  • Mr. Li Baofeng from Beijing Given a Four-Year Prison Term

    On April 22nd, 2008, a group of police and officials broke into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Baofeng's home, ransacked it and seized his money and personal property. They took Mr. Li as well as his wife and daughter to the Chaoyangmen Police Station and interrogated them. Mr. Li's wife and daughter were released at midnight that same day. After being detained for one year, he was covertly sentenced to four years of imprisonment. He is currently in a prison in Tianjin.
  • Ms. Yan Pingjun Dies under Suspicious Circumstances in Hebei Province Brainwashing Facility

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yan Pingjun operated a booth where she mended clothing. Her fellow practitioner, Xia Junying, is a well known tailor, and they were good friends. Ms. Xia was arrested on July 15th, 2010. Ms. Yan went to visit Ms. Xia's family on August 1st, and the police followed her back to her home. On August 2nd, police arrested Ms. Yan at home, ransacked her place, took her son's computer, and all her Falun Gong books. Ms. Yan was locked in the Hebei Province Legal Education Training Centre. The guards said she died around August 10th, due to a fall from the third floor. Ms. Yan was very healthy at the time of her arrest, but died only ten days after being detained. The brainwashing facility must be held responsible for her death, the details of which have yet to be investigated.
  • The Persecution of Mr. Li Weiguo and His Family in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Weiguo and his wife, Ms. Zhao Fengyun were brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for persisting in practising Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao Fengyun died in a forced labour camp in 2004. Mr. Li Weiguo was arrested again in July. Mr. Li was imprisoned in the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp several times during the eleven years of persecution, and endured many inhumane tortures. He was forced to perform over 16 hours of labour daily, then beaten and verbally abused when he could not complete the work. The living conditions were terrible.
  • Jiangxi Province Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Ao Yiwen Arrested

    On August 10th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ao Yiwen was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Pingxiang City. She was arrested by police and has been detained at the Shangli District Detention Centre. The day after her arrest, on August 11th, a dozen or so policemen and other officials, ransacked her home, confiscating DVDs exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and some personal belongings. They told Ms. Ao's family, "She will be sentenced to twenty years in prison." Ms. Ao has been on a hunger strike at the detention centre, and her life is in danger. Prison guards sent her to the hospital for intravenous fluids.
  • Police Vow Never to Release Ms. Zhen Ziuqin

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zheng Xiuqin, 47, had become homeless in order to avoid ongoing police harassment and arrest. When the police found Ms. Zheng and arrested her, they vowed to never release her. Ms. Zheng's daughter and brother were worried about her, so they insisted on coming along to the police station. Now their whereabouts are unknown.
  • Mr. Ji Songhai Has Been Imprisoned and Tortured in Mudanjiang City Prison for Seven Years

    Falun Gong practitioner Ji Songhai has suffered nearly seven years of persecution in the Mudanjiang Prison. He has been tortured repeatedly and is in critical condition. In April 2010, Huang Wei, captain of the ninth prison section, forced the debilitated Ji Songhai to do hard labour. When Ji refused to comply, Huang Wei shocked him with an electric baton until he lost consciousness. His family has not heard from him for a long time.
  • The Persecution of Mr. Long Tingfan from Jingmen City, Hubei Province, Continues

    Mr. Long Tingfan was arrested days ago, and was taken to the Electric Power Hotel in the city. He was later able to escape. Detailed information is under investigation. Mr. Long's entire family practises Falun Gong. In July 1999, he and his wife were each subjected to three years of forced labour for appealing for justice for Falun Gong. Their underage child was in high school and was left alone with no one to take care of him.
  • Four Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced by Shouguang City Court in Shandong Province

    During the period from late December 2009, to the end of January 2010, police officers from Sunji Township, Shouguang City, Shandong Province arrested several local Falun Gong practitioners. They were physically tortured and had money extorted from them. Four of the practitioners, including were recently sentenced to prison or forced labour camp. Ms. Zhang Faxiang was arrested on the charge that she had been producing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong several years ago. Shouguang Court sentenced her to four years in prison.
  • An Elderly Mother's Appeal: "Give Me Back My Daughter"

    On June 22nd, 2010, Ms. Sun Libin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Jiamusi City, accompanied a teenager to see his mother, a fellow practitioner who is incarcerated in the Jiadong Police Station. Ms. Sun was arrested by the Jiadong Police. It has been over fifty days, and her mother has yet to find out her whereabouts. Sun Libin's nearly 80-year-old mother has made an appeal to the Jiamusi Procuratorate and related government officials.
  • Prosecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Circumvents Established Laws

    On July 22nd, 2010, the Liaoning Province Donggang Court, local police and staff from the Procuratorate put Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zou Jiling on trial. Li Changming and Zhang Chuanli, attorneys from Beijing, defended the accused practitioner. They addressed the indictments one by one, based on legal principles. They remonstrated that practising Falun Gong and possessing Falun Gong materials is legitimate under Chinese law, the Chinese Constitution and established regulations. The hearing showed clearly how the Communist Party circumvents Chinese laws.
  • Ms. Man Shujie From Jilin Province Recounts Her Experience of Persecution

    On September 17th, 2005, as I was picking up some Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution I was followed by policemen. They arrested me and took me to the State Security Unit. The police then went to my home and confiscated my Falun Gong books. I was sent to the Heizuizi Women's Labour Camp in Changchun. I had to work 15 hours a day. My work included making food boxes for use on airplanes, cotton slippers, peeling garlic, and making paper butterflies. The glue we used to make paper butterflies had a very strong odour, and we kept coughing from it.
  • Subjected to Forced Labour Twice, Ms. Gao Mingxia from Qingdao City Arrested Again

    Ms. Gao Mingxia from Qingdao City was arrested on July 11th, 2010 by police. She is now in the Qingdao City No. 3 Detention Centre, and her family is forbidden to visit her. Ms. Gao has been detained three times for not giving up Falun Gong. She has twice been subjected to forced labour terms. Over the past more than five years, Ms. Gao has endured all kinds of physical torture and mental torment and has suffered greatly.
  • Ms. Wang Lihui and Her Family Members Harassed, Arrested and Fined by Authorities

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Lihui has been severely persecuted over the past few years. Her phone is regularly monitored by the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Public Security Bureau, and officers often come to her home to harass her family. Several times Ms. Wang's husband was harassed at work. Unable to stand it any longer, the family has been living separately for ten years.
  • Ms. Yang Fengju is Being Persecuted in the Hebei Province Female Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Fengju is being held in the Hebei Province Female Labour Camp and is suffering brutal persecution. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began it's persecution of Falun Gong, Yang Fengju went to Beijing to appeal and police officers beat her and fractured her arm. Under the pressure, her family forced her to write a document to sever all relationship with her relatives. In order not to be harassed by police, her family took her to the No. 6 Psychiatric Hospital. The physician did not do any exams or inquire about any history. They instead tricked her into being admitted to the hospital, injected her with an unknown drug, as well as force-fed her.
  • Ms. Yao Aihua, Ms. Jiang Yumin and Ms. Zheng Qiying Sent to Brainwashing Facility, Then to Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Yao Aihua and Ms. Jiang Yumin from Jining City were given two years of imprisonment on August 2nd, 2010, and then were transferred to and persecuted in the Shandong Province Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Zheng Qiying was arrested on July 27th; her current whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Yao Aihua is in her 50s. She was arrested on July 20th, 2010 by police. At that time, she was taking care of her five-month old granddaughter at her daughter's home. Over ten policemen in plain clothes broke in and forcibly arrested Ms. Yao in front of her daughter and granddaughter.
