Ms. Liu Shujuan from Hebei Province Died under Persecution

On February 5th, 2006, Ms. Liu Shujuan went to the Xianghe County Police Department with more than thirty fellow practitioners to request the release of detained Falun Dafa practitioners. However, all of them were arrested and detained in the Dachang County Detention Centre. They were brutally beaten and some practitioners' teeth became loose and they still cannot chew. One practitioner was tied against the wall with all four limbs spread apart overnight. The practitioners were not allowed to wear jackets, even though it was freezing and the windows were open. She was forced to write a "guarantee statement" and was sentenced to forced labour. Soon after Ms. Liu Shujuan was released home she died on April 25th, 2007 due to the prolonged period of mistreatment she received. -
Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Practitioners from Puning City, Guangdong Province
2007-07-02Ms. Liu Yanqing is 69 years old. The police constantly threatened and harassed her, and ransacked her home. In January 2000, when she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, she was arrested by the police in Guangzhou and imprisoned for 15 days at Wushi Prison in Puning City. The police also confiscated 4,000 yuan from her. In October 2004 she went to Tuyang Village to explain the true situation of Falun Gong to people. The public security personnel found out and as a result, Ms. Liu was arrested by police. She was then detained at the Puning City Detention Centre. Several months later, the Puning City court secretly sentenced her to three years in prison. She is currently imprisoned in the Huadu Women's Prison in Guangdong Province. -
Practitioner Zhou Shuhai Dies As a Result of Torture and Abuse at Daqing City Prison in Heilongjiang Province - His Remains Have been Cremated
2007-07-01Mr. Zhou Shuhai was reported to police for attending a conference held by practitioners from Tieli City. In April, 2006, he was sentenced to five and one-half years of imprisonment by the Yichun City Intermediate Court. His back was beaten, and he was hung up and forced to stand for a long time. The tortures were used in attempts to "transform" him. In late 2006, Mr. Zhou's family members were informed that he was seriously ill and they could come to visit him, but the prison would not release him. On May 27th, 2007, his sister and brother-in-law went to the prison and again asked for his release. Three days later, on May 31st, 2007, his family members got a call saying, "the person is dead." -
Three Falun Gong Practitioners from Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Shandong Provinces Die as a Result of the Persecution
2007-07-01Mr. Zhang Wanmin was 66 years old. In 1999, after the persecution of Falun Dafa began, the authorities harassed him and levied several "fines" on him, totalling 1,300 yuan. In 2000, officials subjected Mr. Zhang Wanmin to physical punishment, forcing him to squat on the floor for a long time. Mr. Zhang was arrested and taken to the brainwashing centre several times. In 2001, he went to check in with the local authorities. Because he was late they scolded him and ordered him to curse Dafa. Mr. Zhang didn't comply, so Chen Yongdong made him stand for a long time. Following Mr. Zhang's release, he experienced heart problems. Having endured horrendous mental torment and physical abuse, a year later, on October 22nd, 2002, Mr. Zhang Wanmin had a severe heart attack and died. -
Ms. Guo Wenying Sentenced to Prison - Unable to Care for Sick Husband
2007-07-01Officers from the Lintao County Police Department arrested Ms. Guo Wenying, 53, and her husband at about noon on September 27th, 2002 and took them to the police department. Their 18-year-old son decided to leave home and live on the streets to avoid persecution. Her husband was taken to the Lintao County Detention Centre. Ms. Guo was held at the same detention centre, where she was brutally tortured and nearly died. Lintao County Court agents sentenced her to six years in prison in 2003. Her husband fell ill after he returned home and he cannot take care of himself. His wife is imprisoned, so there is no one to take care of him. -
An Elderly Practitioner in Shandong Province Is Persecuted and Denied His Pension for Five Years
2007-07-01I was detained for 70 days, until July 5th, 2001, by the 610 Office. On top of the physical torture, there was also mental torture, which was even more damaging to practitioners. We were forced to watch videos and read books and pamphlets defaming Dafa. They tried to brainwash us with the lies. During my detention, the authorities extorted my family out of 10,000 yuan. Moreover, I was denied my pension of 3,000 yuan. Later I was detained again. Although they did not succeed in sending me to a forced labour camp, they have stopped me receiving my pension fro the last five years. I worked for the Chinese Communist Party for more than 40 years but now it has been cut off becuase I believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, the principles of Falun Dafa. -
Ms. Fu Guiju from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province Died from Force-Feeding in a Detention Centre
2007-06-30On the evening of May 12th, 2007, police arrested 12 Falun Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Fu Guiju. Most of the practitioners are elderly. Ms. Fu Guiju went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was released when she was close to death. on June 14th, the Qiaoxi District Procuratorate issued an "arrest" warrant for several practitioners including Ms. Fu Guiju. Plans were to severely sentence them. On June 18th, 2007, Ms. Fu Guiju died from force-feeding in the Shisanli Detention Centre, in Zhangjiakou City. -
Practitioner Mr. Gong Fengqiang Suffers Continued Abuse after Mental Collapse at Jiamusi Prison in Heilongjiang Province
