  • Ten Deaths from Torture Confirmed in February 2008

    Yi Fuquan suffered many prison terms, detainments and tortures after the start of the persecution of Falun Gong and was sentenced to one year of forced labour because he went to Beijing to appeal. On August 19th, 2001, he was arrested at the bus station because police found Falun Gong books and flyers in his possession. He was sentenced to six years in prison. Guards saw that he would not renounce Falun Gong, so they had prisoners put 35 pound ankle shackles on him and forced him to stand out under the burning sun and beat him brutally. It was not until Mr. Yi was in critical condition that the prison agreed to release him on August 8th, 2007. He suffered in pain for another six months, dying on February 13th, 2008, at the age of 45.
  • Beijing Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Bai Shaohua Hospitalised for Emergency Treatment

    On February 20th, 2008, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Bai Shaohua and Mr. Yang Hui were driving from the urban district of Beijing to Huairou District and were stopped by police for inspection. They were subsequently arrested. On March 4th, 2008, according to someone with inside information, Mr. Bai Shaohua, who was imprisoned at the Huairou District Detention Centre in Beijing, was escorted to a hospital emergency. He has also been imprisoned and brutalised numerous times, including being electrically shocked.
  • Mr. Huang Liqiao Brutally Tortured in Several Forced Labour Camps in Tianjin

    Mr. Huang firmly believes in Falun Gong and refused to be "transformed". [brainwashed] Unfortunately he became a prime target for persecution at the Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp. The guards tried to force him to learn the prison regulations by heart and take a test, but he refused. Guards brutally beat him. When they were exhausted, they used an electric baton to shock him on his head and chest. His body twitched from the high voltage shocks and he slammed onto the concrete floor. Numerous burn marks appeared on his head and chest. The guards forced him to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong, and instigated other inmates to beat him.
  • The Persecution of Practitioner Ma Guobiao and His Family in Shanghai

    In December 2002, when Ma Guobiao was at work, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents came to arrest him and detained him in Changning District Detention Centre. Later on, they sentenced him to two years of forced labour. In the labour camp, practitioners were imprisoned in a specific group and tortured. Ma Guobiao was shocked with electric batons on his private parts, and tortured with the "Shanghai Style Tiger Bench" (the practitioner is pushed against a wall and several people stretch his legs apart to 180 degrees, while several others beat him and hit him). He was also deprived of sleep.
  • The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province

    On October 12th, 2007, 42-year-old Ms. Gao Chunlian was arrested once again and is still being detained. Her life is already at risk since she became mentally disordered from torture. In April 2001, police arrested Ms. Gao. They held her in the Shijingshan Detention Centre in Beijing for 25 days. She was forced to sit on a stool the whole day. If her posture was not straight, the guards would beat her. Later on, she was transferred to Zhuozhou Detention Centre. Ms. Gao started a protest hunger strike. Chief Wang ordered prison doctor Zhang Yugang to force-feed Ms. Gao. Zhang Yugang inserted a thick rubber tube into Ms. Gao's nose and down to her stomach. When the tube was removed, large amounts of blood followed. The detained criminals who were watching were so upset by this that they cried. She suffered inhuman beating as well. She is now barely recognisable and is close to death.
  • More Details Concerning the Persecution of Ms. Xu Hui of Sichuan Province

    Ms. Xu Hui, 44, has been persecuted for the last eight years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In February 2000, Ms. Xu and a few other practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Ms. Xu was arrested and later sent to Chongqing City Women's Forced Labour Camp in Maojiashan for a year. In 2001, Ms. Xu finished her forced labour sentence and went home. The manager of the Security Department of Songzao Mine, Gong Xe, told her to write a letter pledging to not practise Falun Gong, and threatened that if she did not comply, they would either fire her husband from his job or tell him to divorce her.
  • The Persecution Suffered by Ms. Wang Xiangling from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia

    In March 2000, police went to Ms. Wang Xiangling's home and told her to sign a guarantee statement that she would not practise Falun Gong. Ms. Wang refused. As a result she was taken to a police station, fined, detained for 15 days, and forced to sign a "statement" that abused and slandered Falun Gong. In December 2000, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for an end to the persecution. She was compelled to become homeless in order to avoid being arrested from home. The authorities issued a warrant for her arrest. They went to her home, her daughter's school, and her relatives to harass them many times. Her daughter suffered both physically and mentally. They also conspired with the secretary from her husband's company to pressure him to turn in his wife. Under such formidable pressure, her husband was compelled to divorce Ms. Wang.
  • 61-Year-Old Ms. Chen Wen'ai Dies as Result of Persecution in Sichuan Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Wen'ai, 61, was arrested multiple times because she kept her faith in Falun Gong, and she was sentenced to six and a half years in prison after she was arrested on May 25th, 2005. Ms. Chen was detained in the Sichuan Province Women's Prison located in Jianyang City. The Prison Administration released her at the end of July 2007 because she was dying from the brutal mistreatment. Ms. Chen never recovered and died on February 24th, 2008.
  • The Persecution Ms. Zong Xiuxia Suffered before She Died

