this year. The camp were secretive about releasing its detainees so Falun Gong practitioners would not be aware of it. Some inmates left overnight. In May this year, the camp released quite a few people. After finding out, practitioners demanded to be released. The Baimalong camp has released nearly 50 people this year. Falun Gong practitioners were not released until they finished their terms.
  • Mr. Ma Tianjun Passes Away after Eight Years of Torture in Prison

    Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ma Tianjun and his wife, Ms. Li Yi, were arrested in August 2002. Mr. Ma was sentenced to eleven years in prison. After eight years of torture he became paralysed, unable to speak, and was dying. He was released in 2010, as he was dying, and the prison wanted to shirk responsibility for his possible death. He passed away on July 3rd, 2013. While on medical parole, he was closely monitored by local government agencies and the local police station.

    Mr. Li Jinpeng was imprisoned twice for a total of 11 years for his belief in Falun Gong. While incarcerated, he was severely tortured and mistreated, which had dire consequences on his health. Mr. Li passed away on August 15th, 2013, at the age of 47 just six months after being released from his last incarceration.
  • Husband Tortured to Death, Wife Disabled after Eight Years of Imprisonment

    Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Gai Xiuqin and her husband Mr. Lu Guanglin were arrested and sentenced to prison in March 2005. Mr. Lu was sentenced to 13 years, and in February of 2009, he died as a result of severe torture. His wife, Ms. Gai, was sentenced to eight years and suffered inhumane torture in Liaoning Women’s Prison. When she was finally released, she was disabled, with back and shoulder pain, and unable to straighten or bend her fingers.

  • Witnessing the Death of Ms. Li Baojie at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    Many years ago, I was arrested by the Chinese police for talking to people about Falun Gong. I was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, where I was forced to do slave labour. In 2005, I witnessed another Falun Gong practitioner – 33-year-old Ms. Li Baojie from Panjin City – being tortured to death at the forced labour camp. Ms. Li Baojie had been on hunger stike to protest the prsecution. Guards and inmates sat on top of Ms. Li and stepped on her arms, legs and feet with leather boots. While pinching Ms. Li's nose to prevent her from breathing, a doctor force-fed Ms. Li. Under the stress of the guards' abuse, her whole body turned purple and she died shortly after.

    Ms. Zhang Tianxiao immigrated to Toronto, Canada from China in 1998. While spending time with her three-month-old daughter in March 2001, she was shocked and heartbroken to learn that her brother-in-law, Mr. Zou Songtao, had been tortured to death the prior November. Mr. Zou was only 28 years old when he died, and his daughter Rongrong was only 11 months old. The sudden tragedy made Ms. Zhang find out more about Falun Gong and what made practitioners so steadfast in their faith. She found that Falun Gong teaches people to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Soon, Ms. Zhang also became a Falun Gong practitioner.
