  • Mr. Li Yueping, Mr. Hao Zhendong and Mr. Hao's Wife Arrested

    Police officers from Harbin and Shuangcheng Domestic Security Divisions ransacked Mr. Li Yueping's and Ms. Yin Yumei’s homes on March 7th, 2011. They arrested Mr. Li, in his 60s, and Mr. Hao Zhendong and his wife, who had fled to Mr. Yin Yumei’s home in hopes of avoiding further persecution. Ms. Yin Yumei escaped.
  • Wuhan City Teacher Tortured at Hewan Labour Camp

    Because of her practising Falun Gong, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have sent Ms. Zhu Huimin twice to the Wuhan City Hewan Labour Camp and brutally persecuted her there. In addition to deprivation of sleep and force-feeding, guards electrically shocked her and hung her up. She recounts: "I went on a hunger strike to oppose the persecution. A doctor ordered inmates to hold me down and force-fed me. As I struggled, my nose and throat were injured by the rubber tubing, and this happened repeatedly. In addition, the doctor intentionally pulled and pushed the tubing inside my nose, which caused even more bleeding. I once bled so much that they stopped in the middle, afraid of killing me."
  • Persecution of Falun Gong in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province

    To prevent Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jin Zhengshu from speaking or doing the Falun Gong exercises, her mouth was taped shut for more than a week. Guards tied her on the "death bed" at night. She staged a hunger strike to protest. To further torture her, the labour camp doctor left force-feeding tubes fed through her nose and into her stomach in place all day and night. Guard Wang Zhufeng tied her legs to the legs of the bed, and kicked out Ms. Jin’s only remaining four teeth. As they kicked her, the blood gushed over her entire chest; an appalling but all too common scene in China's forced labour camps and prisons today.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xia Ning Persecuted in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Xia Ning from Liaoning Province is a Falun Gong practitioner in her 50s. She was arrested in 2008 and incarcerated in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. During her two years in the camp, she went on a hunger strike several times. The guards force-fed her ruthlessly, making her virtually bedridden the entire time. They beat her mercilessly and subjected her to electric shocks, almost on a daily basis.
  • Ms. Wei Hong's Personal Account of the Persecution She Suffered

    Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have continuously persecuted Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wei Hong since the year 2000. She recounts: "In March 2002, police ransacked my home and interrogated me. I was taken to the Raohe Detention Centre. Officers from the State Security Bureau forced me to watch video programmes that slandered Falun Gong. In 2003, police confiscated personal property from my home, including DVDs exposing the persecution, Falun Gong books and materials. Police cuffed my hands behind my back and hung me up with straps onto the pipe of the central heating system. The straps tightened around my arms, as the officers repeatedly pulled on one end to raise me until my legs couldn't touch the ground."
  • Persecution of Dr. Wang Anlin from Beijing Normal University Hospital

    Dr. Wang Anlin was arrested seven times for refusing to stop practising Falun Gong. She was savagely beaten, and then sentenced to five years in prison in 2005. She was taken to Beijing Women's Prison. She recounts: "Forced labour was one of the main torture methods that prison officials use on practitioners. With no consideration for the aged, weak, ill, or disabled, all inmates were forced to do hard labour, and held to a daily quota. The authorities forced practitioners to take exams that determined whether they had been truly “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]"
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Lin Chunzi Arrested Again in Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province

    Ms. Lin Chunzi, of Korean ethnicity, lives in Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province. Soon after she began practising Falun Gong, her diseases disappeared. Since the persecution started in 1999, however, she has been arrested and held in detention centres several times. In 2004, she was arrested and held in Harbin Women's Prison until September 2007. On February 28th, 2011, she and Liu Xueqin were arrested by the Mudanjiang Railway Police Department when the two were handing out materials explaining the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution.
  • The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Uses its Annual “Two Congress” Get-Together as an Excuse to Intensify Persecuting Falun Gong

    The biggest annual Chinese Communist Party meetings come on the day when the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) are held. This year, they were held on March 3rd. In the days running up to the meetings, mass arrests of people labelled as “dissidents” were carried out throughout China. In order to distract public focus on major social problems, the police and 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) issued orders to intensify the monitoring and persecution of Falun Gong. According to information from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, from the beginning of January to March 7th, 2011, at least 470 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. Many more were followed, surveilled, and harassed by the authorities.
  • Qu Fengxiang Arrested and Brutally Tortured

