  • Associated Press Worldstream Reports on Falun Gong Practitioners' March Through Central Athens to Call for Attention to the Persecution in China

    On the 11th of August, The Associated Press reported on Falun Gong practitioners' parade through central Athens to call for attention from international society regarding the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. One Falun Gong practitioner pointed out that although Beijing has been approved to hold the 2008 Olympics, its current human rights situation opposes the values which the Olympics are founded upon.
  • EFGIC: Criminal Lawsuit Filed against Chinese Officials in Athens

    ATHENS (EFGIC) – One week prior to the opening of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, three Falun Gong practitioners, including 37 year-old Australian citizen Chris Cominos, jointly submitted a criminal lawsuit against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, former Vice-Premier Li Lanqing, and Politburo Standing Committee member Luo Gan for genocide and torture.

    According to RFA’s report, two Greek Falun Gong practitioners have already sued three Chinese officials, including former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and the former Chinese Vice-President Li Lanqing, accusing them of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong’s lawyer says that they demand the Athens judiciary gives orders to arrest the three officials if they set foot in Athens to watch the Olympic Games.

    A battered woman with large gashes in her leg crouches inside a small cage on the corner of 8th Avenue and 42nd Street. The woman's name is Nelly Au who is a practitioner of Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, a meditation practice that was outlawed in China in 1999. She is one of four people in an exhibit demonstrating the tortures used on practitioners of Falun Gong in China.

  • Radio France Internationale: The Tanzanian Judiciary Confirms the Lawsuit Against Chen Zhili for Persecuting Falun Gong

    On Wednesday August 4th 2004, Radio France Internationale broadcast a report in Chinese to Mainland China and Metropolitan Paris. The French Falun Dafa Association recently sent a message claiming that on Tuesday the Tanzanian Judiciary fixed the case of Falun Gong suing China’s State Councillor Chen Zhili for crimes of persecuting Falun Gong as a criminal case. Related proceedings are listed for hearing.

  • Radio France Internationale: Falun Gong Practitioners Sue Zhao Zhizhen

    In a fax from the Falun Dafa information Centre to Radio France International, it stated that Falun Gong practitioners had sued Zhao Zhizhen, the former Wuhan TV Station Director and the former Wuhan Radio Station Director. On August 2nd, Zhao submitted an application for an extension to appear in a U.S. federal court with the excuse that his English was limited.

    'According to news from Paris, the European Falun Dafa Association held a press conference announcing that two Greek lawyers, on behalf of three Falun Gong practitioners from Australia, Ireland and Greece, filed a criminal lawsuit against former Chinese Dictator Jiang Zemin as well as former Vice Premier Li Lanqiang and another top official Luo Gan.'

    A passport extension application made by Falun Gong practitioner Mr Wang Yong was refused by the Chinese Consulate in Vienna on July the 21st 2004. The reason for the refusal is that Mr Wang practises Falun Dafa and regularly participates in peaceful appeal activities at the Chinese Consulate in Vienna.
  • EFGIC: State Councillor Could Face Criminal Trial for Using China’s School System as Indoctrination and Persecution Centres

    'LONDON [EFGIC]– State Councillor and former Minister of Education Ms. Chen Zhili will face criminal proceedings before a Tanzanian High Court where she has been sued for torture and extra judicial killings. The suit was filed on July 19 2004 against Chen while she was visiting several African nations. On Aug. 3, a Tanzanian judge gave the green light for a criminal trial to proceed against her.'

    On August 3, 2004, a preliminary judgement by a judge in Tanzania's capital, Dar Es Salaam, cleared the way for a criminal trial of Chen Zhili, China's former Minister of Education. The affidavit, brought forward by Falun Gong practitioners in Ethiopia and supported by practitioners in many other countries, charges Chen Zhili with murder and torture of Chinese teachers and students who practice Falun Gong.
  • EFGIC: Tanzania - Judge Gives Green Light to Criminal Trial of Chinese State Councillor

    'LONDON [EFGIC] – The historic legal action against Chen Zhili, a Member of the Chinese State Council, has taken a major step forward. The preliminary judgement in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on August 3 was in favour of the Falun Gong practitioners in Ethiopia, on whose behalf attorneys brought the case. With the judge’s decision, the civil action has been concluded, clearing the way for a criminal trial. The case is now in the process of being moved to the Chief State Prosecutor’s office.'
  • Radio Free Asia: Falun Gong Hold Activities Around Europe to Protest Against Five Years of Persecution

    On 20th July 1944, Claus Schenk Graf von Strauffenberg planted a bomb in a briefcase in a conference room where Hitler was meeting with top military aides. The bomb exploded but Hitler escaped with only minor injuries. Later on, about 180 to 200 plotters were rounded up, tortured and executed by the Gestapo. By coincidence, on 20th July 1999, millions of people’s lives were turned upside down due to the brutal persecution against Falun Gong, orchestrated by the Chinese Communist Party dictator Jiang Zemin.

    On the 11th of June 2004, Sweden’s Hallands County newspaper published reports about Zhizhen Dai and little Fadu on the front and second page, together with two large pictures.Journalist Ms Martinsson reported in her article the intention of this mother and daughter coming to Scandinavia and the persecution they have suffered. The report said four years ago, her husband was persecuted to death for being a Falun Gong practitioner.
