  • Wang Xiaohong and Yang Zhengming from Cangxi County, Sichuan Province Secretly Tried

    On January 8th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners Wang Xiaohong and Yang Zhengming went to Cangxi County to inform people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispel the state propaganda attacking the practice. They were arrested by the police who had been tracking them and were sent to the police station. On May 22nd, the Cangxi County Court held a secret trial. The Court sentenced Wang Xiaohong to three and a half years in prison and Yang Zhengming to five and a half years. Wang and Yang were threatened, deceived, harassed, and handcuffed. The police also kicked and beat the two practitioners with electric batons. Yang's whole body was purple, and blood showed up in his urine. The police also detained them in a cell and then searched their houses. They confiscated expensive equipment. The police also forbid them from seeing their families for five months.
  • Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners from the Dashiba Region of Jiangbei District, Chongqing City

    Mr. Yuan Qingsheng went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 1999. Since then he was detained many times and sentenced to two years of forced labour. He was locked in solitary confinement and a water dungeon with dead snakes and poisonous bugs at Xishanping Forced Labour Camp. He was beaten frequently and a poisonous sting caused a growth at the back his ear. It grew back after it was cut off. The forced labour camp released him on medical leave in 2002, because the officials were afraid he would die at the camp. He was monitored frequently at home by the residential committee. Mr. Yuan lost his income and his wife was laid off (later changed to retirement) due to the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) implication policy.
  • Practitioner Ms. Mu Chunhong from Huadian City, Jilin Province Suffers Loss of Memory After Four Months of Mistreatment

    On February 12th, 2007, police arrested Ms. Mu Chunhong, a Falun Dafa practitioner. Ms. Mu was sent to Jilin City Detention Centre, here she was tortured. She went on hunger strikes to protest the persecution. The police brutally force-fed her with cornstarch broth, telling others that it was pork bone stock and milk. They also force-fed her a concentrated salt solution. Ms. Mu held hunger strikes three different times, with each time lasting over a month. Once during the first six days of her hunger strike, the tube used for the force-feeding was left in continuously. She had difficulty breathing and it was very painful. The police also force-fed Ms. Mu with unknown drugs, which caused her to have headaches in the afternoon, and her consciousness and memory became unclear.
  • A Dark Den of Persecution--The Lanzhou Women's Prison in Gansu Province

    Since 2002, Falun Gong practitioners have suffered relentless persecution at the Lanzhou Women's Prison. The tortures include: slave labour, confinement, hanging, sitting on small stools, shocks with electric batons, freezing, and other abuses. Falun Gong practitioners are forced to do work from 5 o'clock every morning until midnight; some have to work until 4 o'clock or even 5 o'clock the next morning. Every practitioner is assigned a work quota that they could never finish. They are fined and beaten when they do not finish the assigned work.
  • Ms. Lei Xiying Remains Firm and Refuses to Yield to Persecution in the Hunan Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Lei Xiying was arrested for upholding her beliefs. She was detained in the Hunan Women's Forced Labour Camp and suffered from torture and persecution. However, she remained firm. Ms. Lei Xiying did everything she could to resist the persecution and inform people in the labour camp about the true nature of Falun Gong. One day, she bit her fingers and wrote on the wall with her blood, "Falun Gong is good! Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance is good!" Guards stuffed Ms. Lei's mouth with smelly socks, tightly tied her hands and feet to a metal frame and left her suspended in the air, without any food or drink for three days and nights. Her back was severely injured during this torture. When the guards released her from the frame they put steel shackles and handcuffs on her weighing 33 pounds and forced her to walk with them. Ms. Lei's feet were rubbed raw and bled.

    Since the Chinese Communist regime's head Jiang Zemin started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, my family has lived in misery. Every day has felt like a year to us and we haven't been able to reunite. However, what we have suffered is only one example of the suffering endured by millions of families in China. It is only the tip of the iceberg of the crimes that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has committed against Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Zhang Wenliang Sentenced to Forced Labour by Qingdao City Police in Shandong Province

    Mr. Zhang Wenliang was arrested on May 10th, 2007, at his sister's home while he was installing a satellite TV antenna. He was detained in the Qingdao City Second Detention Centre and has been sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour in the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Zibo City. After July 20th, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, Zhang Wenliang appealed to all levels of government authorities on behalf of Falun Gong and to help rescue fellow practitioners in prison. He was arrested in 2000. After he was released on bail and awaiting trial, he and his wife, Zhao Hui, left home to avoid further persecution. During their days of homelessness, Zhang Wenliang was arrested and sent to a detention centre on five occasions.
  • Nearly Twenty Practitioners Arrested by Agents from the Macheng City 610 Office (Hubei Province)

