• Luohe City Court in Henan Province Intimidates Defence Lawyer and Secretly Sentences Practitioner

  On May 19th, 2010, practitioner Mr. Zhao Xiang was arrested by police and was detained at the Xiping Detention Centre. When Mr. Zhao was taken to the detention centre, the guards tortured him for ten days and nights. He was handcuffed, his feet were shackled, and he was tied to a cross made of metal poles. In the ten months since, guards have not let his family visit him even once. In October the Luohe Court, notified Mr. Zhao's family that the trial date would be October 15th. Accordingly, his family hired a lawyer to defend Mr. Zhao. However, right before the trial date, the lawyer said that he could not defend Mr. Zhao, saying that the court would not allow a non-guilty appeal for Falun Gong practitioners. His family members had no choice but to cancel their contract with the lawyer.

• Seventeen Falun Gong Practitioners from Deyang City Tricked and Arrested by 610 Office Personnel in Sichuan Province

  The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Deyang City ordered the cancellation of the March 7th Luojiang County Court trial for four Falun Gong practitioners. Many Falun Gong practitioners did not know this, and went to the court as visitors to attend the trial. Seventeen of them were arrested. The arrested practitioners were taken to Guanghan City Detention Centre that night. Meanwhile, the police ransacked their homes.

• Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Jia Shuxiang and Four Others Tried in Hebei Province

  On December 10th, 2010, when Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhang Yalin, Ms. Jia Shuxiang, Ms. Liu Xiuyun, Ms. Zheng Derong and Ms. Li Xiufeng appealed against the persecution of Falun Gong in Yuhuzhai Township, Qianxi County, they were reported to the police by villagers who were brainwashed by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies and arrested by police. On December 15th, except for Ms. Li Xiufeng, the other four practitioners were transferred to the Qianxi Detention Centre. Ms. Li Xiufeng was sent back home because of high blood pressure. Her family members were extorted out of three thousand yuan. In March 2011, the Qianxi County Procuratorate tried all five practitioners.

• Mr. Ni Zhenxuan, Owner of Shijiazhuang Sofa Factory, Sent to Forced Labour Camp

  On March 4th, 2011, five Falun Gong practitioners from the same village went to Mr. Ni Zhenxuan's home to help take care of his mother. The practitioners and his mother studied the Falun Gong teachings together. Suddenly, several policemen rushed into Mr. Ni's home and dragged the five practitioners into police vehicles and drove away. The police also tried to arrest Mr. Ni's wife, but were not successful. on March 13th, Mr. Ni's family received a forced labour notification from police which required their signature. None of them signed the document. The police threatened his family: “It is illegal to have an assembly and read scriptures.” Currently, Mr. Ni's whereabouts are unknown.

• Four of Nine Detained Falun Gong Practitioners From Lidi City, Hunan Province Secretly Sent to Wangling Prison

  On March 12th, 2010, nine practitioners were put on a trial in Lixing District Court in Lidi City. All of the practitioners denied the charges against them and stated their innocence. Lawyers from Beijing representing them requested their immediate release. However, on August 3rd, 2010, the practitioners were sentenced to jail. By law, the judgement should have been handed down within one-and-a-half months after the trial. Instead, it was given more than four months later. The practitioners were sentenced to up to ten years in jail.

• Sentenced to 14 Years, Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Dong Limin Is Persecuted in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison

  In March 2002, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dong Limin was taken to the Jiusan Detention Centre and forcibly injected with unknown substances. She was sentenced to 14 years in prison on July 18th, 2002. On July 29th, 2002, she was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. Ms. Dong has been imprisoned for eight years and suffers from a serious heart problem; her limbs are weak, and she is emaciated. Now she is being persecuted in Ward 5.

• Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yan Yuqin Became Mentally Disordered As a Result of Torture in Beijing's Tiantanghe Forced Labour Camp

  From the end of 2006 to 2007, I was detained at the Beijing Haidian Detention Centre for over three months. All I heard were the sounds of chains and screaming from beatings every day. The police were trained to be ruthless and never treated detainees as humans. A practitioner in her 50s was detained in the cell next to mine. Because she shouted “Falun Gong is good,” the police chained her hands and feet together. As a result, she could not walk normally. She could only move slowly in the heavy chains, and her back was bent nearly one hundred and eighty degrees. This is called the “Dog Chain” torture.

