  Li Weihong's mother and sister are both Falun Gong practitioners and both have also suffered harsh persecution. Her sister Li Weiling has been illegally sentenced to an eight-year prison term and is detained in Songjiang District Female Prison, Shanghai. Her 68-year-old mother was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labour and fortunately was recently released from the labour camp, not without severe toll to her health.

• Dafa Practitioner Ms. Lu Qiangfang Dies After Suffering from Torture-Induced Illnesses for Several Months

  Her family members took her for a medical examination. The doctors found a tumour in her body. However, during surgery, it turned out that the "tumour" was in fact a chunk of gore. After Lu Qiangfang checked out of the hospital, she still could not take care of herself and had to remain in bed all day long. She could not eat and lost control of her bladder. After several months of pitiful suffering, Lu Qiangfang passed away in September 2003.

• Events Leading up to and Following the Torture Death of Jiangxi Province Practitioner Chen Jianning

  In the Township Police Station, Chen Jianning was severely beaten while his wife, Meifen, was released. Chen Jianning was taken to the County Public Security Bureau's Section of Security and Politics, where he was horrifically beaten to death on the spot. Afterwards, they pushed his body out the window to make it look like a suicide. He was beaten to death at 5pm, but the Village Chief was not notified until after 8pm.

The family requested compensation for the wrongful death. Wang Guoliang, Liu Xiquan and others said, "Your son broke the law and jumped out of a train. How can we compensate you for it?" Sun's father told Chen Yangke from the "610 Office," "My son was tortured to death by Luo Ming and Li Wei. He did not jump out of the train." Chen Yangke didn't say a word.

  Ouyang Ming's face became unrecognizable due to the beatings. His face was beaten so badly that the bleeding couldn't be stopped for over two hours. His whole body was swollen, the skin ruptured and the flesh burst. Later on, his hands and feet were shackled separately. Additionally, the police put a third set of handcuffs through the two shackles (with a total weight of about 70-80lbs). Since he was unable to stand upright, he had to crawl.

• Murder of Dafa Practitioner at Tangshan City Labour Camp

  After Meng Jincheng died, the perpetrators notified his family to go to a hospital to see his body, but they only let the family look from behind a glass window outside the ward. The family could only see the back of the head. The perpetrators also asked the family for money. Because the family refused to pay, the heartless authorities had the body cremated immediately. The ashes are still being held in Tangshan City.
