  • Persecution Events Leading to the Death of Zhang Qingchao, a Well-Known Officer at Quzhou County, Hubei Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Qingchao was well-known and considered a good person throughout many villages in Handan District, Hebei Province. Mr. Zhang was the vice secretary of the Communist Party Committee at Huaiqiao Township. He was persecuted many times for faithfully cultivating Falun Gong. He was sent to a forced labour camp twice and subjected to severe mental and physical torture. The slave labour there consisted of making flower circles from shortly after six in the morning until nine thirty p.m.
  • Mr. Shao Shixiang, 60, from Baiyin City, Gansu Province Died After Being Forcibly Injected with Unknown Substances

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shao Shixiang, 60, spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution outside Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou City in February 2012. Lanzhou police arrested him and sent him to the Baiyin Detention Centre. The police officers brutally beat him to the point that his entire body was covered with cuts and bruises. He was later taken to the Psychiatric Department of the hospital, where he was given eight injections of unknown substances. Afterwards, Mr. Shao became delirious and was unable to speak. When he was in critical condition, Mr. Shao was sent home. Less than one month after being released, he passed away on February 22nd.
  • Elderly Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Diansong Died after Arrest in Weihai, Shandong Province

    Ms. Wang Diansong, 68, and Ms. Qi Mei were hanging banners exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in Chucun Village, Weihai, Shandong Province, on May 12th, 2012, when police surrounded them. It was later learned that Ms. Wang Diansong died that night, and Ms. Qi Mei was injured, and is still being held in detention. Ms. Wang's family arrived at the Weihai Police station on May 16th. According to forensic examination, Ms. Wang had multiple fractures of her ribs, and there were injuries to her face and the back of her head.
  • Ms. Li Guizhen from Sanmenxia City Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Guizhen was arrested by police on February 18th, 2012. She had been held at the Shan County Detention Centre for nearly three months, and sent to the Sanmenxia City Hospital when she was on the verge of death. She became very weak and needed support while walking. The police attempted to prosecute her and issue her a sentence, to escalate her persecution. She died on May 17th at the age of 48.

  • Ms. Xu Chensheng Dies the Day She Is Arrested

    Ms. Xu Chensheng, 47, was arrested on the street by officers from the Renmin West Street Police Station on the morning of May 16th, 2012. She died suddenly after being interrogated for 12 hours. The police department notified her family two days later, claiming that she had died of illness. What caused Ms. Xu's death? Her family and friends are full of grief and anger. They hired an attorney and a medical examiner to find out the true cause of Ms. Xu's death.
  • Architect Mr. Yue Shengzhu from Sha County, Fujian Province, Dies Due to Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yue Shengzhu, 38, died on May 3rd, 2012, after facing long-term abuse in a forced labour camp. His wife, Ms. Yue Mudi, was sentenced to five years in prison and is still detained. Previously Mr. Yue was sentenced to five years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong and detained in Minxi Prison. He went on a hunger strike for about a week in protest. However, every day during his hunger strike, he was sent to a hospital to be force-fed. When he was released in 2005, he was extremely emaciated.
  • Sixty-Four-Year-Old Ms. Zhou Guilan from Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province Died As a Result of the Persecution

    Ms. Zhou Guilan, 64, lived in Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province. After she began practising Falun Gong, her lung cancer disappeared. She told others the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution, and was subsequently arrested by local police. Beilin District Court officials sentenced her to three and a half years in prison. Ms. Zhou appealed, accusing the Suihua 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of persecuting her. Her family hired a lawyer for her, but before the second trial hearing could be held, Ms. Zhou passed away on March 29th, 2012.
  • Mr. Ma Zhanfang, a Falun Gong Practitioner in His 70s from Jilin Province, Dies Due to Persecution

    Mr. Ma Zhanfang, 74, began practising Falun Gong in 1998, and he and his family benefited a lot from the practice. However, after the large-scale persecution of Falun Gong started in July of 1999, Mr. Ma was continually persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because of his belief. His home was ransacked, and he was detained and imprisoned. Mr. Ma was arrested on April 27th, 2011 and sentenced to six and a half years in prison. He was taken to the Xinsheng Prison in Gongzhuling City. He passed away on May 7th, 2012, after several months of imprisonment. The prison authorities forcibly took his body to the mortuary. Mr. Ma Zhanfang's son, Ma Jun, is now representing his family to appeal, requesting punishment for all the responsible parties as well as compensation.

  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Fu Guichun Dies after Eight Years of Persecution in Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fu Guichun was arrested in May 2002 and forced to have an abortion; she was then sentenced to eight years in prison and held in Harbin Women's Prison. Ms. Fu was brutally persecuted to the point of unconsciousness numerous times. She developed diabetes and other illnesses in prison. When she was released in 2009, she was traumatised and injured both mentally and physically. Ms. Fu died on May 1st, only in her forties.
  • Elderly Qin Yuping from Heilongjiang Province Dies Seven Years after Her Son's Death as a Result of Persecution

    Ms. Qin Yuping was the mother of Mr. Pan Xingfu, who was tortured almost to death in 2005 in Mudanjiang Prison and then died at home. In 2002, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities sentenced him to five years in prison because he wouldn't give up practising Falun Gong. They were both Falun Gong practitioners. On April 7th, 2012, Ms. Qin passed away seven years after the loss of her beloved son. She was 72 years old.
  • Son Dies From Torture--Mother Not Allowed to View Remains Five Years Later

    Five years ago, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Huang Fujun from Acheng District in Harbin City was tortured to death by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police. His elderly parents lived in Guangxi Province and were not in good health. Mr. Huang's wife reluctantly bore the sorrow of his death alone and didn't tell her in-laws about her husband's death, fearing that they couldn't bear the pain of losing their son. In order to seek justice, she has refused to cremate her husband's remains. However, her in-laws continually ask about their son. Finally, she couldn't keep the news from them any longer and told Mr. Huang's family about his death.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yin Jinmei from Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province Dies As a Result of Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yin Jinmei suffered severe persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) including detention and forced drug administration. After she was released from the Nanchang Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jianxi Province, she was extremely weak, short of breath, had a poor appetite and could not sleep. She died on May 9th, 2012.
  • Ms. Wang Jie Passes Away After Long-Term Torture In Prison

    By 2002, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Jie had seen many other practitioners from Liaoning Province brutally persecuted and disabled by torture, and their families torn apart. Ms. Wang and fellow practitioners decided to collect persecution evidence and publish the names of the perpetrators. However, Ms Wang did not realize her phone was being monitored and she was arrested in October 2002 by police. She was hung by her handcuffs on a wall for two days and nights, and sentenced to seven years in prison. When she finally got out of the hell-like prison in October 2009 she was extremely weak and had contracted bladder cancer. She passed away on April 21st, 2012.