    On the morning of February 22nd, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zong Xiuxia, a resident of Weifang City, Shandong Province, was reported while she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong near the Jialejia Supermarket in Kuiwen District. At around 11:00 a.m., Ms. Zong Xiuxia was taken to Guangwen Police Station and interrogated. That night, her family was notified to come down to the police station to identify and claim her body. It was noted that her time of the death was around 3:00 p.m. Her family was asked to acquiesce to their claim that Ms. Zong committed suicide.
  • Detained Practitioners on Hunger Strike in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province to Protest Persecution; Several Are in Critical Condition

    On February 25th, 2008, twelve practitioners were arrested in Chaoyang City. Among them was Mr. Chen Baofeng, who was tortured to death on the eighth day of his detention. To protest the persecution, the remaining practitioners have been on hunger strike, and many of their lives are now in danger. Ms. Jing Fei and Ms. Li Yingxuan suffer from swelling in all parts of their bodies and are in critical condition.
  • Ms. Hu Aiqin Has Been Sentenced to Eight Years in Xinjiang

    Ms. Hu Aiqin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Hami City in Xinjiang had been held in custody by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for a year. Around the end of 2007, she was sentenced to another eight years. After this sentence, the CCP finally allowed family members to visit her by appointment. When her mother went to visit her, an elderly lady with white hair came out. She thought to herself, "I never knew they locked elderly ladies in here." At a closer glance, she realized that the elderly lady was her daughter. In one year's time, her daughter's black hair had turned white. Ms. Hu's mother became stricken with grief.
  • Ms. Zou Jiqin Dies as a Result of Persecution in Heilongjiang Province

    Ms. Zou Jiqin, 45, was detained by police several times for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. In 2002, she went on a hunger strike to protest the detention, only to be tortured by being force-fed while tied on the floor with her four limbs stretched apart. She almost died from this treatment. Five times she was tortured with the "Big Back Cuff," an excruciating torture. She was also subjected to many other tortures, including being forced to sit on a wire spool (a very rough surface), not allowed to use the toilet, subjected to long-term sleep deprivation, forced to do hard labour, and subjected to freezing temperatures. Ms. Zou was in extremely poor health when she was finally released. On February 29th, 2008, Ms. Zou died at the age of 46.
  • Chen Zihui Tortured at the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City

    In 2002 Mr. Chen was sent to the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp and taken to division five, which is the most notoriously cruel division in the labour camp. The division leader Zhao Shuang is outrageous and vengeful. Under his leadership, guards tortured practitioners in just about every way imaginable. In order to "transform" [brainwash] practitioners, they forced them to squat from 5 am to midnight. Besides that, they also tortured practitioners with the "big hang up", electric shocks, pricking them with darts, allowing mice to bite them, pinching and rubbing their private parts, and push-break. The "push-break" is a where they push someone to the ground. A guard rides on top of the practitioner's body, with feet or knees against the practitioner's lower back, while at the same time pulling the practitioner's arms up and back. Some practitioners' arms were broken from this torture.
  • Kuang Shitai's Story: Still Persecuted After His Wife Dies and Daughter Forced into Homelessness

    In February 2008, while Mr. Kuang Shitai, a Falun Gong practitioner was home alone, several officers from the local police station suddenly came and surrounded his home. They ordered him to turn in his daughter, Ms. Kuang Wenying. Over the past several years, Ms. Kuang Wenying has been detained and sent to forced labour camps. For the past few years, to avoid being arrested and persecuted again, she has led a vagrant life. She did not dare to go home to visit her father at all. His wife, Ms. Guo Sulan, suffered poor health due to persecution. She could not go home either and had to remain homeless. After one year of painful suffering, she passed away in November 2003.
  • Beijing Police Ransack the Jinkui Decorative Painting Company

    The Beijing Public Security Bureau has persecuted over one hundred Falun Gong practitioners since January 2008. They have searched practitioners' homes, persecuted their family members, and ransacked companies and factories run by practitioners. Manager Chen of Jinkui Decorative Painting Company is an extremely sincere and kind person, and he has hired many practitioners. After practitioners were arrested, their family members went to Dongcheng Detention Centre many times requesting to visit, but they were turned away without being given a reason.
