United States: Falun Gong Practitioners Attend the Christmas Parade in Salem, Oregon
2006-12-21On December 9th, 2006, a Christmas parade was held in Salem, the capital of Oregon. The Falun Gong practitioners, dressed in traditional costumes, were very attractive. Before the parade started, many people took photos of the practitioners' lotus float. One American girl, who grew up in China, read the banner on the float--"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and had her photo taken beside it. -
Singapore: Falun Gong Practitioners Resist an Attempted Secret Trial
2006-12-20Following the pre-trial hearing held on December 8th, 2006, the Singapore Subordinate Court once again held a pre-trial hearing on December 15th, 2006, to arrange the agenda for trials on the falsely charged cases against Falun Gong practitioners. The judge, Ms. May Mesenas, overturned the decisions made at a previous pre-trial hearing, and arranged the trial for the October 23rd case to be tried on January 22nd next year, which is ahead of schedule. The practitioners involved had no objection. The judge insisted that the trial would be held at the smallest courtroom, No. 35 courtroom, for the case involving six practitioners. Her decision was collectively resisted by the accused Falun Gong practitioners. -
Malaysia: Human Rights Day Parade
2006-12-20On December 10th, 2006, the Association of Attorneys in Malaysia held a Human Rights Day Parade, and many media organisations reported on the activity. The Falun Gong group was invited to attend the parade and was the largest participant. -
United States: Pacific Beach Welcomes Falun Dafa
2006-12-19Some spectators imitated the exercise postures, some gave us the thumbs-up sign in support, and there were also several children who made the heshi gesture (a sign of respect with the hands pressed together in front of chest) to greet the practitioners. Several Chinese spectators were surprised by the Falun Gong presence. -

2006-12-17On December 10th, 2006, World Human Rights Day, Amnesty International and nine other organisations held a peaceful protest entitled "We Remember" in front of the Chinese Consulate in Toronto. The protest aimed to commemorate the 80 million Chinese killed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and speak out for human rights for 1.3 billion Chinese. Falun Gong practitioners joined the protest. -

Australia: Vice Secretary of Guangdong Communist Party Committee Chen Shaoji Sued in Australia for his Crimes in the Persecution of Falun Gong
2006-12-14Besides these two plaintiffs, many Australian residents and their family members in Guangdong Province were persecuted. The husband of Australian citizen Zhizhen Dai was tortured to death in 2001. Australian citizen Cuiying Zhang was illegally imprisoned for eight months in 2000. Yiwen Tang, sister of Australian citizen Lisa Tang, was tortured for two years in labour camps and her legs were broken. -
CIPFG Asia Delegation Formed on International Human Rights Day
2006-12-14On December 10th, 2006, International Human Rights Day, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) Asia Delegation was formed. It is another regional delegation of CIPFG after the establishment of the Australian Delegation. There are ninety members in CIPFG Asia, including local council leaders, administrative leaders, non-governmental leaders, figures from human rights circles, law, medicine, professionals and media.