    Mr. Qu Fengxiang was arrested by police officer Yu Yang on October 14th, 2010. Yu pretended that he was a student's father and chatted with Mr. Qu. Mr. Qu gave him a Falun Gong DVD. Yu and two other police officers, who waited outside, then arrested him. Yu brutally beat Mr. Qu in the head, chest and lower body, and then threw him to the ground and handcuffed him. Police took Mr. Qu to Haidian District Detention Centre. Guards injected Mr. Qu with some unknown drug, then threw him on a bed and shocked him with electric batons. Mr. Qu was brutally tortured for a total of 43 days. He was then sent to the Xin'an Forced Labour Camp, but because he was so weak from the torture, the labour camp refused to accept him.
  • Facts about the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners from Meizhou, Guangdong Province

    During the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners from Meizhou City, Guangdong Province have often been taken to brainwashing centres, forced labour camps or prisons. Mr. Liu Tong is a physics teacher. On November 25th, 2010, after he received a call from a fellow practitioner requesting Falun Gong materials, he went to deliver the materials to a place near Mei County High School at Gangzishan in Meizhou City. He was taken away by policemen who were waiting for him. A dozen policemen from Meijiang District ransacked his home and took away his computer and other personal belongings. He was detained in the Dapu County Detention Centre.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. An Ling from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province Imprisoned for Seven Years

    Falun Gong practitioner An Ling was arrested at home by police in November 2001. She was sentenced to seven years in prison in February 2002. She was imprisoned in the Harbin Women's Prison and suffered from brutal beatings and torture. She recounts: "I was forced to get up at five every morning and sit in the classroom all day, where guards tried to force me to renounce practising Falun Gong. I was not allowed to move except to go to the toilet. I had to sleep between two prisoners. Because of prolonged sitting on the hard bench, I was very weak. My right leg was stiff and each step was very painful. Even so, guard team leader Zheng Jie told the prisoners to take me to the workshop for forced labour in the morning and bring me back to the prison room at 8 to 9 p.m."
  • Ms. Luo Changyun, 57, Sentenced to Prison After Being Held in a Forced Labour Camp Three Times

    Ms. Luo Cahngyun has been sentenced to a forced labour camp three times, and was put on probation once. She was severely tortured in the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Luo was put on a wanted list prior to the 2008 Olympics, and was arrested in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, and sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Luo Changyun is currently being detained in the Ninth Ward of the Shaanxi Women's Prison, where she is being tortured. The long-term abuse has severely damaged Ms. Luo's mental and physical health.
  • Ms. Wang Yijin of Shanghai Suffers Persecution at Qingpu Brainwashing Centre

    The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) across China have established countless brainwashing centres to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Wang Yijin from Chongming County of Shanghai was forced to undergo mental torture for 87 days at the Qingpu Brainwashing Centre, which is typical of the many brainwashing centres across China.
  • Mr. Ji Ruiling and Ms. Ji Junyun from Handan City, Hebei Province Sentenced and their Family Cheated out of a Lot of Money

    Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ji Ruiling and Ms. Ji Junyun are siblings from Handan City, Hebei Province. The local police fabricated their “crimes”, so they were sentenced in 2010. Mr. Ji Ruiling, 60, was sentenced to three years in prison while Ms. Ji Junyun, 50, was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months. The police also extorted more than 100,000 yuan from their family. Both brother and sister are honest people. When doing business, they were honest, fair and generous to their customers, no matter their age. They never cheated anyone. Therefore, they were well liked and had many loyal customers.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners from Heyuan City, Guangdong Province Detained

    Because they practised Falun Gong Mr. Huang Jin, Mr. Ye Zhijian and Ms. Deng Shi'e were arrested on August 12th, 2007. They were sentenced to six years, five years and four years in prison, respectively. They still have not been released. Ms. Huang Yuying was released after having been imprisoned for six years. Shortly after her release, she was once again arrested on July 18th, 2010 in Boluo County, Huizhou City, and was sentenced to five years in prison.