• Mr. Deng Yangsheng, in His Seventies, Recounts Arrest by the Dadukou Police Sub-Division of Chongqing City

  On September 30th, 2007, 72-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Deng Yangsheng was arrested by policemen who broke into his house and later ransacked his house. He recounts about his detention: "Four policemen led by He and Liu Bin pressed me against the wall beside some steel pipes. Several people held me and spread my arms out and handcuffed my wrists me to the pipes. After standing for about 20 minutes, my head ached severely."

• Tianjin Woman Persecuted in Forced Labour Camp in Tianjin City

  Since the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Feng Ling has been arrested, put behind bars in a detention centre, and later tortured in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labour Camp. She recounts: "The guards forced me to do heavy physical work, including carrying 120 pound bags of beans to be exported (I noticed some bags marked with the “U.S.A.”), which were taken off the truck and put on my shoulders. I saw that the dedicated female practitioners (age 55 or younger) were carrying the same as I did. I also witnessed one 55-year-old grey-haired female practitioner being forced to carry these heavy bags of beans. She was not able to do it, but the guards didn't allow others to help her, and said, “She must carry it even if she crawls.”"

• The Qiannanzhou Intermediate Court Sentenced Mr. Liang Rongqi to Six Years in Prison

  On May 27th, 2010, police broke into the home of Mr. Liang Rongqi, ransacked his home, and arrested him. Mr. Liang was sent to the Qiananzhou Detention Centre in Guizhou Province. On October 28th, the Duyun Court sentenced Mr. Liang to six years in prison. Judge Yuan Hui responded that Mr. Liang's attorney would be informed about the trial. However, on March 16th, 2011, without informing the attorney, the court did not go through the normal appeal trial procedure but rather directly dispatched personnel to the detention centre, saying the court's decision on Mr. Liang's case was upheld.

• 66-Year-Old Mr. Peng Xibin Detained for Many Years

  Mr. Peng Xibin has been detained for many years, from his fifties to his sixties. He is still being held in Lanzhou Prison. He is imprisoned because he wants to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. A Falun Gong practitioner who knew Mr. Peng said: "The labour at the Pingantai Forced Labour Camp was mainly field work. Detainees used spades to turn the soil and hoes to work the fields. This is very intensive physical labour. It was said that Mr. Peng fainted several times while working in the field. The guards tried to make him write the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong, but he always wrote how wonderful Falun Gong is and how people benefit from practising Falun Gong."

• Ma Lili of Tangshan City Given a Three-year Sentence, Her Family Plans to Appeal

  Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Lili was sentenced to three years in prison by the Tangshan City Lubei Court in Hebei Province. The term began on February 27th, 2011. The one who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong, former leader of China, Jiang Zemin, went to Tangshan City on August 11th, 2010. The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Tangshan City, Hebei Province then launched a large-scale round of persecution of local Falun Gong practitioners. Nearly twenty practitioners were arrested and detained. On August 16th, Ma Lili was arrested by police.

• Engineer Recounts Brutal Torture During Nine Years of Persecution

  Police arrested me in January 2001 and took me to a deserted courtyard to torture me. They covered my eyes and put a very heavy helmet on my head. A police officer punched and kicked me, as well as pounded on my helmet, making me rather dizzy. They hung me up on a beam and hit my feet with a square-shaped wooden stick over 200 times. As a result my hands and feet were black and blue and mangled. Blood was oozing out of all my toes. No matter what they did, I refused to answer any of their questions. Zhang Chunqiu was swearing and slandering Falun Gong continuously. He said, "I will beat you to death, just like killing a chicken."

  Yanchi County Court in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region tried Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma Zhiwu secretly on March 1st, 2011. Mr. Ma is facing a second trial shortly in Wuzhong City Court. Mr. Ma was sent to a forced labour camp for three years for appealing for the right to practise Falun Gong in Beijing in 1999. Before his term ended, he was sentenced to six years imprisonment and taken to Guanmahu Prison in Wuzhong City from 2002 to 2008. During his eight years of incarceration, Mr. Ma was tortured and beaten severely.

  On March 10th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Shuisheng was to have been released after eight years of detention in the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang, Hubei Province. However, on March 9th, Qu Shen and other personnel from the Jianghan District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) secretly transferred Mr. Liu to the Erdaopeng Brainwashing Centre.
