• Severe Persecution Cases of Several Women Practitioners in the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province

  Ms. Li Ping is over 50 years old and was sentenced to forced labour on September 30th, 2004. She suffered unimaginable tortures at that camp for assertively refusing to give up Falun Dafa. In a one-month period, Ms. Li was permitted only three nights' sleep. During the daytime she was forced to sit on a small backless stool and at night she was punished by having to stand for long hours. Because of long-term lack of sleep she frequently fell down while standing, often injuring her face and head. After long-term physical torture and extreme pressure and mental torment from threats and intimidation, Li Ping suffered a mental collapse. Now she keeps saying, "What crime have I committed? All I did is just practise qigong."

• Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Has Thrown Female Practitioners into Cells with Male Criminals at Least Three Times

  "I am a Falun Gong practitioner who has been held in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp many times. When I was at home, I learned that many people knew about the 18 female practitioners imprisoned at Masanjia who were stripped of their clothing and thrown into male criminal cells. That case was widely publicised. But it did not just happen once; it happened at least three times. At another time, the police took ten female practitioners to Zhangshi Training House. They stripped nine of the ten practitioners and threw them into a cell with men. Another time they stripped four female practitioners and forced them into the men's cells."

  To destroy people's will, the Chaoyangou Forced Labour Camp has tortured kind people in the most vicious ways, making it the chief place in the province for the violation of human rights. Details of methods of abuse and mistreatment include inciting prisoners by means of rewards and promises of reduction of their prison terms if they openly beat practitioners. They also include using torture, recklessly maltreating practitioners, forcing practitioners to work beyond their capacities, long-term sleep deprivation and forcing practitioners to write a guarantee statement to give up their belief.

• Methods Used to Persecute Practitioners at Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing

  Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing is notorious for its brutality and hypocrisy. Many cruel means have been used to persecute practitioners over the past several years, in efforts to "transform1" them. To the public, it claimed that its "education" style was "like life-giving spring breezes and showers." This so-called "education" is in fact a retinue of cruel torture and brainwashing. Authorities at Tuanhe use inmate "helpers," "enduring eagle" (sleep deprivation), threats, physical abuse, enforced sitting, hard labour, and other methods to persecute practitioners to get them to recant their beliefs.

• Female Falun Gong Practitioners Sexually Abused in Dalian Forced Labour Camp

  "The police officers in Dalian Forced Labour Camp instructed the criminal detainees to torture female practitioners by abusing them sexually. The criminal inmates were ordered to strip off the female practitioner's clothes, cuff their hands and feet spread eagle. Then they stuffed pepper into their genitals, inserted mop handles into their genitals, or pushed three tooth brushes tied together in three different directions into their genitals and rotated them for a long time."

• Crimes Committed in the Xinkaipu Forced Labour Camp

  All Falun Dafa practitioners sent to Xinkaipu Labour Camp in Hunan Province are forced to take off all their clothes and are searched as soon as they arrive. They are then immediately isolated. If the practitioner goes on a hunger strike to resist the persecution, guards order the monitors to tie the practitioner to the operation table in the clinic. Dr. Yu in the labour camp then pries open his mouth with an expander. He turns the screw rods to hold the jaws open. Then he clamps the practitioner's tongue with a surgery grip. He inserts a bamboo tube into the mouth, and fills it with fluid, such as gruel or soup mixed with the rhizome of Chinese goldthread, an herb that tastes extremely bitter, salt or chilli powder.

• A Woman's Breasts Disfigured and Infected from Severe Electric Shock Torture by Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Guards (Photos)

  Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yunjie's breasts were horrifically disfigured and infected as a result of long-term torture, which included being tied up, hung up and shocked with electric batons. It was difficult to look at her and see her suffering. The long periods of torture took a severe toll on Ms. Wang's health. Although she had become extremely frail, she had to do forced labour. She was forced to make handcrafts for export, such as paper flowers. Finally, Ms. Wang gained her release. Later her family found out that the camp staff believed that she had only two months to live.

• Cruel Tortures in the Women's Forced Labour Camp of Hohhot, Ms. Zhang Yuhua Suffers Mental Collapse

  In the Women's Forced Labour Camp of Hohhot, guards force Falun Dafa practitioners to stand for several days, lock them in solitary confinement, forbid them from going to the toilet or washing or brushing their teeth, and deprive them of sleep. If these tortures do not change practitioners' minds, the guards coerce inmates to torture practitioners day and night. Inmates cuff practitioners' hands behind their backs and hang them up so that the tips of their feet barely touch the floor. This torture is named "riding an airplane."

• Authorities at Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp Brutally Persecute Ms. Ding Shumei from Hebei Province

  On August 10th 2005, officers from the Xhanhua Police Department arrested Ms. Ding Shumei, a Falun Dafa practitioner. Without a warrant, they sent her directly to the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. Since Ms. Ding refused to cooperate after the arrest, they beat and tortured her with electric batons. To protest the persecution, Ms. Ding held a hunger strike. In return, the authorities brutally force-fed her. Currently Ms. Ding is in an extremely weak physical condition. We appeal to all kind-hearted people to pay attention to Ms. Ding's situation.

  At the Tuanhe forced labour camp in Beijing, an assistant instructor once said to me, "Do you still refuse to be 'transformed'? I do have ways to make you! I will first inject you with addictive drugs. Then after you develop an addiction, I will withhold the drugs. I will only give you the drug when you say that you will stop practising." At the labour camp, I would often hear these words from the police, "Transformed or not? If not, we will extend your term by ten months!" "You are not allowed to talk to so-and-so. Otherwise wait and see!"

• Dalian City Practitioner Ms. Qu Shumei Imprisoned and Tortured at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

  Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Qu Shumei was arrested again and sentenced to forced labour for two and a half years in May 2004. She is imprisoned in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp and is being severely persecuted. During her previous term in a forced labour camp Ms. Qu Shumei was was brutally tortured, sexually abused, and even locked up in a small cage. Her husband, Mr. Zhu Changbin, was also sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment and is in Dabei Prison in Shengyang City. Their 16-year-old son is being taken care of by her parents.

The guards in the forced labour camps brutally tortured Mr. Ma with such inhuman methods such as punching him very hard in the stomach area that his pancreas ruptured. Then he was subjected to relentless brainwashing until finally he suffered a mental collapse.

• Patients are "Purchased" and Enslaved for Profit at Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp

  Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp enslaves Falun Dafa practitioners and others serving terms as patients in the forced labour camp in order to make more profit. Practitioners are also tortured there. Policeman Li Xuejun, who is in his 30s, was a supervisor at the camp. He persecuted Falun Gong with much enthusiasm, and was therefore promoted to division head. For his own financial benefit, he resorted to all means to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. As division head, he profited by frequently "buying" patients who were scheduled for release, or whose terms were cancelled due to illness, to enslave them and count them as additional labourers.

Guards stretched her arms and legs to cause excruciating pain. They inserted hot pepper into her vagina and scrubbed her genitals with a shoe brush until she lost consciousness.

  37-year-old teacher Ms Sun Yan benefited physically and mentally from practising Falun Gong. She was arrested and persecuted several times for believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. Her workplace sent her to a brainwashing class, even though the company had awarded her the title "Model Young Worker". In November 2001 she was sent to Dalian Forced Labour Camp and was savagely tortured.