2007-06-30Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gong Fengqiang was detained for 34 days for appealing for justice for Falun Gong in Beijing in 2000. While in detention, officers from the Yilan County Police Bureau inserted toxic toothpicks under each of his fingernails, beat him using sharp sticks, and shocked him with electric batons so ruthlessly that he vomited and had diarrhoea. His wife Ms. Li Jiezhen was pregnant at the time. Mr. Gong is imprisoned again and has been suffering mental problems due to the persecution. The guards said, "We can do whatever we want to Falun Gong practitioners according to orders from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). As long as he can breathe, we have to keep him here. We will not let him go, even if he dies." -
Severe Recent Abuse of Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Wang Jiang in Daqing Prison, Heilongjiang Province
2007-06-30Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Jiang was recently severely abused in Daqing Prison, Heilongjiang Province. When his family discovered their loved one's whereabouts on June 12th, 2006, they immediately went to the prison, requesting to see him. The prison officials quickly told a lie saying that a criminal had beaten Mr. Wang. They said the criminal had hoodwinked Mr. Wang to a place outside the prison cell and the officials were not aware what weapon was used to beat Mr. Wang. They also said that Mr. Wang did not report this incident until two days later. The prison officials also lied, saying they had punished the criminal for his bad deed. The officials further indicated that Mr. Wang was too honest and had said he was not badly injured. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Xingcai Dies as a Result of Torture in Wumaping Prison in Sichuan Province
2007-06-30The local police in Panzhihua City arrested and tortured practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingcai in March 2004. In September 2006, they arrested him again and sent him to Wumaping Prison for further persecution. On March 30th, 2007, the prison phoned the family saying that Mr. Zhang had contracted septicemia and some kind of infection. His family saw him in Jianwei County Hospital on oxygen until the next day (March 31st), when he lost consciousness. At 7:00 p.m. on March 31st, the doctors came and told the family that Mr. Zhang had died. Just how practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingcai was persecuted to death at the Wumaping Prison has yet to be investigated. -
As the Olympics Approach, The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Committee of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province Issues Document on Persecuting Falun Gong
2007-06-29The 2008 Summer Olympics is approaching. On May 23rd, 2007, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Chaoyang City Committee in Liaoning Province and the Chaoyang City Government issued a joint secret document about the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong. They made 290 copies and issued them to all county and municipal government and governmental agencies. The various governmental entities are required to hold meetings and study sessions to carry out the directives in the document. On June 21st, 2007, two police officers from the Qianjin District Department stormed into Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Yuwen's house. They forcibly took Zhang Yuwen to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chu Guilin, 56, Died as a Result of Persecution at Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2007-06-29Mr. Chu Guilin, a practitioner from Shandong province, died on November 17th, 2006 due to torture at Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. Mr. Chu was injected with unknown drugs and became paralysed. Mr. Chu's family members demanded an explanation from the guards "How can a healthy person become handicapped overnight?" The guards did not accept responsibility. They claimed that the labour camp spent a lot of money on medical treatment for Mr. Chu. -
Horticulturist Meng Lingchuan from Shandong Province Tortured to Insanity; Suspected Killed
2007-06-29Mr. Meng Lingchuan was arrested and sent to Liuchangshan Brainwashing Centre in Jinan. He refused to cooperate or be brainwashed, and was sent to a labour camp for three years and brutally tortured. As a result, Meng became mentally ill. After he was released, he stopped talking to people, which was quite a contrast from his warm personality before. Even when he talked, his mind was not clear. Recently a body was found on Jiwang Highway near Guanzhuang Township. It had been hit by cars so many times that it was only a mixture of flesh and blood. Only a trainer and a foot inside the trainer were intact. Meng's wife suspected that the body may be Meng as the trainer matched the one belonging to him. -
Ms. Li Guiping Severely Tortured at Beijing Women's Prison
2007-06-29Before Chinese New Year's Day in February 2007, Ms. Li Guiping, a Falun Gong practitioner, shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!" during a large assembly for the entire Beijing Women's Prison. Afterwards, she was detained in the "Intensive Training Centre" for more severe persecution. For more than four months, Ms. Li has been denied any legal rights to see, write and call her family. Li Guiping went on a hunger strike to protest the detention and persecution by the Beijing Women's Prison. In turn, the prison recently spread rumours and threatened her family members; one of the rumours claimed that Li Guiping had attempted suicide. -
Two Practitioners from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province Reveal the Tortures They Have Suffered
2007-06-28Mr. Zhou Mintong, his wife Ms. Zeng Jie, and his mother-in-law are all Falun Gong practitioners. After the persecution started, they went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong many times. Their home has been searched and they have been sentenced to forced labour and detained in a brainwashing centre many times. During detention, Mr. Zhou was tortured repeatedly with electric shocks while his family members were followed and monitored. Recently, Mr. Zhou and Ms. Zeng escaped from China. They are now exposing the details of the tortures they were subjected to over the years.
