They did not allow her to sleep for 4 days and nights. After her hands were cuffed, they beat her, hitting her face and head. The goal was to force her to tell the origin of the truth-clarification materials. Ms. Gou did not obey them.

After the beating, the thugs pressed her onto the ground, crushing her cuffed hand with their heavy boots and dragging her along the ground. In the evening, they led me blind-folded to an unknown place. In the enquiry room, they handcuffed me to a tiger bench (a torture device). Two policemen in their 20's told me that they had forced an older lady to stay outside in the winter for a whole night. She fainted in the cold and was injected with medicine to wake her up in the morning. They threatened to beat me so badly that I would lose control of my bowels and bladder.
