Mr. Gai Wufan Persecuted by the 610 Office after Hiring Lawyers to Defend Wang Bo's Family

On June 21st, 2007, police from the Yudong Police Station accused 87-year-old Gai Wufan, Wang Bo's uncle, of distributing Falun Gong flyers. They claimed that someone had reported him to the authorities. The police failed to find any evidence after ransacking the entire house, but they dragged Wang Bo's uncle to the Yudong Police Station for interrogation. Using the excuse that someone had reported him to the authorities, they tried to extract other information from him during the interrogation, asking, "Who had hired a lawyer for Wang Bo? Why were there so many Falun Gong practitioners present during her trial? Who is contacting her on a regular basis?" Mr. Gai replied to them, "Is it against the law to hire a lawyer?" -
A Highly Respected Teacher Is Now Paralysed and Partially Blind Due to Persecution by Police in Hubei Province
2007-07-19Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Qing is a high school physics teacher from the Jingshan County No. 1 High School in Hubei Province. Because of his belief in Falun Gong, the police have repeatedly detained him. In July 2004, Mr. Zhou was arrested and detained at the Xiaogan Detention Centre. After enduring brutal torture, his legs became paralysed, his muscles atrophied, and he could not speak. Even in such a horrible condition, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents still forced him into a brainwashing centre. He was injected with unknown drugs that almost killed him. Eventually, he was handed over to his family. Before he completely recovered, the police arrested him again on June 22nd, 2005. The Xiaogan City Court sentenced Zhou Qing to four years in jail and he is still serving his sentence today. -
Children Freed From Brick Kiln in Shanxi Province, But Falun Gong Practitioners Still Forced into Slave Labour at Hedong Brickyard in Ninxia Province
2007-07-18The recent exposure of the illegal brick kiln in Hongtong County, Shanxi Province, in which over a thousand school-aged children were forced to work as slaves, has shocked the media, China and the whole world. Traders in human beings provided the slave labourers to the illegal brick kiln, while the Falun Gong practitioners at the Hedong Brickyard were arrested by the CCP regime. The slave labourers at the Hongtong brick kiln were forced to work for more than ten hours per day. After the Falun Gong practitioners at the Hedong Brickyard finished work they were tortured with electric batons, forced to stand with their heads against the wall, tied up with ropes, and beaten. They were pressured to write a guarantee statement and give up their beliefs. -
Ms. Zhu Shuyun's Life in Danger from Abuse Suffered at the Heizuizi Labour Camp in Jilin Province
2007-07-18On June 9th, 2007, practitioner Ms. Zhu Shuyun was sent to the second unit of the Heizuizi Women's Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. She has been abused by the police many times since she was imprisoned there. Ms. Zhu protested the persecution with hunger strikes and was force-fed, which resulted in a lung infection, making her unable to eat. She is in critical condition. The force-feeding of the Falun Dafa practitioners at the labor camp is extremely barbaric, and has directly caused many practitioners' deaths. -
Shi Ning and Five Other Practitioners from Shengli Oilfield Suffer Persecution in Prison
2007-07-18In early 1999, nearly 10,000 people at the Shengli Oilfield practised Falun Gong. Practising the exercises and studying the Falun Dafa books enabled the practitioners to understand the real meaning of life, to be good people, to conscientiously carry out their jobs, and help others whenever they could. Starting from July 20th, 1999, Jiang Zemin and other top Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, fabricated rumours and lies to falsely charge and discriminate against Falun Gong and practitioners. Shengli Oilfield authorities have severely persecuted practitioners there. As a result, thousands of homes were ransacked and personal belongings confiscated. Thousands were detained, and nearly a hundred were sentenced to three years of forced labour. Several dozens were fired from their jobs. So far, six practitioners are still being persecuted in prison. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Cruelly Tortured at the Shandong Province Prison
2007-07-18The Shandong Province Prison authorities are still carrying out the policy of Jiang Zemin's [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime to "physically extinguish" Falun Gong practitioners. It has become an evil den where practitioners are brutally tortured. The authorities confined practitioner Yin Xiangyang to a solitary confinement cell (with extremely bad conditions) for over 40 days, due to his refusal to be brainwashed and because he persisted in his belief. They also stabbed his entire body with needles, forced his legs apart, and forced him to kneel. The Shandong Province prison system has been infamous for adding drugs to practitioners' food, which led to Yang Shuming and others developing critical medical problems, from which they still have not recovered. -
Police Arrest and Kill Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Minli from Jilin City, Jilin Province

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Minli was arrested on March 15th, 2007 by the Changyi District Police Department and National Security agents savagely beat and tortured her. They poured a bottle of spicy mustard oil into her eyes, causing blindness in one eye. They also broke one of her legs by beating her with wooden sticks and she became disabled. Later they sent her to Jilin City Detention Centre. Wang Minli passed away on the way to the hospital on June 19th, 2007. She was 43 years old. -
Ms. Tang Xingyun, 65, Tortured to Death by 10 Policemen in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province
