Fearing Exposure, Forced Labour Camp and Prison Officials Refuse to Release Practitioners Who Have Been Persecuted to the Brink of Death

Since the persecution of Falun Dafa began in July 1999, guards and police in China's forced labour camps and prisons have tortured many illegally imprisoned practitioners to the brink of death because they refused to give up their belief in Falun Dafa. They do not release the injured practitioners earlier because they are afraid the practitioners will expose the crimes at the camps and prisons. They often release practitioners just when they are about to die, to prevent the death from being counted in the prison or labour camp statistics. They also hope to hide their evil conduct. This is the typical Communist Party pattern of "untruthful, evil and violent" behaviour. -
Practitioner Ms Jiang Cuilan Tortured to Near Death in Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp
2005-01-03Ms. Jiang Cuilan, 58, from Hebei Province has been persecuted for the past few years for practising Falun Gong. On October 2004, the police abducted her and took her to the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp in Baoding City. Continuous torture has emaciated Ms. Jiang and put her life in danger. -

Qiqihar City Practitioner Li Huifeng Appeals to Court Regarding Persecution He Experienced
2004-12-29On January 22, 2001, Qiqihar City Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Huifeng was taken away by the police. In July 2001, he was charged and sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Jianhua District Court. Mr. Li appealed to a higher court according to the law, but the Qiqihar Mid-level Court went so far as to write in their verdict that Mr. Li accepted the initial ruling and withdrew his appeal. -
Ms. Zhu Xiyu Suffers Mental Collapse from Torture at Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp
2004-12-28Ms. Zhu Xiyu, formerly an accountant for the Dongbeiya Company in Yanji City, Jilin Province, has been detained in the No. 4 Squad of Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp for more than one year for persisting in her practice of Falun Gong. There, she was tortured to such an extent that she now appears to be psychologically detached, mentally impaired and unable to take care of her own basic personal needs. -
55 Year Old Outstanding Teacher Ms. Zhang Chunlan Died as a Result of Torture at Dalian City's Forced Labour Camp - Belated News
2004-12-26Ms. Zhang Chunlan was 55 year old outstanding teacher from Liaoning Province. As she was persistent in practising Falun Dafa, Zhang Chunlan was sentenced to forced labour for two years and was sent to Dalian City Forced Labour Camp. She was forced to do heavy labour, and the living conditions there were extremely terrible. Under these conditions, and being isolated from the outside world, her health was seriously damaged. Ms. Zhang's weight dropped to about 34 kilos (75 pounds) from about 70 kilos (154 pounds). She died tragically on August 29, 2003. -

Atrocities at Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp
2004-12-18Since April 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners illegally detained at Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Hunan Province, have again suffered brutal persecution. Some were shocked with electric batons and others were injected with drugs that damage the nervous system. Some were hit and beaten as well as kicked, while others were forced to squat on their heels for six days to cause the collapse of the intestines. Some practitioners were forced to stand still on top of a tiny stool for six days nonstop, even when eating. -
Zhang Shousheng: Tortured for Wanting to Be a Good Person and Speaking the Truth

"At the end of October 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. When I attempted to practise the Falun Gong exercises outside of the People's Great Hall, I was arrested and sent to the Qianmen Police Station. The Dalian Forced Labour Camp is vicious in persecuting Dafa practitioners. The camp staff members attempt to humiliate and destroy the practitioners mentally and physically. Qiqihar Labour Camp Guard: "Deaths from Beatings Are Counted as Suicides!"
2004-12-16On February 16, 2004, the guards at Shuanghe Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province read materials that defamed Falun Dafa loudly and attempted to force the practitioners to write the Three Statements. Because the practitioners refused, their hands and feet were shackled onto the iron chair and ropes were tied around their limbs so that the practitioners could not stand, sit or squat. Then the guards would order their assistants to pick the practitioners up by the ropes and drop them on the floor. They also yelled at the practitioners, "We have contacted the cremator. If you die from this, it will be counted as suicide."
