  • Canterbury Express (Australia): A fight for faith, Arrested, imprisoned and mentally and physically tortured for Falun Gong; Local sues ex-leader of China

    A YAGOONA artist will continue her fight against former Chinese president Jiang Zemin this Friday when her accusations of torture are expected to be heard in the NSW Supreme Court. Zhang Cuiying, who said she migrated to Australia in 1991, will allege that upon her 1999 return to China she was arrested, imprisoned and subjected to mental and physical torture for practising Falun Gong. The Falun Gong belief system is described as a form of exercise which focuses on improving the mind and body.
  • United States: Falun Gong Practitioners Take Part in the San Jose Christmas Parade

    On December 5th, 2004, the San Jose Christmas Parade was held on Santa Clara Street in Downtown San Jose California. Among the more than one hundred groups participating in the parade, Falun Gong was the only Chinese-American group invited. The NBC television network broadcast the parade live to million of viewers.

  • New Zealand: Practitioners Participate in Multicultural Festival

    On December 4th, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in New Zealand participated in the 2004 Multicultural Festival sponsored by the Rotorua Ethnic Council. They performed a dance called "Heaven and Earth," a waist-drum performance, and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. Their efforts were warmly received by the audience.
  • Canada: "Uncompromising Spirit" Art Exhibition Successfully Held at Humber College in Toronto

    From December 1st to 3rd, 2004, the "Uncompromising Spirit" Art Exhibition was successfully held at Humber College in Toronto. This was the fourth stop of the Canadian painting exhibition tour.Through the art exhibition, students learned the facts and expressed their sympathy toward the persecuted practitioners in China.
  • Epoch Times: Beijing's Accusation of Taiwan's Involvement in Falun Gong TV Interception Denounced as Nonsense

    According to a report from Epoch Times (a global Chinese newspaper) on December 2nd, 2004, Beijing TV Channel One was tapped into and broadcast programs that explained the true facts about Falun Gong. Viewers in different areas reported seeing varying lengths of the video, from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. The International Herald Leader under the flag of Xinhua News Net claimed that Taiwan's Intelligence Agency secretly trained Falun Gong practitioners with the technology to tap into the TV signal. Officials from Taiwan's Department of Defence denounced the accusation as nonsense.
  • Korea: A New Practitioner Gains Health Improvement through the Practise of Falun Gong and is Actively Involved in Exposing the Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioners have been holding an anti-torture exhibition every Sunday to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Ms. Xu Jiashu, who started practising Falun Gong in October this year, has voluntarily participated in the exhibition since November 14th and has attracted the media's attention.
  • Taiwan: Introducing Falun Gong at a School Celebration

    On November 14th, 2004, a school-wide Games was held in celebration of the forty-eighth anniversary of Dapu Elementary School of Miaoli County, Taiwan. Second on the program was a demonstration of the five sets of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) exercises. It had the most participants among all the programs and made a fine spectacle.
  • Canada: Introducing Falun Dafa in Penticton and Kelowna, British Columbia

    Penticton is a small city famous for its abundant fruits and wines in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in Penticton's annual Christmas parade. On November 27th 2004, about 50 Falun Gong practitioners from Vancouver drove to Penticton for the parade.

    The Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference began smoothly at 4:00 pm on November 28th in 2004 on Saipan Island. Everyone took this meeting seriously. During the experience sharing, practitioners talked about each other's understanding in cultivation from different daily life and working environments. This conference went well, having been conducted in a peaceful atmosphere. After three and a half hours of sharing, the conference concluded with success.

    Falun Gong practitioners participated in the annual Christmas Parade in Mississauga, Canada on November 28th, 2004. The Falun Gong entry won such high praise last time that the Parade Committee invited them to come back again this year.