2007-07-17At eight o'clock in the evening, March 10th, 2007, policemen from Shashan Police Station abducted Tang Xingyun, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Someone had tipped the police that Tang had been seen distributing leaflets exposing the persecution in the area. She had only handed out two copies. Ten thuggish policemen shocked her with eight electric batons, and the 65-year-old lady died in the police station before she could utter a word. -
Police Arrest and Torture Practitioner Mr. Wang Quanlian From Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province
2007-07-17At 2:00 a.m. on April 12th, 2007, Shifeng District Police Department National Security Team agents arrested Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wang Quanlian. To avoid persecution, Mr. Wang tried to climb down along the anti-theft net from the seventh floor of his building, but fell. He was not hurt, but the loud noise he made when he fell aroused many neighbours and the police arrested him. Wang Quanlian was locked up in Shifeng Police Department interrogation room for three days and was subjected to inhuman torture . A police officer pushed Mr. Wang's chest firmly with his foot and forced him against the wall. The other two officers stepped on his feet and then moved his feet towards the wall on both sides. Each move hurt Wang Quanlian so much that he couldn't help but shout in agony. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Wei Quan from Tianjin City Was Secretly Sentenced and Imprisoned
2007-07-17Mr. Wei Quan was sentenced to three and a half years and has been imprisoned in Liyuantou First Prison in Tianjin City, for over six months. His wife,Qin Guifang, went to every place she could think of, looking for him, but the authorities just ignored her. On May 16th, 2007, the First Prison sent a letter to her, verifying her identity as a family member. After replying,she waited for further information about her husband, but to no avail. On June 18th, Mr. Wei's wife went to the First Prison to ask to see him, but her request was denied. In the prison, four prisoners monitored him and were directed to "reform" him by force. Liu, the No. 8 Division head, said, "We're now 'reforming' Wei Quan." He also told Ms. Qin, "Next time you come, you will have to participate in 'reforming' him; otherwise we will cancel your visit." -
Jiamusi City Police in Heilongjiang Province Torture Ms. Cui Shengyun to the Brink of Death
2007-07-16Instigated by Jiamusi City Political and Legal Committee (Heilongjiang Province), Jiamusi City National Security officers arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cui Shengyun on May 19th, 2007 and brutally tortured her. Her head was severely beaten. No visible cuts or bruises were apparent on her body because she was forced to wear a thick black plastic helmet each time she was beaten. Ms. Cui could hear the voices of both men and women while she was being beaten. The women were particularly cruel. -
Why Does the "610 Office" Fear 76-Year-Old Ms. Zhang Ping?
2007-07-16Ms. Zhang Ping, 76, suddenly went missing on June 1st, 2007. Her family members and friends tried various ways to enquire of her whereabouts. They eventually discovered that agents from the Rizhao City 610 Office had arrested and locked her up at a detention centre. This is the eighth arrest for Ms. Zhang. Mr. Jiang Hongfu is Persecuted in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province
2007-07-16In May 2002, Meng Qingqi, the head of the Department of Political Security in Mishan Police Station, arrested 52-year-old Mr. Jiang and detained him in the detention centre because he practised Falun Gong. Because Mr. Jiang was considered by his co-workers and neighbours to be a good person, they went to talk to the relevant departments and tried to have him released. Meng Qingqi has been extorting practitioners throughout the eight-year persecution and did not want to treat Mr. Jiang differently. On August 29th, Mr. Jiang was sent to Jixi Forced Labour Camp for one year, where he was tortured by wardens. They tied the practitioners with ropes and beat them with electronic batons. Mr. Jiang's toenails fell off from the beatings, and he lost feeling in his legs and became crippled. -
Lawless Personnel from the National Security Division and "610 Office" in Luohe, Henan Province Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners
2007-07-16On May 23rd, Ms. Yan Xueli came home from buying food. A few 610 Office personnel who were waiting in ambush for her took her by surprise and followed her into the house. After barging in, they locked the doors and without producing a search permit, they ransacked the residence of Ms. Yan. The lawless agents disregarded the cries of Ms. Yan's ten-year-old child and ignored Ms. Yan's efforts to explain the facts about Falun Dafa to them. They forcefully dragged Ms. Yan to their car. Ms. Yan Xueli was divorced and was bringing up a ten-year-old child on her own. The two of them made ends meet with the vegetables that Ms. Yan sells. Xueli said, "Now that you are arresting me, what will my child live on, and who will take care of him?" -
Chen Yiming from the 610 Office in Changsha County, Hunan Province Deceives and Persecutes Practitioners and Their Families
2007-07-15Since he took on his position in 2002, Chen Yiming, Director of the 610 Office in Changsha County, Hunan Province has closely followed the Jiang Zemin's regime policy to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners and has done many shameless things. On June 14th, 2006, Chen Yiming suspected that Mr. Li Xuangang was explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to people and arrested him. Chen threatened his family by saying, "Li must be "transformed" and give up Dafa, otherwise he will be sentenced from five to seven years in prison. That is what the 610 Office will do to him." He ordered Mr. Li's family members to cooperate with him and report other practitioners to him. But Chen sent Mr. Li to the Xinkaipu Forced Labour Camp in Chashang shortly afterwards.