    From the evening of June 22nd, 2007, to the early morning of June 23rd, 2007, nearly 100 people from the state security office and police stations headed by the Macheng City 610 Office in Hubei Province, broke into practitioners' houses all over the city. The police ransacked homes, confiscating property and arresting practitioners after climbing over walls and breaking down doors. According to police reports, 19 practitioners were arrested. Additionally, three practitioners refused to cooperate and avoided arrest. Mr. Bai Zijian's wife did not cooperate with the police and was beaten unconscious several times. The beatings only stopped after the neighbours had been awakened and came over to condemn the police.
  • Hundreds of Wuhan Police Arrest Five Dafa Practitioners at Midnight

    Around 1:00 a.m. on June 24th, 2007, the Wuhan Police Department and the Xinzhou Branch of Hubei Province dispatched hundreds of policemen and arrested at least five Falun Gong practitioners. Dafa practitioner Liu Cuilian was on the verge of death after she was violently arrested. The police saw that she was on the verge of death and left her in a hospital. In order to make up the number of arrested practitioners, they instead took away a girl with the surname of Li who was spending the night at Ms. Liu's home. The police also confiscated expensive eqipment and Dafa books from practitioners' homes.
  • Seven-Year-Old Xiao Yu Spends Another Mother's Day without His Mother

    "Give back my mother!" This is the cry of seven-year-old Xiao Yu who is a first grade elementary student living in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. He spent another Mother's Day without his mother this year. In December, 2000, when Xiao Yu was only 7 months old, Ms. Liang was detained because she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Zheng Wu attempted to force her to give up her belief by prohibiting her from seeing and nursing her infant son. Since Ms. Liang refused to give up Falun Gong, her employer went so far as to send her to a Mental Health Institution in Tangshan City. She was detained there for four and a half years and subjected to inhumane treatment. Sane, healthy people are locked up in mental hospitals where they are injected with drugs over a long period of time which destroy the central nervous system.
  • Mr. Jiao Meishan Detained at the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Centre (Hebei Province) Well Beyond the Legal Limit

    Mr. Jiao Meishan, 55, is being detained at the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Centre. He was arrested on March 3rd, 2006 and charged in September 2006. Xinhua District Court began a trial on November 30th, 2006, but then the trial was closed. Therefore, it has thus far lasted for six months. Eight months have passed since the court accepted and heard the case. It has been one year and three months since Mr. Jiao's arrest, and his detention term has gone well beyond the limits of the law.
  • Falun Dafa Practitioner Jiang Bai Dies after Persecution in Daqing Detention Centre in Heilongjiang Province

    Ms. Jiang Bai, age 30, was a staff member of the Daqing Main Petroleum Industry. She was forced from her job in October 2000 because she firmly held to her practice of Falun Gong. Ms. Jiang had been homeless, was arrested and persecuted many times. On April 26th, 2007, she was arrested at her work place by the Daqing Public Security Bureau, Wolitun Subdivision, and held in the Daqing Detention Centre. She began a hunger strike against the persecution and was force-fed against her will. During the brutal force-feeding, Ms. Jiang vomited, coughed blood and passed out. Jiang Bai passed away on June 28th, 2007.
  • Mr. Kong Xiangzhu from Heilongjiang Province Tortured to Death

    On the evening of May 1st, 2002, police officers deceived Mr. Kong Xiangzhu into going to a construction site and arrested him. They claimed he had been involved in tapping into cable TV to broadcast the truth about the persecution. When his family heard he was being resuscitated in a hospital, they rushed to the hospital, but he was already in an operating room. His whole body was covered with bruises, and his back had been burned due to electric baton shocks. The flesh around his neck had separated from his bones. In June 2006, Mr. Kong was diagnosed with severe tuberculosis. Mr. Kong Xiangzhu died on June 23rd, 2007.
  • Left Paralysed by Torture, Practitioner Ms. Dou Suli from Shandong Province Dies an Untimely Death

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dou Suli from Juancheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province was arrested. Participating in the arrest were officers from Juancheng County Police Department and the 610 Office. By the time of her release on October 7th, 2006, she had lost all feeling and was disabled, despite medical treatments. She could not speak and lost the ability to take care of herself because of paralysis in the right side of her body. She passed away on May 25th, 2007.
  • Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Persecution of Gong Huadong from Shandong Province and Her Family

    Ms. Gong Huadong was sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp. On June 26th, 2001, she was taken to the First Women's Prison of Shandong Province. The policemen from Mengyin County who escorted her to prison pocketed the 500 yuan she was carrying. At the prison, Ms. Gong suffered both mental and physical tortures. In February 2005, she was arrested again. When Ms. Gong was imprisoned, her husband Mr. Yang Mintong was traumatised. He drank a lot due to depression. Before long, he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and passed away three months after the diagnosis. His death is not unrelated to the persecution.
