Falun Gong Practitioner Continues to Suffer Nine Months after Hunan Police Forcibly Drew Blood and Injected Her with Unknown Drug
2014-07-08Officers from the Chengdong Police Station took blood samples nine months ago from Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Peng Jinxiang from Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Then they injected her with an unknown drug which caused abdominal pain, breathing problems, insomnia and oedema. Ms. Peng continues to suffer these symptoms and her condition is deteriorating. -
Physician Held in Solitary Confinement in Duyun Prison Dungeon for Over a Year and a Half
2014-07-08Dr. Chen Mingsai has been held in solitary confinement in a dungeon in Duyun Prison for more than a year and a half. There is much concern regarding his current condition. Persecuted repeatedly for his belief in Falun Gong, Dr. Chen was arrested most recently on April 12th, 2012. He was sentenced to prison for three and a half years. Duyun Prison is notorious for its brutality. Practitioners endure tortures such as the death bed, savage beatings, electric baton shocking, being doused with boiling water, cigarette burns, sleep deprivation for months at a time, forced-feeding, intense forced labour for long hours, and having unknown drugs mixed in their food, to name a few. -
Ms. Wang E Brutally Tortured and Her Whereabouts Unknown
2014-07-07Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang E was shopping at the market on the morning of June 4th, 2014 when she was arrested by police. She had bought items with money that had Falun Gong information written on it. Ms. Wang was brutally tortured in an attempt to extort a confession from her. -
Ms. Bao Yan Severely Injured while Trying to Escape Arrest
2014-07-07To escape arrest, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bao Yan from Shenyang City jumped out of the fourth floor window of her residence and was injured severely. Police arrested her son Mr. Zhang Lei and ransacked their home. Ms. Bao needed money for medical treatment, however, the 10,000 yuan she had left at home was stolen by the police. -
Older Woman Dies after Unjust Incarceration
2014-07-07Ms. Yang Xiangzhen was handing out information about Falun Gong when she was arrested in April 2012. She was first detained at the Tanghe County Detention Centre and was then transferred to the Nanyang City Detention Centre on July 21st, 2012. She was sentenced to four years in prison. Less than one year after being sent to Xinxiang Women's Prison, Ms. Yang developed symptoms of cancer and went into surgery. Prison officials sent her home afterward to avoid being held responsible for her condition. Ms. Yang passed away early this year at the age of 69. -
The Plight of a Practitioner's Teenage Son
2014-07-05Starting from when Gongding was a baby and well into his teens, his life has been a veritable nightmare. In addition to seeing his mother, Shan Fugui, forcibly abducted from his home for practising Falun Gong, he spent many sleepless nights knowing that she was being routinely tortured in a forced labour camp. After Ms. Shan's grief-stricken husband passed away last year in Shandong Province, China, her elderly father and mother were unable to take care of Gongding, which made him very sad. -
Mr. Wang Yushi Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison Without Trial
2014-07-05Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Yushi, 26, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term on May 23rd, 2014. He has appealed to the Tianjin Intermediate Court. His family hired a lawyer to plead not-guilty for him. Mr. Wang was arrested at work by police on July 16th, 2013. He was beaten after being taken to the Nankai Police Station. About seven officers ransacked his home and confiscated many Falun Gong materials exposing the persecution and personal belongings. -
First Half 2014: 413 Falun Gong Practitioners Put on Trial
2014-07-05During first half 2014, 413 Falun Gong practitioners in China were unjustly tried in courtrooms across the country. The communist law enforcement, including the police departments, Procuratorates, and courts, used a variety of means to interfere with the lawsuit processes. They threatened the family members of practitioners, suppressed their lawyers, and held trials without notifying the lawyers. -
Twenty-one Falun Gong Practitioners in Dalian, China, Sentenced to Prison in the First Half of 2014
2014-06-27Twenty-one Falun Gong practitioners from Dalian, Liaoning Province, China were sentenced to prison between January and June 2014. The notorious Chinese labour camp system, which was used extensively in the persecution of Falun Gong, was abolished in 2013, but that didn't mean that the persecution was over. Falun Gong practitioners are now being sent to brainwashing centres and sentenced to prison. In handling suits against Falun Gong practitioners, law enforcement officials in Dalian interfere with the legal process, exert pressure on plaintiffs' lawyers, and have sent 21 practitioners to jail in the last six months alone. -
109 Practitioner Deaths in Weifang City, the Highest Among Prefecture-level Cities in China (Part 3 of 3)
2014-06-26Ms. Zheng Fangying, a 54-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Weifang, went to Tiananmen Square to unfurl a banner calling for for justice for Falun Gong on December 2nd, 2001. The policemen who beat her damaged her internal organs. After being on a hunger strike for 18 days and dying, she was released and sent to the railway station. When she arrived home, her family saw that her lower abdomen was bruised, and signs of injury covered her whole body. She died three days later. -

2014-06-25Mr. Liu Shuchun, 38, was taken to Changle Forced Labour Camp on January 3rd, 2001. The guards instigated six inmates to beat him for over an hour and he died. His body turned black and blue all over from the beating. In order to cover up their crime, the authorities ordered that his entire head be bandaged so that people could not see his injured face. -
Personal Account of Persecution Suffered by Falun Gong Practitioner Shen Lixin
2014-06-25Gongzhuling Prison is notorious for its cruelty. There are around 3000 inmates, and death is commonplace. One year, more than 80 inmates died. In January 2001, Mr. Shen Lixin was taken to the police station in Jilin City, where he was tied to a chair with his hands cuffed behind his back and with one arm over his shoulder to cause more pain. The police used a towel to immobilise his head and started to force-feed him through his nostrils with a bottle filled with chilli and hot mustard. When he could not hold his breath, the spicy mixture went into his lungs. “I felt like my lungs had exploded, and the pain went straight to my head, as well," he said. -
73-Year-old Paralysed after Fall in Detention Centre, Chongqing Police Continue to Persecute Her
2014-06-25Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiao Shaogui, 73, was one of three practitioners from the Yongchuan District who were arrested and detained in May. Two weeks after she was sent to the local detention centre, she had a bad fall and was paralysed. Ms. Xiao was sent to the Yongchuan District Detention Centre with another practitioner, Ms. Li Yuansu, after they were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on May 17th, 2014. -
Police in Hebei Province Confiscate 100,000 Yuan from Ms. Lu Guifen and Send Her to Trial
2014-06-24After the police arrested and confiscated over 100,000 yuan from Ms. Lu Guifen on February 25th, 2014, they arranged for her to go on trial, which was set to take place this month. Her children were harassed and not allowed to visit her. Her attorney was also harassed while trying to access legal documents related to his client. -
109 Practitioner Deaths in Weifang City, the Highest Among Prefecture-level Cities in China (Part 1 of 3)
2014-06-24The deaths of 3,768 Falun Gong practitioners who died as a direct result of persecution have been confirmed as of June 11th, 2014. Heilongjiang, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, and Shandong are the nation's provinces with the greatest number of deaths. In Weifang City alone, a prefecture-level city in central Shandong Province, 109 practitioners were persecuted to death. This represents about one third of the total number of deaths in Shandong and is the nation's highest among prefecture-level cities.
